Kinda hard to steal a vehicle when it breaks down on the highway….
Completely true, when it comes to many of the models in this video. Great video though 👍
😂😂
Kia and Hyundai should have been here then
@@user-vs7iq3pn2u Nah .. They’re still in their driveways with their engines on fire…
@@user-vs7iq3pn2uWell, Kias and Hyundais are so insanely easy to steal that the thieves will take their chances! 😂 If one breaks down, there’s another one within easy reach!
I purposely bought a 20 year old Nissan Frontier pick up truck in an excellent condition that has a 5 speed manual transmission. I removed that shifter knob that had the shift pattern on it and replaced it with a smooth knob. No one in my family can operate a manual shirt and it's clutch, so it NEVER gets "borrowed"... 😅
I have the same truck and yes, this is my tactic also!
I drove 3 different cars over 39 years that had a manual transmission. Now i drive a 22 accord. No stick shift available.
I guess there is no Tesla supercharging network in the African countries where these stolen vehicles end up.
Teslas resale values are among the worst and thieves steal cars they can make the most money on.
Definitely not!
😂😂
Also, all the Northern American EVs, including U.S. spec Teslas, are incompatible with the charger ports of all other countries
Heh, I am a 59 Year Old man, and I have only owned, or used, a manual transmission only. I refer to the manual transmission a "Passive Anti-Theft Device".
My current car is a 1999 Toyota Corolla, I bought it new, and I payed the dealer in CA$H, and got a {heck} of a discount!
I am ALSO 59 and have only driven manual trans cars and trucks since 1991. They are too fun to drive to ever drive an automatic again. My current car is a 2012 Ford Focus, and without the auto trans issues its been a fantastic car and a lot of fun to drive. I agree on the anti-theft aspect of it. Heck, most of them can't even spell "manual."
Even thieves don't want EVs.
I would love to get a manual transmission, but they are so hard to find anymore.
you can still find them if you buy a fun car, many are even offered only in manual
There are numerous vehicles with manual transmission which sit on lots and are next to impossible to get rid of
They are still very popular in Europe.
@@midcenturymodern9330 they're "popular " because nobody can afford a car with automatic transmission and engine over 1.3L
Because all your money gone to the nazi ukriane
I will sell you mine . I am in Florida, Scion XA
The defender is not stolen because the thief is afraid it will break down before they get away
By that logic, then why is the Range Rover one of the most stolen cars? 😂
@@carhelpcorner
😂
Vehicles no one can afford to steal.
I worked at a police department and most vehicles that have been stolen is because the keys were left in the vehicle. So I reality the car wasn’t stolen, it was given away. Stop leaving your keys in the car. 😉
Another great video Shari! 😊
All vehicles should have a security PIN option like Tesla. Getting notifications about tampering or lurking around your is also helpful.
Or you can bring back law and order. Something lacking in the last four years.
The problem with the drive pin is that if the infotainment fails, the car aint going anywhere.
@@migmigjohnson9351 "The infotainment", as in, the central screen, controls most of the cars essential systems; calling it just "infotainment" is like calling a Nasa Computer a Playstation.
PIN or no PIN, if that screen is down you have a hard time in general - because in most cases if that screen is black the car is completely shut down.
That usually involves massive force though, aka a rough accident of some sort.
Long story short, I dare question your "knowledge" about how a car in general and a Tesla in particular really functions and when it does and doesn´t work. Bottom line: it´s a car. A car that operates differently in several aspects than most other cars, but the essence is the same: crippling bugs and or damage is not something Tesla invented.
@@UglyFaceOnAStick-iz8bt you can't ever eliminate crime, no matter how much of a police state you want to live in. what you can do is make things safer for yourself.
battery car? 😂😂😂😂
Great video!
After watching a bunch of car vid son quality, theft, etc I'm so happy with my Mazda CX-3...
It's a interesting list. I could definitely see why a thief might have a lack of enthusiasm in lifting one of them. Ranging from the mentioned layers of anti theft to the just plain ugly. Happy to report all of my cars are more desirable.
Great video! Fun stats. Another criteria to consider. Discounting Tesla, looks like a stick shift Volvo SUV is a good bet.
