Had the pleasure of being onboard the 'Pennine Fellsman' from Liverpool Lime Street (bailing at Crewe on the return run); a great afternoon out despite the delay, and an opportunity to encounter 40145 (D345) for the first time. Remember 87004 running round at Carlisle too, if memory serves!
    Thanks for posting.

And Evening Star as well at Carlisle! (And a choice Austin Allegro 💨)
That was an interesting trip in the 2003 trip; got more than you bargained for there! Birmingham to Carlisle via Liverpool with a 56, two 37s and a Class 40!

Lol you got me again at 1530 ish looking a it baffled on the opposite platform at Stafford, as far as i can remember 102 was especially requested by Pathfinder asit had never worked one of their trains, it had worked a HRT charter a few months before back into London from Crewe so they asked for it even though it did have a reputation for being a bit unreliable, as was proved on the day, luckily being from the south west i chose to drive to Birm Int for train instead of going upto Stafford to get on, i pity those people who were waiting on the platform just to have it fail in front of them, pity u didn't capture the simultaneous departure from Stafford of the RES 47 on the fast lines a race it won by the way lol
