Many feel offended when someone has the courage to be what they want, to dress how they want. For many in the skateboarding scene, however, that's too "cool" or "arrogant" or whatever. (Even if that sounds stupid, you notice similar things, for example, when someone prefers to skate "alone" in the skate park and others look at him strangely because of it.) But it also has a lot to do with expression, what impression you make and how much projection surface you offer.
Skateboarding has always been very open to new things, but unfortunately there are also many “followers” who jump from one trend to the next. And there is also a lot of envy, this slave morality / resentment. The whole thing is quite a mass psychological phenomenon and skateboarding has also become very commercial. Nevertheless, people with taste watch what they like and the NPC's watch what is currently the most hyped or the most liked.
Another explanation would be that adult people don't give so many "likes" on CZcams, because they don't pay attention to it. So most of the content, I think, is hyped by kids / teens.
Well, and some people can appreciate a good edit more then others.

Sucks they stopped making these, black suede was easily one of the best skate shoes of all time, after 11 years on the board