I had an 84 Ford Escort that I could park anywhere, it was absolutely glued to the pavement. What thief would be caught dead driving an Escort? Thieves apparently feel the same way about electric cars and many overseas buyers see electric cars as what they are, a mistake. An over priced impractical nerdmoble. The low resale value of electric cars reveals their true value. Electric cars are disposable unrecyclable cars with hazardous waste batteries which will turn scrapyards into toxic waste dumps.
Hey Shari! I take comfort that my next vehicle (as well as my current car) qualifies for this list since they're both manual transmissions.
If possible, it would be great to get your impressions on the 2024 Acura Integra Type S .
Thanks for your excellent videos! Fabulous content!
Thanks so much! I had the Type S during a horrible week of winter weather so I didn't get much of a sense of how good it really was. I remember loving the shifter, power, seats, and general comfort. I plan to test it properly in the coming months!
@@carhelpcorner Looking forward to it!
Manual transmission cars can still be stolen. I haven’t driven a manual in 15/16 years but I can drive one. I may be slow, but I can get it out fast enough.
I have the IGLA installed. You have to weigh the risk and inconvenience of getting your vehicle stolen vs any denial of warranty claim as low as that may be. The IGLA though very expensive buys you peace of mind.
Thanks for the feedback!
Car thieves have good taste
Plus once they break into a Tesla, how do they start it?
I am glad you mentioned manual transmissions as an anti theft device it's totally analog at stops car thief's in there tracks and we have only one car stolen many years ago and it was manual we got the car back and we fitted an emboliser to it but l own an extremely anolog 1997 Toyota Hilux and it is manual and l love driving it and l have owned manual and automatic cars but the best deterent to car thefts is analog mechanical devices also EVs who would want to steel an EV
Subaru is a surprise
While Subaru is certainly a surprise but in my experience it has been a gas guzzler cum a white elephant. I have a 6 cyclinder Tribeca (2010 model) with 257KMs on it. Gives only 440 kms to one tank of gas (60 liters). Regret the purchase 😞
I have an under powered 2021 impreza,.(0-60 in 9.5 sec) and its an "notchty" manual.
@@user-zs1if4hj4h You happy with your Subi?
not really it just means Thieves a choosy . The reality is if a Thief wants your car they will have it the tech is out there to bypass all vehicle security systems including Tesla the only way to stop a car being stolen these days is to remove the steering wheel or the drive wheels.
Because none wants a Subaru outside North America
Do electrical vehicles give away location when charging?
Can't steal a Range Rover when it breaks down before the end of the street
Yes then most would not know how to start my Austin 3ton truck no door locks but then how many in this age know what a crank handle is or what a mechanical spark advance is or how to switch fuel from kerosene to petrol for start up
I also found a manual keeps friends from wanting to borrow my truck!😁
Low resale demand. Low theft rate. It is economics.
I beg to differ when people are jacking Hyundais and Kias left and right.
@@longjonsilvernuts low resale value in Canada. Good resale value in other continents.
Some of these models have very high depreciation that makes resale less profitable.
The same model with bad resale value in North America may have good resale value in other continents
My sister’s bf bought a manual as a form of theft prevention after his previous car was stolen 😂
Ford Maverick who would want one especially a hybrid!
Aren't manual transmission more popular in Europe?
99% of theives are 13%ers in the US
Sorry I should have specified that the anti-theft benefit is only applicable to North America.
Legends with MT cars...Hold my 🍺 😂😂😂
I had a Kia Forte with a stick shift. Someone tried to steal it last June and got stymied by the stick shift.
All of these are so undesirable, of course no one would want to steal them (Except for the rare manual transmission)! If I could get a manual on anything, I would. I'm not interested in ANY new car, except perhaps the Mazda MX5 and it MUST be a manual! My dream car is an 'old' C6 Z06 Corvette in really nice shape, and yes- it only comes with a 6spd manual.
They avoid them because the parts are not in high demand … they are only a few of them around
Granted, Teslas are rarely stolen but oftentimes the most vandalized by haters!
