I have to admit that this part around the balcony is not clear to me. If you wanted a nice view of the lake, you already have it. The way it looks now, it doesn't look safe or solid to me. The weight it has to carry is very small for what you thought and the overall look is not so good anymore. My opinion. Maybe I'm wrong. It's up to you to convince us that we're wrong.

I'm sorry but so far the balcony work looks very sloppy and unfinished to me. The planks should have been cut before and not after you screwed them to the support stringers. I'm also not so sure it can hold much weight. Be careful
