In our latest Kainchi dham travel vlog, we share our unforgettable journey from Delhi to Kainchi Dham with my wife and two kids in our Mahindra Scorpio N. Our trip turned into an adventurous 750 km drive due to a detour caused by a road blockage on the Delhi-Haridwar expressway.
Best way to Reach Kainchi Dham from Delhi by Road
Kainchi Dham is accessible by road from major cities like Delhi, Haldwani, and Nainital. The nearest railway station is in Kathgodam, about 37 kilometers away. Here's the suggested route we followed:
Route Summary: Delhi → Hapur → Moradabad → Rampur → Rudrapur → Haldwani → Bhimtal → Bhowali → Kainchi Dham.
About Kainchi Dham and Neem Karoli Baba
Established in 1964 by Neem Karoli Baba, a highly revered saint known for his spiritual teachings and miraculous deeds, Kainchi Dham is primarily dedicated to Lord Hanuman. Neem Karoli Baba's deep devotion to Hanuman and his profound teachings have attracted followers worldwide, including notable personalities like Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, and Julia Roberts, who found inspiration in their visits to Kainchi Dham.
Our Experience at Kainchi Dham
Excited for our maiden trip to Kainchi Dham, we arrived at the temple in the afternoon. We parked our car at the temple parking spot and purchased prasads from the shoe deposit counter. Upon entering the temple premises, we were struck by its cleanliness and the serene environment.
Situated at an altitude of about 1,400 meters (4,600 feet) above sea level, Kainchi Dham is nestled in the lush green hills of Kumaon, on the banks of the Kosi River, adding to its tranquility and natural beauty. The ashram houses the samadhi (final resting place) of Neem Karoli Baba, where devotees offer their respects and seek blessings.
Facilities and Accommodations
The ashram provides basic accommodation and food for devotees. However, due to its popularity, it is advisable to arrange accommodation in nearby towns like Nainital or Bhowali during peak times.

If you see on google maps kainchi dham shows two locations and different routes better put Bhimtal on maps and once you reach Bhimtal search for kainchi dham from there and you will find kainchi dham in 20 mins distance