If heard about this, some North American citizens really have it out for Tesla. Pathetic, if you ask me. But then again, there´s much in NA that qualifies under that banner. And pettily damaging some cars you somehow feel a hatred for doesn´t even make the top of the list here.
My anti theft solution A 5 speed and a 1.6 liter 4 cyl
Yep its a Lo Brid
Once you look at insurance rates, it tells the story, and exactly why I have a 2024 trailblazer.
Wise Car thieves for sure watch your contents. 😅
if you can get a Defender to run long enough without breaking down then it would be worth the while for car thieves
Are we taking into account the # of these vehicles are sold. I can assure you that Subaru is not that popular (compared to a Civic or Corolla) in the US
It's all relative, if a company sells 1 vehicle and it's stolen, there is a 100% theft rate.
Did you watch the video? He DID cover that.
A Vehicle is Stolen . Where does it go from there ??? Will you produce an episode of the stolen car markets ?
I'd assume that they go to other countries where they can't be traced, or destroyed for parts.
How about the Mitsubishi Outlander?
I can only dream about an F150-250-350 with a manual transmission rather then the current quirky 10 speed autos. My last pickups with manual was an early '80s Toy and a late '80s F150. Or the Mustang GT - Sighhhhh. The only manual I've driven in the past few years was in Europe
The thieves are worried about Tesla's savage depreciation!
even thieves don't want that garbage
I dont think that a Tesla charger will work on a stolen car???
Speculating here: if the car is reported as stolen I guess Tesla can shut down the option for it to charge - every Tesla has an id built in which the Superchargers can read.
Though this of course won´t stop any other charger / plug from working.
Even criminals don't want GM products 😅 junk
How about cars with physical key? Toyota Rav4 LE , Corolla Cross L still comes with that!
I think a chipped physical key is more secure. I don't like this trend toward key fobs
All modern cars come with a little chip in the key that prevents the car from being started without it being detected. The reason Hyundais and Kia’s were able to be stolen with a USB is because they cheaped out and skipped the chip. My 2007 and 2012 Toyotas have physical keys, but there is a little chip hidden in the plastic portion of the key.
No thief wants to get KEYED up over stealing a car! 🤪🥸
Its too funny to buy a vehicle based on low theft rate and not what you really like! I got a RX 350 and its been a year I still own it.... fingers crossed lol
As a retired professional land and property line surveyor, I'm here to tell you it's pronounced TRA-verse, not truh-VERSE.
I wonder if Pinto or Gremlin will be on the least of least stolen cars
Vehicles with manual transmission…shows that thieves are the younger generation (don’t know how to drive manual) lol 😂
Unfortunately for Tesla, this "anti-theft" pro does not outweigh all the cons I have of renting one.
Elaborate, please. Your statement doesn´t make much sense as it is.
A Manual Gearbox. Never owned anything else.
Alfa Romeo😮
Based on the recent collapse of EV sales across North America, nobody wants to steal an EV since they have terrible resale value here and absolutely no resale value in developing countries where there is no charging available.
They'll be running from the law, literally
they would stay away from my vehicle,....an under powered Subaru impreza manual 😪
Thieves are afraid that a car with autopilot will drive itself to the police station
Most of the cars on your list are too expensive, I won’t buy them.
I’m kinda surprised at the slight difference in some models that thieves are less interested in.
I’ve had two cars stolen one was a corvair the other a Ford F-250 pickup truck.
There was a car theft ring that stole just pickup trucks and they partially stripped it Both batteries were taken and a tuner they didn’t get the wheels and tires 8 lug nuts on each wheel, I’m guessing they were interrupted.
Either way I got it back. The corvair never saw it again.
I don't buy cars based on resale value, theft rates, insurance rates, etc. I buy based on is the vehicle suitable for my needs, do I like the design, features and is it affordable? Nothing else.
If you'd be financially smart you would take in consideration the reliability and the TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) statistics. Because a car may be affordable, but if it is unreliable and costly to maintain, then you got a lemon. At least consider the resale value, that is a result of reliability, TCO etc.
Hipe to see the most stolen vehicles on your next content
nope, most of these cars are not good to own long term
I suppose a thief isn't thinking of keeping it that long. :)
Not too many Yugos or Ladas being stolen ?
