Sadly so, and unfortunately something we must do. For it is within the best interest to fight not out of hate but rather with love. And a want to bring the peace we've so needed. Unity at its' core revolves around harmony between all, but as it stands it is unreachable. So, I say, if it's blood that must be shed for us to finally be at peace, then it is a sacrifice that must be made. And a self-sacrifice so that our future can be bright, for all, not just some while others watch from below. Let those that sacrifice themselves for a bright future be remembered for as long as we as a species live.

    We were friends
    Best friends.
    We were neighbors
    Always getting into mischief.
    We weren’t the smartest
    Nor the strongest.
We longed to serve our country,
In a war that would make history.
    At age 18
    We packed and got deployed
    It felt like old times
When we played guns in our backyards
    Or in the playgrounds.
    But it was different now.
    Instead of stick-em caps,
    It was bullets.
    Real bullets.
    The grenadine was thrown
    Right into our small dugout.
    It all happened so fast.
    Three seconds ago
    We were opening-fire.
    And now.....
    There *I* was.
    Dead.
With my intestines spread all out on the ground
    Like spaghetti on a plate.
    Mike panicked.
    He screamed.
I was standing right there, Trying to reach him.
    To tell him
    I was right here.
    And the gates of Heaven
    Swung open.
    Two angels
    Walked down the stairs.
    They offered to
    Walk me up
    But I refused to leave.
    To leave
    My only friend.
    To leave
    Him alone.
    To leave him
    To forever live
    Without me.
    To leave him.
    To leave at all.
    To
    Leave
    Him
    To
    Die
    Old
    And
    Alone.

We marched out onto the ridge.
    The boys n’ me.
We were seen as a glimmer of hope.
    As the 131st infantry.
No one would expect what we fought.
The horror, and death the enemy sought.
I looked over at these boys.
    Some younger than 18.
    Fear.
    Bravery.
    Tears.
We were pinned, bullets flyin’ all round us.
The captain called for an advance.
The boys knew for some, it would be their last.
They all rose over the top, into no mans land.
    The cry of the whistle.
Followed by the cry of a boy.
Pierced his flesh a bullet had.
Only 16 and cut short of life
The charge went on, so it seems
Left and right boys feel to their knees.
    Hollering.
“Momma, momma!! I wanna go home!”
    *crack*
    *thud*
    Silenced.
More and more fell, round me and the boys next to me.
Another 5 yards. Another 10 boys.
    A whistle through the sky.
Yet not one of an angels cry.
    An explosion so fierce
It launched their spirits to heaven straight.
    I fell.
Looked around and began to see.
Only one other boy was with me.
    His name was John.
He looked at me with fear
He asked “do we move on?”
I looked, and said “No. You’re going to make it, John.”
Yet as we lay in this hole.
    Surrounded by our boys ten-fold.
    The beast crept forward.
    John and I looked skyward.
Praying for a slight chance of survival.
    John skeptical, pleaded to retreat.
    I agreed.
Just before we made it back
    I heard one single crack.
    And the sound of hope
Being snapped, like a circle of rope.
John fell into the trench, as did I.
    I looked into his eyes.
17, underage. Glossed over, tears in his eyes. Coughed, and his last breath said the name of his girl.
    “Charlotte...”
I closed his eyes, and looked round.
The only one left of the proud 131st.
    Me.
    No brass. No boys.
    Just ole Richard.
    Broken, and alone.
The war to end all wars, ended nothing.

you have to understand hell is the place where the damned and wicked end up..
In war, it doesn’t matter what nation you take part in or are enslaved in, what colors you wear, what helmet you have strapped onto you, what language tou speak, what the color of your skin is, who you are, what you are, everyone, everything dies. The equalizer death reaches its rotting hands wherever it can reach, powered by the greed, anger, and humanity.

