WoW! My wife and I walked through here just a few weeks ago, on my first return trip to Athens since 1964. My siblings and I grew up at Mavili St. n.10, and Gyzi St.n. 59 from 1956-1964 and attended school at the Ecole Ursuline in Neo Psychico. This was a bittersweet experience, it brought back so many memories, good and bad. The neighbourhoods are mostly embassies and consulates now, although I recall seeing the Russian Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin driving by our school bus stop next to the Russian Embassy at the time. However, the amount of graffiti and the unkempt condition of so many of those formerly stately homes is / was depressing. Unfortunately, Athens also seemed very rundown and trashy and outside of the wonderful food and the ruins and museums, was another disappointment. Nevertheless, thank you for this video posting. Ya sou....