Just get CarLock no warranty issues. Catch the thief in your car.
Another theft resistant strategy: Drive an old car!
I’m all about manual transmission so I’m pretty much safe 😂
All SUVs... 🥴
Have you driven an Encore? lol Even a thief doesn't want that slow ass car😆
Are these low numbers because the cars are difficult to steal or are the numbers low because the cars are so distasteful that they have zero value on the black market? It looks like this video should be called, "Cars that suck so bad, nobody will want to steal them!"
I wouldn't steal a GM product either if I stole.
I’ve heard that car thieves absolutely ADORE Chinese EV cars 😅
Tesla knows where all their cars are at all times
It's harder to steal Chevys when they're in the repair shop or junkyard...
Nobody wanna bother Volvo outside the americas 😂
How about Nissan Cube....fugly.....
Not as ugly as the Juke.
Even foreign buyers don't want one so ... there you go.
Cube was actually nice
@@oleglishchenko4922 ...so fugly that owners can leave it unlock all night with key in ignition and it will be there next day
Ev s no wants those either 😂😂😂😂 they don't work In heat or the cold ....and take for ever to charge ....
Of course if there are less of these cars on the road the fewer percentage of them get stolen.
Then how do you explain the Teslas? Especially the Y and 3? By your "logic" their numbers should be way higher.
There are Mercedes GLEs everywhere
Grand theft auto
The US should just ban export of used cars.
Interestingly all the least stolen cars are on my "cars not to buy" list ..
Taste is not something everyone has, so you are excused. Or you´re just broke af.
LOL. ...and they still have to deal with charging.
LOL.... and with other cars they still have to deal with refueling.
Please tell me you´re not supposed to be the smart one in your family.
@@robertmandl9326 If you find charging as easy as refueling you must be living on a different planet. Don't tell your parents what you smoke.
@@GoHighOctane500LC Lets see:
Plug in, go for lunch / dinner, plug out. Seems easy enough.
Also, one can charge at home, over night. So far I know noone outside of a farm that has their own fuel tank and pump at home.
So yes, technically charging IS easier and it IS safer (no flammable liquids) and it can be done almost anywhere, albeit at slow speeds if you only have a normal wall socket.
I think your tiny pea-for-a-brain confused "time consuming" with "ease of use".
@@robertmandl9326 When the argument is lost insult is what remains.
@@GoHighOctane500LC ... or chicken out by posting a lame reply because you know you got nothing.
I brought up valid points. Its not my fault you cant deal with them.
ARE THOSE CANADIANS STATISTICS OR US
It is stupid stealing electric vehicles . Nobody wants them .
"Best selling car world-wide 2023". Seems a lot of people not only want them but also bought them.
The Land Rover is so bad the thief brings it back and apologizes.....
Thieves are less likely to steal a EV since they're constantly online.
Did anything productive ever come out of that Federal government car theft summit?
The list of recommendations was impressive, but how long will they take to implement who knows.
yep buy a stickshift. few idiots can drive a stickshift
And that what Volvo s r rolling garbage
Excellent information but you go too fast
Even thieves don't want Tesla products! 🤣
Thieves don't steal pos s
What about Alfa’s?
I haven’t seen any Alfa Romeo on the road. So I assume auto thefts haven’t seen any either
@@manofsesame3024 it’s usually on the list of the least stolen brand, and really? I see them almost every day, but again I see a lot of different cars around
All the EVs are unlikely the target
Cars NOBODY WANTS THESE CARS EVEN BUYERS!! LOL.😊
Ah, another shithead. Go watch the part about the "best selling car world-wide 2023" in this video again.
I would love that GLE just sayin
Steal a "Rover" product? For the idiot market?
One advantage of owning an EV. I have a LEAF, and where I live most stolen vehicles head out to Mexico. Sorry, Mexico, my EV will not run on salsa, no matter how hot it is.
It can't be plugged in?
@@653j521 It´s more of a question WHERE you can plug it in. Doubt you´ll find a charging station in some backwater village in Mexico. Or any power outlet stable enough for that matter.
Up next, MOST stolen cars that thieves avoid.
