In my opinion, le sserafim is marketed as a performance-main group. The girls themselves say they hope to win and feel happiest when they receive performance awards because that’s what they put the most effort into. They never claim to be the strongest vocal group. That said, they are NOT bad singers. They give good performances and that’s what they’re good at.
Some people are also unhappy that they have any backing track at all though, so I honestly don’t know if doing this the first week would’ve saved them from the hate, they were getting tons of hate before Coachella already. But it’s just so unrealistic. I don’t expect a 100% vocally perfect performance when it’s live, and I think it’s fine to enjoy a performance even if there are some mistakes

SNSD didn't spend like 1 year practicing ITNW to be able to sing live and dance so that you could accuse them of lip-syncing (that they could master the song and dance was a requirement for them to debut); In kpop do they lip sync? Yes, it depends on different factors and situations: that the program requires it, that the agency requests it, by one or several artists who are sick, to take care of their voice (in case they have other presentations pending in other places), or in the worst case that the artist is not of the caliber to perform live (poor vocal that cannot be classified as a singer); Mostly lip syncing occurs in music programs; It all depends on who uses it more than others, the quality of the artist is determined by whether he knows how to sing (tune, be stable, harmonize, etc.) and how much of that he can do live. It is not good to generalize, so I will say that most idols of the first and second generation have incredible vocals and sang live most of the time (their track record of all the times they sang live proves it)

You enjoyed it but the thing is they got so much hate for it and of course they can’t improve in just one week..they just came back to perform with a better strategy hence the second week was much more great although the first week had raw vocals..some appreciated and the people present their enjoyed the performance but the hate was too much that they had to stay away from interactions for a whole week

And their agency (HYBE) push them too much for succesful and even chaewon and sakura already have experience debut in IZONE it's totally different concept and singing skill. Hybe create this gg just to compete with blackpink, aespa twice and other succesfull gg.. even ITZY know their places and wait for their moment

i think most of the problem still stems down to the company and producers. like why do they make songs that is so vocally adjusted that there is NO WAY the idols can sing it live or at least similarly without any vocal adjustments on their mic. tired of hearing kpop songs that doesnt sound like a human is singing it. Especially if I cant distinguish who is singing which line. and yeah, only a FEW groups and companies do this right

it honestly doesn't matter if they used a backtrack for the 1st day they will still be criticized regardless. Cuz all this "criticism" stems from hate. they are getting hate for singing fully live without support but had they used a backtrack they'd be accused of "lip-syncing" instead.
there is no going around or preventing irrational hate and targeted harassment. even if they magically improve to So Hyang's level overnight people WILL find other things to nitpick.

Former IOI, and current actress Kim Se-Jeong once said: "If I dare to share, I don't think skills are that important for girl groups. Instead, it's crucial that those lack in skills aren't caught on stage. It shouldn't be exposed or revealed. I believe being an idol is about working hard, shedding sweat, blood, and tears to create a perfect performance, even if you may lack the skills. Eitherway, you must still deliver a complete performance."
And I totally agree, thats why as much as I love Le Sserafim, they must really take this criticism and learn from it. NGL though, 2nd week was really good, backtrack or not, and they deserve credit for showing a better performance.

Seriously speaking, week 1 has a lot of mistakes and finally they ended week 2 great! I truly believe that they got too excited during week 1 that the dancing was not fully balanced with their singing but right now they know how to slightly stop and then continue again to do the hard choreography, felt like the feeling that they need to engage with the crowd, they were so overwhelmed that they kept moving around and continuously be out of breath but FOR WEEK 2, THEY DELIVERED WELL!
I hope they only listen to the CRITISISM and not the bullying, de@th threats and hate that the haters are throwing at them. THEY REALLY NEED TO IMPROVE THEIR STAMINA AND VOCALS. THEY CAN SING, BUT NOT EVERYONE HAS THE SAME CAPABILITY THAT'S WHY NOBODY IS PERFECT AND A LIVE PERFORMANCE CAN'T AND WILL NEVER BE 100% PERFERCT. And like Yunjin said, they learned a lot from Week 1. I'm just happy that being into KPOP for almost half of my life, I can now see festivals live Coachella literally take KPOP GROUPS/ARTISTS seriously because DAMN, THEY DO PERFORMER WELL AND THEY CAN SING WELL!

Their mics are pitch correcting them at times like u said, it’s almost like an auto tune mic with some layering and some backtracks so of course they will sound decent but ppl using this week as if they got better suddenly in one week is crazy. Doesn’t help that Sakura made a statement last week that they tried their best and it’s all good some ppl like it some don’t. When usually idols have the respect for their craft to not think those vocals were sufficient enough and would say they’d work harder. So now week two comes with all the help and using as if they really improved like Hybe actually needs to get better vocal training.

Most k-pop group used backtrack vocal.
