Hi Megan What length is your sewing stitch? I notice that your strips are not separating . I really hate slowing down to back stitch and would appreciate your input on your stitch length. Thanks!
I sew with a really small stitch length-1.6 or 1.8. I feel like it makes my seams a little stronger especially since I like to press open. I don’t bother to backstitch for the most part but I try to remember when I’m assembling the final rows or a quilt and I know that seam will be on the edge of a quilt.
Sadly, yes! I made this video quite a while ago and was still learning a lot! I did make another video about it when I quilted it and there are photos of it on the website where you can download the pattern. Maybe I should redo this quilt someday and update the video!
@@TinyOrchardQuilts Nope...they're strips!! You're confusing a string quilt pattern with the term strip. BTW I organize my scrapes and group different size strips (from 1-1/2" to 3"). Your pattern would be sooo easy for me to make. Thank you for the inspiration.

Sure! You could just cut the jelly roll up into lengths that you'd like the strips to be :)

Yes! I’ve heard it both ways. I usually think of strips as 2.5” width of fabric cuts but strings as any size long skinny scraps.
