Why You Need A Roland FP30X Digital Piano...
The replacement for the popular Roland FP30, the Roland FP30X is an excellent upgrade and amazing value. From its compact size, portability, excellent speaker system, connectivity and ability to add various stands and pedal-boards; this piano is flexible and great for a beginner or professional performer. Its looks great at home, as well as on stage!
Reasons to buy a Roland FP-30x...
1. Amazing Piano sound - Using the famous Roland 'Supernatural Piano Sound' via the Roland BMC Chip (Behavior Modelling Core) - Basically it sounds brilliant!
2. 256 Note Polyphony - This is the amount of notes you can play at once - So all good here.
3. PHA4 Action - PHA stands for Progressive Hammer Action. Each key has a separate weight on a gradient from heavier at the bass end to lighter on the treble end to simulate the gradient in the size of hammers on an acoustic piano; and it does it very well giving a very responsive action for the price point.
4. 56 Sounds - Great choice that you can also 'Split' to have one sound for each hand or 'Layer' 2 sounds together.
5. Can be played on a desk top or stands (available at additional costs unless bundled as stated) - Roland make a nice wooden stand called a 'KSC-70' and also a triple pedal unit called a 'KPD-70'. The stand and pedal unit allow you to make the piano look like a home digital piano at home with the added benefit of 3 pedals, whilst maintaining the ability to take it off the stand for portability. The keyboard can go on other stands or a desktop fore example too!
6. Three speaker settings (22 watts) - You get 3 speakers settings to chose from depending upon how you have the piano set up for optimum sound quality. For example you can set it up for when its on the wooden Roland stand and have a different sound setting if its on a X Frame style stand. Great!
7. Bluetooth MIDI & Audio + USB - Great connectivity, you can play your music from your phone for example throught the speakers or if you are into recording play and record with MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface). You have a USB socket too if you prefer to connect with a wire.
8. Roland APP & Connectivity - Connect with Bluetooth to the Roland app/s, like the Roland 'Piano Everyday App'. This allows you to connect with IOS or Android and play songs, see notation on your screen, play ear training games, learn to play, play with accompaniments, record your playing and much more.
9. Independent Stereo Outputs - This means you can have the speakers on (on the piano) and also send a signal out for Left & Right (to maintain stereo sound) to an amp and speakers. For example, you can use the on-board speakers as a monitor of your playing on stage whilst the sound is going out through your PA. This is a great feature and not always available at this price point!
10. Light Weight - Only 14.8kg including the music rest!
11. Available in Black or White - With matching colour stands and triple pedal-boards available too!
12. Comes with power supply, sustain pedal & music rest - Comes with the power supply and a square footswitch style sustain pedal.
The Roland FP30X is an amazing digital piano with the additional added benefit of accompaniments with rhythms, Bluetooth MIDI & Audio In, Apps available and look great. I think this piano is excellent value for money.

Graham, once again, a splendid demonstration!!!
Now 2024 I still like this piano even though newer models have come out since this one , very well demonstrated, the sound and functions are just amazing , loved it.
Superb performance
Excellent! Many sincere thanks from East Texas! I am looking forward to receiving my FP30-X bundle this week. As a former amateur musician who strayed away from music, it is going to be fun and enjoyable work getting back to making music. This keyboard and the DAW I plan to mate with it will be a great nostalgic restart for me. I plan to stick with it, now. Your video is very positive and inspiring! Thanks, again, and all the best!
Loved the riff at 7:30!
Graham. Great video. Ive watched you on AGT. You were awesome. Question-is there a way to have the rhythms play as accompaniment without the right hand notes. I am renting one of these for a month
不错👍
Ha! I play that song by Barry all the time!
1:44
That was Gorgeous devine
What is that lovely music
?
Think it might be "If I Should Love Again" by Barry Manilow. The tune he plays to demonstrate the metronome from 9.40 is called "Ballade pour Adeline" which was written by a chap called Paul de Senneville, for his newly-born daughter; and made famous by Richard Clayderman. It's a beautiful piece, worth a quick search.

Thanksa ton
For putting a name to that 1:44

Thanks for Ballad pour Adeline..
I am familiar with that one.
Infact.. It's amongst my favorites / frequent
@@vspatmx7458 You are most welcome. I'm rather fond of Ballade pour Adeline too!
I just received the Roland FP-30X, and I have no trouble changing the options without the apps. Are there any advantages to connecting with the apps like voice upgrades or firmware upgrades? Nice Demo, great keyboard.
Yes, with the app you can select dozens more voices. You can only access a few of the voices through the piano itself
There is one shortcoming, not with the piano, but with the music stand. A majority of pianists play from large music books. These are usually A4 in size and require a good music stand too 'keep them in place ' on the music stand. There are no clips etc to 'keep music open' and in place on the music stand. I recently visited a church and the pianists was playing a piece from a music book. All of a sudden ' the music book folded over and landed in her lap. By good fortune, she had memorised the music and was able to play to the end of the piece. Not all pianists 'play by ear' and for pianists who 'read music '' the piano stand is very very important. This stand may also need to hold two books. One book with the tune ' while another one has the words. Is there an upgraded version of the music stand shown in this video? The instrument itself is fine' but buying the extra 'piano block adds more expense to actually buying the original keyboard. Thanks for the information in this video.
There are few, if any, digital stage pianos with an A4 music stand with page retainers, and definitely not at this price point! Buying a music stand is the simple answer and these don’t have to be the traditional tripod type. There are balanced arm types too. It always amazes me when someone makes a whimsical request when paying a minimal amount of money.
Hi Graham, Roland FP30X or Kawai ES110? Which would you go for purely on piano sound and action most similar to acoustic piano?
That's a very important question, but still not answered.
The Roland is your best option for this price point
AND... my wife calls that "the mouse song"!
whats the song played at 4:45?
Right here waiting
@@Jaikhay231 Thanks !!!
Worst action of any digital piano out there.
You appear to be making this exact same comment on every Roland FP30X video. It isn't helpful or true. It isn't even constructive.
@@AnotherAnonymousMan omg yes! ive seen that person at least 5 times now, its very annoying and not providing any helpful info
Tiene mejor acción que la yamaha p 125. Y el sonido en el roland es más acústico y natural
I heard the exact opposite actually
Nooooo. The Casio Smart Scaled Hammer II is much worse - very clonky and the black keys are too light.
