Due to the New Wix Changes this week, if you don't see the option private members collection on the reference, you must turn it on, by clicking the collections icon on the left panel then your collections and then your collections then manage and once the window open click on more actions, advance settings, and select Wix app collections, this will solve it.

Thank you for an amazing video, bit complicated for a complete newbie but I can follow it okay. This video is pretty old now so I don't know if you'll see this, but I'm having difficulty with the drop down menu for the different listings - when I click it only the details of last listing I've made show regardless of how many I've got. Would you have any idea what I might have done wrong, I've gone over and over it and just can't figure it out! Thank you in advance.

Is there a way in wix to set up a search using the postal code, without having to manually input all postcodes?
Also how does one set a radius of varying degrees (ie 80km from a location)?
For example - Say a customer was looking for an electrician, but they want to see all electricians that would provide the service in their area or another example ... a customer looking for a property but they want it to be a certain distance from their work or school etc.
How would I go about coding or linking something like this?
Yes is possible using an integration from Google developer, the only thing is that Google charges a fee for every 1000 searches, I can check for you more details

Great video. I learned a lot. I am however stuck and hope you can push me along. At the step where I add the logout and progile buttons and code, when I text the work and arrive at the screen that asks me to login, i can not go further. when i click on login nothing happens. Am i supposed to add the login page first?
One of the common errors is that you didnt add the handle ONCLICK, that usually is the problem, second is that the name of the button , the ID needs to be exact as the code. I can review it for you contact me here Vitzael.com and i will help you

@@wixepicsolutions you are really doing God's work here :). Please can I check something? We have a business directory website where people log in to review a business. This is using the WIX member's app (i think) as it all started with the WiX forum included as well but the Wix Forum is now deleted, so I guess it's just a 'current user' who logs in to be able to submit a review. We don't have the capability of businesses to add their business yet. Your video gives us a lot of information on this front and I can follow it entirely. I think after 4 months since I started with Wix, I am very familiar with Velo and the coding that goes into it and feel very comfortable adding code.
So I am feeling very confident about copying what you have done in this video for adding listings. My only question is, currently the website has members collection and I think its the read-only type of collection for members' public and private data. There is an existing businesses (like yours listings) collection I can create a new business-owners collection and do what you have done for businesses to add their listings. However, in terms of 'website logged-in users', if I create a separate login button for businesses exactly like you have done, and run it side by side with members/reviewers login , will it create any login issues for businesses or reviewers? Thank you for this tutorial. I was wondering if you have a video of searching the repeater of the listing showing options to search (the last bit of this video). for example. There is category of service and when a category is selected then in the next dropdown next to it, only services in that category drop down. I need about 4 dropdowns to be linked like this. The categories of services also appear when specific Area is selected. If you have a tutorial on something like this, could you please point me to it. Many thanks

Awesome video, thank you so much. I have one issue tho, the code for Login and Logout with profile Button, everything works, but after logging in I have to refresh the page in order to see the little Icon button. I tried on all the browsers and I have to refresh the page in order to see the Icon.

Hello. I've watched your video "Advanced Listing/Directory WIX Website" and have gotten to the point where I copy and paste the source code (32:00). I've gotten the source code from the pdf found on your website, but every time I copy it from that pdf I think something is going wrong because my button will not open the "Log In" status as yours did in the video after I published my site. Also, yours shows 69 lines but mine only shows 60. Could it be the formatting? I'm 100% a novice at all of this. I would appreciate any help you can provide please.

Additional settings I don't see also... I found it though as of today they have changed quite a bit. Also the login button i'm going to try with only wix login function already on site. Technically you don't have to buy a new domain or website, you can add to your existing site and if you prefer you can build a new site in the same account and thenn once ready move your premium plan to the new site.

Thank you for this detailed tutorial. At 36.06, after publishing the site, the button still show as logout. It doesn't change to login.
I ensured the button ID is properly named as 'loginButton' and button name is Logout.
Any help is appreciated.
First, check the handler on the button, second, refresh your temporary files or clear cookies, if this persist try deleting the button and adding it again, if you still need help send me a message here vitzael.com and i can help you troubleshoot it for you.

Are you trying to have people pay to add listings? or each listing to be able to take payment? The levels you can create connecting it to pricing plans in Wix can achieve charging for people to add a listings but not sure i understand your question, let me know.

Is anyone having trouble resetting the search bar after selecting a category on the listing page?
Depends on how you set it up. Recently Wix did an update that you dont need to use code but is basic let me know if you need help looking into it.
I have added the code for the login section and when I publish and then go to view it doesnt give me the log in option. page still says log out and nothing happens when I click the buttons.
Check if the handlers added, on click handler, also check there is no errors in the code, if you see any line on red that could be causing this, let me know if you still have questions.
@@wixepicsolutions yes both are showing on. I seen some red in code, changed caps to lower and now it is showing log in, but i click on log in and it doesnt do anything.

Can I separate the ability to input a new listing by separate member levels? (like, a gold member can add 3 new listing where a silver member can add only 1 new listing) How is it possible?. Anyway, You are an awesome mentor. Thanks in advance.
Hi, thank you for your comment it means a lot, yes it is possible to have different levels and for example you could have a basic level have less fields or restrict some things, you can also use code to hide and show items based on their level. I have another video but let me know if you need help

One Question - why a new visitor see the logout button as a default button where it should show login to a new visitor. And also please tell how to create a custom form in this case and there should be 2 login - one = buyer login and another= seller and there account should be different with each other. Please 🥺 tell
When creating the page the button is named logout because the code will change it to login, if you watched the whole video i have a section showing in detailed how to create a custom form but if you have questions let me know. I have checked and if you sign up once in your computer using social login most likely is saved that is why you see the logout button when opening the window.

That's the greatest run around to customize and debrid Wix, without maintenance of the code, all the efforts are going to vanish. It might work for few more mouths or years tho. Please, Danny update the code when you got time or make a quick video update. Everybody will appreciate that. It won't affect but is also not going to work because, using Wix members area is limited, this method creates the whole system and gives you more control
