A look at the the 100 lowest rated PS2 games - as ranked by MetaCritic.
This is a bit of an odd collection; while there are indeed some games that will never rise above "cheaply/quickly made product" status - there are a few titles that I personally think don't deserve to be on this bottom 100.
If you are not familiar with Metacritic, it creates a Metascore for a game by averaging out the scores of several published reviews of said game. So, think of it as a "general reception" of a game. It's also important to note that MetaCritic won't rank a game if it does not have a minimum number of published reviews, which omits a large number of late-life released PS2 titles (and lots of shovelware). - Hry

A typo at 13:35. The metascore for The Sopranos game is supposed to be 42, not 41.
@@ObiKKa i don't care about the metacritic after a scoring a game, my truth is im hate this the guy game, poker, hard rock casino, and even the worst first person shooter game.
I still Can't believe titles like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Gundam Battle Assault 3, Gundam Seed Never Ending Tommorow, Shadow the Hedgehog and Eureka Seven considered as some of the Worst game in PS2. Because they're some of my favorites. That's why i don't always agree with Metacritic. But still you put great effort on this list Gary. Great job ❤❤❤

Also this goes to show that you should not always trust what the critics say, so if you like a game, don't be afraid to enjoy it because the critics or other people say otherwise :)
Wow, a lot of the worst games on the PS2 are still fun to play. That really says something about how good the PS2 library is.

I don't get why sega classics collection was rated so badly. Those remakes are mostly really cool.
If these are the wort, then it would seem to indicate that the whole library was pretty good indeed, because I se many of these as being quite desirable to try.
The PS2/Early PS3 era were the last of those Hollywood movie based games.
Infinite World and Predator Concrete Jungle are great games, most games on this list are just mediocre.
Wow. Didn't expect DBZ Infinite Worlds or Red Ninja to be ranked bad.
As far as the fighting mechanics. Infinite world was simply the best Budokai.
same with dynasty warriors 6 i thought they all were high ranked games
Red Ninja has a worse control scheme than Tenchu, and Tenchu is already jank. I wouldn't say it's top 100 terrible, but it sure isn't good or above average at all.
Blade II and Predator Concrete Jungle was absolutely fine.
Both those games combined would sell for over 100 bucks on ebay

I think a few of the games on the list are really good especially final fight streetwise. Metacritic scores are really bad at times but I suppose its just what people prefer. Have a great new year gary buddy 🙂👍

there are like 4000 games on ps2 and like 5-10% of scam with US show games, I think metacritic never test them haha

Metacritic sucks, lots of decent games on this list, and some actually good ones. And then you look at the better ones and there's Tony Hawk's 3 at the top (fun game, but absolutely not one of the best ps2 titles ever) and Grand Turismo 3 better than 4, GTA III better than Vice City and San Andreas🙄
I'm not a fan of YuGiOh! but i don't know why i put alot of times and daya playing it and they put it on worst PS2 games,,, this is BS😮💨
This is why we do not have many different genre of video games in 2024 or at least a wide array of titles such as these average to semi-decent video games--- dev's and QA groups see these kind of subjective lists and don't want to make the next Parapa the Rapper or the Getaway for example. Metacritic almost single handedly destroyed the niche video game market; people nowadays would rather watch TV, stream XXX material on the web, read a science-fiction novel or simply unplug by spending time outdoors.

It's crazy how these bad games are so horrible but if they had come out one or 2 generations prior, they'd be excellent. I've played and own quite a few games on multiple systems that people say are terrible but yet I love them. I guess it all depends on how much you get paid to review a game. 😒

3:24 i can't believe dbZ infinite world has a rating this low cuz it's basically Budokai 3 but better. They removed dragon rush and the story mode i million times better with more cutscenes and things to do and the roster added GT characters too

Looking at the other comments here, there appear to be quite a few of you DragonBall Z Infinite World fans who are wondering why it's on this list.
Well, looking at the MetaCritic page www.metacritic.com/game/dragon-ball-z-infinite-world/ we can see several excerpts:
GameDaily: (who scored it 40): If the lame "fetch" quests don't bore you, the ridiculously bad mini-games will. Buy one of the earlier releases (for half the price, if not cheaper) and leave this World behind.
IGN (who scored it 35) - "The sound's repetitive, the graphics are shoddy, and the gameplay isn't fun. Do not play Dragon Ball Z: Infinite World."
Game Revolution (who scored it 25): "There’s very little reason to pick up Dragonball Z: Infinite World. Even Dragonball fans will likely find that the only allure is the fighting, but if that’s the case, they’re better off popping back in Budokai 3 or anything that doesn’t force them to do side-chores."

Trust me. This game is not even as half bad as they make it out to be. If they hate the gameplay of infinite world u might as well hate all the Budokai games. And the mini games in the world map are great side quests and challenges and they're not something u have to do like training mini games and open area platforming time trails

I find it funny not seeing "NARC" (the remake), "Fallout: Brotherhood Of Steel" and/or any of Phoenix-DDI games here... a second helping in the future, perhaps? and while I admit "State Of Emergency 2" and "Sega Classics Collection" are indeed junk, with enough time given to 'em they can grow to become guilty pleasures... did for me, LOL! have yourselves a prosperous 2024, everyone!

Some of the ones with the Metascore in the 40s are actually decent such as DBZ Infinite Worlds and Beat Down.
Shadow the Hedgehog and Dynasty Warriors 6 are extremely polarizing games so your mileage may vary on those.
So you care about what some random critic says rather than judging games on your own? This isn't even an opinion of Gary, read description. Don't trust critics, what they say isn't always the truth. I haven't watched this list but I am pretty sure my point will still stand even after I have watched it.

Dragon Ball Z Sagas, Digimon World 4, The Guy Game, Catwoman, Simpsons Skateboarding, and Looney Tunes: Acme Arsenal are ones I know are absolute crap.
I should never avoiding my favourite video games like Dynasty warriors 6, shadow the hedgehog, gundam battle assault 3, and cartoon network racing.

IGN gave it a score of 40. A part of their review: "The inability to drift still sucks, but now, there's no reason to attempt to legitimately progress through the game since you can avoid these races entirely, and rivals aren't challenging either."
G4 TV gave it a score of 20: "Basically, Drift 2 feels like a repackaging of the original Drift, with almost nothing done to improve on the myriad problems of the prequel."
GameSpot gave it a 52: "Tedious gameplay, poor vehicle handling, and an unfriendly interface are just a few reasons why you should leave this game in the bargain bin."

I agree with your comment; I tried the Sony PS3 version and I found it pretty difficult and gothic...maybe that is why the inferior Sony PS2 version tanked !? Alone in the Dark and the Driver series definitely need to make a comeback.
