As for the song... how should I say..

My biggest gripe with theme songs in jrpgs and anime. Why do they have to do it in English. And if they really want to do it in English, why do they not hire someone to proofread it... the tune is okay but the engrish lyrics can really throw you off sometimes.
The thing is that the one who translate the lyric to English is actually native and not Japan people... Maybe they adopt more to exact language translation instead of more.... idk, meaning-wise?
Watch the Japanese trailer. They also recorded the song in Japanese. Definitely better, though, I enjoy it either way. I’m just glad it’s not some pop song in the traditional sense.
Joel Santos Square usually does English and Japanese versions of themes. A Japanese version will happen.

More than anything, I'm glad to see Uematsu-sensei in good health... And this song is just... too. damn. good.
"There's a rain pouring over a barren, empty place. And cloud is standing there" I cried when He said that. It's just how accurate the harmonica and guitar strumming is to the picture on Sir Uematsu's head. It's an artist's visualization of the music.. It's beautiful it honestly made me tear... I don't even know, not tears of joy or sadness, just tears of understanding. And It's really close to Crisis Core's feel.

This song has a strong soul I get attached easily with the melody. Excellent and heartbreaking. Also leaves me with questions where this first part will end, considering the lyrics can also be associated to Cloud's regret for Aerith's death.

What I’ve heard of the song is beautiful and haunting. I was a bit worried about the inevitable lyrical song they’d put in this but am pleasantly surprised at how well it seems to fit.

It may appear on the sound track disc that comes with the deluxe edition. Some of their other games did this.
I'm not a fan. The vocals sounds like every other generic anime theme song. It bends the styling of this remake in the direction of the J Pop wet dream that I despise about the last couple series entries.

Emrys Mao actually, listened to a couple of songs and they don’t seem to have the same sound as this one. I’ll try a couple more but I suspect this is more Uematsu than Survive Said the Prophet.
