The last comment is very true especially for getting out of a depressive rut. Lot of people think oh you just need to stay busy wrong that’s just setting yourself up to get burned out. The key is just setting up little goals every day to where you can get the stimuli of accomplished. Gradually make those goals bigger and more meaningful and before you know it the confidence is back. There’s no benefits in ignoring your stress or just covering it up because the moment you relax it will spill out uncontrollably. You want to conquer those emotions so they don’t rule your way of thinking. Negativity is a mental trap and it’s addictive to indulge it that’s why so many people in the west are depressed and have ultimately made their negativity apart of them. Do not find comfort in negativity.

Another interesting book related to "the winner effect" is Outliers. It essentially explains the circumstances of how ordinary people became extraordinary through thought process and environmental impacts. An example is hockey players. Most of the best hockey players are born within a certain date. This is because those born at the beginning of the cutoff date for their age are older and bigger than the other kids. Because of this they're better, they build confidence into their self identity, couches give them more play time and training, they get more confidence and it keeps spiraling. It spoke about a lot of circumstances like this and how your environment can really impact your outcomes.

If you want to become rich, you must not make a study of poverty.
Things are not brought into being by thinking about their opposites. Health is never to be attained by studying disease and thinking about disease; righteousness is not to be promoted by studying sin and thinking about sin; and no one ever got rich by studying poverty and thinking about poverty.
Medicine as a science of disease has increased disease; religion as a science of sin has promoted sin, and economics as a study of poverty will fill the world with wretchedness and want.
Do not talk about poverty; do not investigate it, or concern yourself with it. Never mind what its causes are; you have nothing to do with them
What concerns you is the cure.
Do not spend your time in charitable work, or charity movements; all charity only tends to perpetuate the wretchedness it aims to eradicate.
I do not say that you should be hard-hearted or unkind, and refuse to hear the cry of need; but you must not try to eradicate poverty in any of the conventional ways. Put poverty behind you, and put all that pertains to it behind you, and “make good.”
Get rich; that is the best way you can help the poor.

Also known as the science of success.
Don’t overlook it, and treat it as just a book.
It’s like treating the constitution of the United States as a Mark Twain story.

Scholars who study the stock market’s historical performance estimate that over time, the payment (and reinvestment, and compounding) of dividends have contributed anywhere from 30% to 90% of the S&P 500’s total returns. I want to spread across $400k into profit yielding dividend equities but unsure of which to get into.

The most influential book required the manifestation of belief in perpetual wins after experiencing one win. This is the metaphysical law of attraction. I just want to point out that the axiom that Graham related to wasn’t from a place of information/evidence, but belief/faith. Hope all is well

There’s no explanation for the path of any given life. Most people spend their lives trying and trying and trying with little to no success to show for the many efforts while others have massive life changing success on their very first try. Meatloaf was a perfect example of that.
