Was Mae thrown under the bus!!!!! i was in the arena for the sat afternoon Rehearsal and she sounded AMAZING.. the crowd was vibing it was so good.. then i went to the fan park to watch the final on the screens, the whole park was electic when she came on ... honestly thought we would do so much better then second last! it seems so odd! i love love the song and Mae ... its a banger!
The problem was simple - in the arena, and the village, thousands were singing along. That wasn't something they were going to particularly turn the volume up on, for the actual TV broadcast. We were all shoring her up.
So if the juries had this kind of sound mix on their show then no wonder we got points. What the rest of Europe heard was not this, which must be devastating when she watches it back.
We came 2nd to last but with one of the most memorable entries of the year! One of the very few performances that stole the show except from Käärijä of course and Alessandra and others but the audience reactions are AMAZING PEOPLE!
The sound on this is better than the sound transmitted by the BBC! It sounded way too quiet and lifeless, and took away a lot of the appeal of the song. Maybe that's why it did so badly.
I think this year the BBC screwed up on sound quality cos I noticed that I had to turn the volume up on my tv a lot louder than normal to hear at my usual level. And some acts that sounded great in their national final such as Ukraine sounded more off. Unpopular opinion but I think the BBC should have done better here
I low key wished her team were more innovative with the staging concept. Some of the things in the MV could’ve been incorporated on the stage. The backdrop of her face and nail’s didn’t really tell us about the song’s message.
Here you can hear that she sounded great!! On TV or the official video her mic was set low and she was sabotaged big time!! Shame on the sound mixers!! Even this acapela would have been better that what the sound mixing did!! And she didn’t even need backing vocals!!
Thank you Mae for giving us these vibes. Such a bop. Feels weird coming second to last, but being proud? Not something we’ve felt much over recent years (apart from Sam!)
Maybe they danced to not embarrass her, or because the music is indeed very fun, but she didn't sing well and it wasn't just the fault of the volume on TV
Una gran canción y buena puesta en escena, una lastima que no la apoyarán como debía ser, pero de que puso al poblico en alto lo hizo, bien hecho por mae
The sound was very disappointing on the TV broadcast. You couldn't even hear the crowd reaction. Check out Spain from last year 2022 and how the crowd reaction was blended in. It made the performance all the more exciting. The UK was not going to win anyway (if that was their fear) so why not give us a performance we can treasure for years to come. I've complained about Italy as hosts before but at least they had the audio done correctly.
I will be brutally honest, but it's not mae's fault. It's down to her manager. Mae was never going to do well at eurovision. Her voice is not ready Yet and I emphasise the word yet. She is falling into the pop trap of using autotune to record vocals. So many artists get lazy when they use autotune. It's a quick fix. Now look up any floor jansen song on CZcams. The difference is vast. Floor never uses autotune. She has put in years of hard work and proper training every single day. There are no shortcuts. You got to take it 1 day at a time to get good. Mae is simply not ready yet. She needs a few years of intense proper training from a tutor who actually knows what the hell they are doing. She will get there in due time, but she needs to ditch her management and get there the hard way. It's a long term investment. The record industry wants instant results yesterday. It takes years and decades. The longer she holds out the better her voice will get. Like I said, not mae's fault, it's her manager's fault.
How did this come across much better than the TV output? It sounded flat on the broadcast, but it’s a lot better here.
Said exactly the same!! Bbc did her dirty
Bad audio mixing, even Loreen's vocals sounded lower on tv

It’s my most played song from ESC this year, great song, but unfortunately the performance on TV wasn’t that good sorry….
This sounds amazing but watching it on the bbc it sounded crap. The atmosphere and everything here is so much better
This sounds so much better than on TV? 🫤
No it doesn't
It does! Audience helps to sing
Extremely underrated
agreeee

This vibe is amazing, she is my winner ❤

@@cultfiction3865 Agreed.
WTF IT SOUNDS SO MUCH BETTER 🤔

It also looks better visually. Some of the Camera Ankles ijnthe TV Versions were a bit ankward.

the last part was sick because of uneven volume of the right and left speakers. if you listen all video clips, this explains what happened at stream
That conga line, though!
great
I would've definitely voted for this if I was foreign 😂
FANTASTIC ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥

Absolutely did not deserve her placement
