- In this video I show you how to replace the valve cover gasket along with VVT solenoid gaskets on the 2012-2018 Ford Focus. Gasket set was purchased from Amazon and I will provide a link below.

I did this job on a 2015 Ford Focus yesterday ( 6-6-24) i changed the valves cover. The lady i did the job for had already bought the valve cover and gasket set. When i looked at the cover it already had the gaskets installed, and the seals. She took it to a Ford dealership. They wanted $600 . They also said it would take 3 hours. It took me 3 hours, but I spent an hour (almost) to clean the battery terminals/posts. I think Ford was wanting to charge more hours. It looked a little more difficult than it was. A great job sir. Very helpful, and informative. 😊

Yeah it’s not the easiest as you saw on mine there were also somewhat seized due to rust and corrosion.
@@BLUECOLLARGARAGE For sure! I thank God though I don't have to do the job a second time. After a long drive I checked the whole perimeter of the valve cover and pulled the plug coils; all dry.
@@jasondillon2567i had this same issue, except the new seals i got were bad and completely tore the next day. unfortunately had to do it again haha
@@ethanplooster9986 Dang, that really sucks! After watching multiple videos I opted to add some motor oil to them before replacing the cover and it definitely helped it slide back on better. Glad you were able to get it fixed though!

Is the oil on the electrode itself or is it on the ceramic insulator where the coil clicks on?

Yes it will be almost the same process.
I've got an issue where my middle 2 sparkplugs have oil on them. Would this fix it potentially?
Yes most likely because the square gasket that is included in the kit helps keep oil out of the middle for cylinder 2 and 3 spark plugs.
The grommets for the Vvt are a pain. I really hate working on fords
Yeah especially when they are the originals and are all hard and dried out.
