  • This is the first episode of the urban quailer series. This series was designed to show you how to start raising quail from square one, as you follow me step by step in establishing your flock and overall system. And how you can get EVERYTHING you need shipped to your home. That's right, you don't even need to go to the store.

I drove up to Wynola Ranch to get my first quail. Great owners and beautiful property. So glad you are helping promote their cages. I think the cage design is brilliant and the quality is top notch.

Great resource for newbies like us. I found your channel while researching our intent to start now. You answered many questions and the cages look perfect.

Awesome video! I finally got my quail eggs a couple weeks back from KC quail farm. 15 of the 45 eggs hatched and only 10 of the chicks have made it so far. Not bad for the first time I think. Gonna order some more eggs in June and hopefully I'll have enough birds to get a steady flow of eggs, meat for a couple meals a week, and have some breeders as well. Thanks again for the encouragement! How much of the vinegar with mother do you add to the water? I want to make sure I'm getting the amount right.

Not too bad for your first time. And I believe it's one tablespoon to a gallon if I remember right.

Can I house 2 bobwhite quails (northern) with A&M quails?

If they are raised together as chicks then I see no problem with it.

You can try, it would probably be just like introducing new coturnix to your existing coturnix. They may get along and they may not. All you can do is put them together and see. If you do then I would do it at night in the pitch black so they just wake up together.
