But the fact is that most of the newer buses using ZF Ecolife have the entire drive chain compartment so soundproofed that you can't hear a thing. An excellent example of this is the Mercedes Benz Connecto Next Gen or Connecto III, of which there are a few in my city. On the other hand, as you can hear in the video, the Ecolife sound quite good with a CNG or non-diesel engine due to the engine being quieter. Again, I can speak from experience, because in the MAN Lion's City 12G (Of which the bus provider for my city and the region (Volánbusz Zrt.) has around 10-20 in the intercity fleet.) and all of them are equipperd with ZF Ecolife gearboxes, and it is significantly louder than in the Mercedes Conecto ones, especially the retarder. I'm not a mechanic, a bus driver nor an expert in the world of gearboxes and engines, and i'm soley speaking from experience and from thing that i've read and heard.
