Oh my gosh....this is adorable! I get together with my sister in law for crafting and one year we crafted Christmas ornament gnomes. Me, too! Dealing with hurricane Idalia today (just the outer bands where I am, south of its landfall) ... but most of my life I was up north, and I miss the Autumn colors! (but not the snow, LOL, although snow art is beautiful.)

Funny because I absolutely love the color of the Meden brushes. They look so refreshing and inviting to me. That's what makes the world go round right!
You have a good point, I should be more open minded about colour of brushes, they are just so unusual!!! They are actually great brushes to use, I do recommend them!

I love this adorable painting! I wish it wasn’t 100+ degrees here so I can get in the mood for autumn paintings. Tip for your baskets- you can cut strips of mesh canvas (like the ones used for embroidery and yarn crafts) and put it in your basket. Then fold over the walls to cover it - just make sure to crochet the walls double the height you want the walls to be).This will give your baskets a little bit of structure and they will be a little sturdier.
Love the painting. The kind of thing I like to do. I could see me using the water brushes. I think that they would cut down on the paint splashing onto anything on my table as I paint. The only surface I have is the kitchen table. Thank you for going through the Meeden products. I have the paints and really like them. I had a painting I could not get what I wanted and I reworked it once in a while for a couple weeks and finally was happy with it. The paints and the paper stood up well under all that reworking.
This is absolutely gorgeous as always… I live in Sweden and I don’t want anymore cold, rain or wind this summer. It’s been a disaster when I think of the weather. Would have loved to have had a little sun and warm weather 😊❤️🇸🇪

I just finished the renovation of my little "painting room" in our house, my own little studio. So now this will be the first painting to be done there. Thank you for the inspiration, I really love the little gnom!
This is so cute!!!!!!! You are able to put the expressions on the figures you paint so well. I haven't learned how to do that yet. This is a picture with a story and would be a perfect beginning for a story in a children's book. I collect children's books sometimes (the child within me) so I just love the possibility of a real story here.

My 21th. Instead of reading a newspaper with my first cup of coffee I watched and listened to the gnoom world and the escape of Gabriël 😅😂. Although I am not familiair to the gnoom world it changed a little bit watching and maybe someday I will paint it. It surtenly is autumnly 😊.thanks for distracting me from the real world for about an hour. I have some meeden products, even the big cirkel pallet and some little once. Diane you've made me laugh a number of times whilst showing your Meeden items. Dare I say a bull in a china shop? LOL. I think I can because I am also a bull... Constantly dropping things, banging into items in my studio, and so much more-Ha! I just pick up, toss, or reassemble and continue on. I admit to being a Klutz my entire life.Hahaha. I just love the adorable scene you've drawn and painted with the water brushes. You made good use of them within this painting. I have tended to push a little too much water out, but now I am doing much better by being more careful with the squeezing. Overall, I prefer my best paintbrushes for most things. I have mostly Princeton, Black Velvet, and a lovely set by Lindsay Weirich. So you are also going to make your own line of brushes. Can't wait to have you tell us more or perhaps I missed that video? I've also used Zen and others. I'm still getting used to the softer watercolor brushes and have come to love them. In addition to loving your painting, I have watched closely to continue to learn and appreciate your loose style with regard to most of your other paintings. I'm practicing those techniques just as you show and have gotten quite good with it. I do like an occasional detailed painting also like buildings and tall castle like towers. I'm very much into old stories (children's) and did a cute outline of a scene in little red riding hood. You are one of my biggest stars in watercolors. Thank you so much. XOXOJANE

Hi Diane, what a great video. If it was me, I would not have the patience to redraw the sketch, I would just take a photo with my phone and put it on the website. You are a very patient person. Ha, ha.
By the way, let us be very thankful for our weather. There is a hurricane going on in Florida, USA right now. It's not affecting me, here in Miami, but on the western border of Florida, people's homes are flooded and some are getting destroyed completely as the hurricane is crossing across the northern Florida. YIKES!!! It's interesting what different artists use to store their brushes in. I prefer tins (bean tins to be exact), which I decoupaged with pretty napkins earlier this year. Tins are sturdy and will not blow over easily outdoors (in south Florida in the wintertime when the weather is nice and it doesn't rain) and if they get knocked off, they don't break. That's always an important consideration with 3 cats around. Lastly, the water brushes you are using today, I was introduced to when I purchased watercolor coloring pencils. but, that's a good idea to use them for the background colors. Hi and yes, we are grateful it isn’t as dramatic here as it is in Florida - although our winters can be extremely windy too and last year we lost a roof in a gale which caused a lot of damage. Still waiting for it to be repaired! Tins are a good idea for brushes etc. I have some metal containers too, I have a collection of jugs and other pots and baskets. It’s part of the fun!

This is so adorable! I could use a little Fall right about now. In Florida where it is 100 degrees a day and just had a Hurricane. We won't see Fall for another couple months. If you put a pumpkin pie out for Halloween, you might end up with pumpkin pie 🤣

That’s a good idea, I’ll see if I can find some canvas - I think I have some that was bought to use for art, that might work!

I've also used Zen and others. I'm still getting used to the softer watercolor brushes and have come to love them.
In addition to loving your painting, I have watched closely to continue to learn and appreciate your loose style with regard to most of your other paintings. I'm practicing those techniques just as you show and have gotten quite good with it. I do like an occasional detailed painting also like buildings and tall castle like towers. I'm very much into old stories (children's) and did a cute outline of a scene in little red riding hood. You are one of my biggest stars in watercolors. Thank you so much. XOXOJANE

By the way, let us be very thankful for our weather. There is a hurricane going on in Florida, USA right now. It's not affecting me, here in Miami, but on the western border of Florida, people's homes are flooded and some are getting destroyed completely as the hurricane is crossing across the northern Florida. YIKES!!!
It's interesting what different artists use to store their brushes in. I prefer tins (bean tins to be exact), which I decoupaged with pretty napkins earlier this year. Tins are sturdy and will not blow over easily outdoors (in south Florida in the wintertime when the weather is nice and it doesn't rain) and if they get knocked off, they don't break. That's always an important consideration with 3 cats around.
Lastly, the water brushes you are using today, I was introduced to when I purchased watercolor coloring pencils. but, that's a good idea to use them for the background colors. Thank you for sharing this use.

Hi and yes, we are grateful it isn’t as dramatic here as it is in Florida - although our winters can be extremely windy too and last year we lost a roof in a gale which caused a lot of damage. Still waiting for it to be repaired! Tins are a good idea for brushes etc. I have some metal containers too, I have a collection of jugs and other pots and baskets. It’s part of the fun!

This is so adorable! I could use a little Fall right about now. In Florida where it is 100 degrees a day and just had a Hurricane. We won't see Fall for another couple months. If you put a pumpkin pie out for Halloween, you might end up with pumpkin pie 🤣
