I had this issue today in my driving class. I was a confident driver in Diesel car and when I switched to petrol I have stalled several times and I felt very uncertain, however I believe practice does make you feel confident.

Petrol engines are higher in bhp power but diesel engines are higher in torque and mid range pickup..You cannot directly compare a petrol engine with a diesel engine in terms of power delivery and car performance, as both behave differently..Diesel have narrow rpm compared to petrol and added with turbo chargers for providing power, which gives you the speed. And torque is naturally in a diesel vehicle which we also called the "pulling power". In this video, he said the initial and higher rpm performance is low compared to petrol doesn't mean it's not sufficient to reach the good speeds..here is just comparison between the two..nothing else..petrol cars are cheaper than the diesel counterparts with some reason..think about it..So diesel is overall good in real world performance. Petrol need to be stressed on mid range but diesel is fast on those ranges which helps in both overtaking and achieving higher speeds in less time..though the power will be blend on high rpm...still you will get there in time..but petrol need to wait to break the mid barrier for getting higher rpms..but it will be better than the diesel doen't mean one sided results..diesel already got it a way better in mid ranges..so finally diesel is more practical on road while petrol is good on papers

Petrol is more volatile than diesel.
So petrol engine me spark plug hota hai and diesel engine me high combustion se fuel jalate hai to produce power.
Petrol engine me air se mix karke bas spark dete hai combustion ke liye.
Pehle diesel sirf Heavy motor vehicle me use hota tha because it produces more torque thus giving more power so truck etc only used to have diesel engine.
Back in the day, diesels used to be extremely loud and eject dark plumes of smoke, but since low sulphur diesel was introduced, they drive very economically and quietly.
So diesel cars are best to buy in today's time as they are economical as well.

Diesel engines are best to be driven at midrange rpm i.e, from 1500 to 3000 rpm and in that range we get full torque available in diesel engine. Diesel engines have maximum pulling power in this range and hence in day to day practical driving or cruising on highways we drive in midrange only. So it gives effortless driving and does not need frequent gear shifting. And hence diesel engines last long also than petrol engines. In-gear acceleration means 40-100 kmph in 4th gear and 20-80 kmph in 3rd gear of Diesel engines is always quicker than Petrol engines. Petrol engines need frequent gear shifting while overtaking on highways as well as Petrol engines get damaged more in cold starts than diesel engines because Petrol washout the oil off the cylinder walls more than diesel. Hence if you want more pulling power (Torque) and mileage then go for Diesel engines. And in hyundai-Kia SUVs like Creta and Seltos the diesel versions come with 6-speed gearboxes and 6th gear gives 150 kmph crusing speed at 3000 rpm and that is more than sufficient for Indian roads. They can touch upto 190 kmph also but what i mentioned means high torque range from 1500 rpm to 3000 rpm is what your engine needs to be in a happy state and crusing at 3000 rpm in 6th gear and getting 150 kmph is excellent figure

In Hexa, I have a yellow sticker that suggests 1 minute idling before starting and after stopping, and I try to follow it. I want to know your opinion on how important idling is for turbo life. Is it really important and people should follow it, or is it not required for modern day turbo charged diesel cars. Thanks.

2013 Swift Petrol owner here,Just want to share some knowledge about idiling our car,irrespective of diesel or petrol engine we should always idle our car for 1 minute or atleast 30 sec on 1500rpm in diesel and 2000rpm if on petrol on cold starts only when we are in hurry or else let it idle for 1 minute full because the reason behind that is very simple that when engine cools down or is not started for long period of time the engine oil seeps down in oil pan so, when in morning or cold days we start out engine for 5-6sec some components of the engine will run dry until the oil pressure increases and the friction decreases so if in that period we start driving the wear and tear on the engine will increase and it gets worse for diesels with turbo because as soon the engine starts the oil too starts circulating but it takes some bit time to reach all the auxillary parts like turbo so the same way if we accelerate the turbo will run dry for some time and the wear and tear will increas hence decresing the life of turbo no matter which kind of cars we drive the basic principle will remain same, and when shutting down diesels after long run consider it idling for a minute or two so that turbo cools down a bit before shutting down the engine,it will vastly effect the life of both the engine and the turbo.

For an enthusiast which engine is preferred Diesel engine or a turbocharged petrol engine. Since both are turbocharged, which one would be better in terms of drive experience, cost of maintenance and life span in terms of years

I have ciaz diesel and i hardly go above 2500 RPM , mostly 2000 ya 1800 tak rehta hu har kisi gear me , highway pe bhi 80-100 ka speed 2000 RPM me miljata he and me accelerator pe per halka rakhta hu mileage ke liye, ab mera sawaal ye he ke me mostly 2000 RPM pe car chalata hu and turbo 2500 pe kick hota he to is style me kya mujhe milege kam mil raha he kya??? Kya mujhe ciaz 5th gear pe na chalake 4th gear pe 3000 RPM me chalana chahiye highway pe and agar jyada speed chahiye ho to hi 5th gear daalu for ex. 100 ke upper speed chahiye ho to ?? Apka kya khayaal he plzzzz batana

Aur showroom walo se mujhe koi satisfactory answer nahi Mila...toh sir mujhe kiya karna chahiye.. And clutche assembly ki price kinti hogi agr change Karne Jau...please answer me sir.. Main bohut problem mein hun...