“The war’s gone stale, and I ain’t headin’ home till I pierce the hearts of the hun, I’ll be home soon to meet our daughter, I love you dearly” I wrote before discretely folding the paper and stuffing it in my coat. Heavy waves of rain began to shower on our helmets with distinct crackles and mud sucked onto our boots. A young man stumbled his way from the support lines and handed my lieutenant a small note. He unfolded it quickly and I could see the change in expression, we were next up in line for the assault after “A” company. He had no time to sit in his dread “Get Read Men!!!” He shouted, and not to long after, you could hear the metal bolts of rifles click, ready to take another man’s life. I could hear my heartbeat in my ears, and it was louder than ever before. I locked eyes with my buddy Jenkins as we both know this may be the last time we would ever see each other alive. Suddenly we were interrupted by the lieutenant “This is our time men, we will fight for ourselves, our families, and our country. There is no greater honor.” He again fell shortly silent and we all anticipated the order that would change our lives forever. The adrenaline and rain made my lips cold as I saw his hands reach for the whistle. “This is it” Jenkins quietly murmured. “Yes…” I could say no more words, the fear was too great. He yet continued to look at me as if I was to finish the sentence.
Moments later.. the whistle shrieked throughout the front line and men tore up the ladders nearly stumbling and cracks of gunfire rang out. My limbs fell nearly paralyzed as I myself climbed up the ladder. I reached the top and was shoved over by the men behind me in a hurry to get to the surface. They stomped over me and moments later after passing me, one was shot and collapsed into the mud. And that.. felt like the loudest shot in the world over all others. After getting my grips from the near complete control from shock, I crawled forward sliding in the mud, and slid further down into a shell crater. I was so afraid, my chin dug into the mud and I could taste the gunpowder and dirt fill my mouth.
After gaining the courage, I sat up on my knees and fired a shot toward the German lines, and I was promptly met with machine gun fire. All missed but one, tearing through my left side.
I fell back into the shell crater and spewed blood so quickly I couldn’t breathe. I looked up helplessly and saw Jenkins dismount the top of the ladder and ran passed the crater. I tried screaming for him, but only more a fountain of blood left my mouth onto my face. I knew he was dead, another round of machine gun fire echoed and I heard a slap on the mud. More waves of men came flying out of the trenches and passed me, medics behind them and they noticed me and were quick to dive in.
“Hell I’m done for” I coughed. I could see from their eyes they knew my fate as I did. I ripped my coat pocket open and handed them the folded note. One took it and stuffed it in his bag.
“Tell Hailie daddy will be watching over her, I’m coming home….. daddy will be coming home”

    Talked about the future
    Danced

    When i was a 3 year old
My father wrote His last words
    "Im goin Goin home tonight"
I remember my Grandfather Being a man on his 90s
    My grandfather once said
"I had my gun aimed at the forehead of a German, he was begging me to not pull the trigger
He was crying, so much that he showed me a picture of one woman and 4 Kids
Having a picture with him, He said while crying he has kids, and i shot him in the head without letting him finish his Last words. On that day i regretted everything

War is what makes us stronger, while pacifism only serves to dull the nation's strength. So do not fear or hate war. War is the great equalizer, from which everything can be won, and everything can be lost, where all pretenses are dropped, where an entire people prove their worth to history.

I was shown two pictures of the same person, one before he went to fight in the trenches of World War One, and one after. Before, he was a young and handsome man, with a brightness to his eyes and a smile upon a youthful face. After, there were wrinkles upon his face, as if he aged twenty years in the span of less than four. The brightness in his eyes was gone, replaced by a horrified soul trying to keep the nightmares at bay. The worst part was that he was no longer smiling. I don't know if he ever smiled again.
I have never served in the military, nor have I ever seen war up close. I could never truly define what war is, but those two photos gave me a glimpse.

When I entered the military academy, some years ago, I wanted to serve people, to leave a testimony of my own existence. A part of me knew that I was mean to help them in natural disasters and peacekeeping missions, because my country had not had a war in more than a century. Even so, I did the commandos and mountain courses.
When I heard about Islamic State for the first time, I realised that I did not join the Army because I just wanted to serve my country, but all the innocents, without considering frontiers. So I leave the army and entered to a vet organisation that offered security to refugees.
I spent almost a year in Syria and Jordania, I lived a lot and I learnt the true nature of mankind, the true meaning of suffering, of human filth. There is nothing heroic in war, even when I was able to save and help people, I had my hands covered with blood, sadly. The time has passed and the scars had dessapeared, it was difficult to see the light in life again when I returned, it was difficult to make the time goes on again, but at least I can sleep (sometimes) thinking that at least once in my life I did something for somebody else.

      Miss u bro
And this is the type of music I use to go to sleep wishing and hoping for my turn in the marines
