I absolutely loved this car when it came out. The CTS coupe was basically already the best looking car on the road in my opinion and then the V came out and 556HP took it to another level. Back in the 90s I had an el dorado and loved it and this to me was the modern take on that car. Powerful AND beautiful.
This is my favorite Cadillac(along with the CTS-V wagon variant) post 1970. Cadillac made a lot of mediocre cars between 1970 and now, but man this 2nd gen CTS is an absolute classic. Both in the knife edge Gotham styling and what was under the hood, no lame ass, unreliable Cadillac specific powerplant(aka HT4100, Northstar V8), no front wheel drive, no this thing is a proper hot rod, RWD with a great chassis, supercharged pushrod LS series V8 from the top spec Corvette. I actually like this car better than the 3rd gen CTS. That car has rather tamed down, "LAME" styling, less creases and comes only in a sedan body. Also the interior is nicer on this car, no stupid hard to use Cadillac "CUE" infotainment system.
Aaron Bays I HATE the 3rd gen CTS both inside and out. The V manages to correct a lot of the things I don’t like about it but still I agree the 2nd gen was nicer both inside and out.
one of my neighbors has one of these and every time I see it drive by the house I just stare and wish i had one and I'm not even a Cadillac fan, but this Caddy is F nice ! ! ! it's glossy black and with aftermarket wheels but resemble these I wish I could ask him for a ride. but I don't know him and I wouldn't just flag him down while going or coming home from work or something. maybe I'll see him in his driveway one day.
@Srbabiruso well yea depending on how much you drive will depend on how much gas to put. Currently I drive a 2010 Shelby gt500 I drive about 40 miles a day. I get about 18.5mpg cause its mostly highway driving. I fill my tank once in two weeks.
@rcnacura It makes no sense to make a fast car a hybrid. Take a look at the CR-Z its neither efficient or fast its just crap. If someone can afford a car that is over 50k they can surely afford the gas there is not point trying to ruin those types of cars by making them "hybrid" Also hybrids are bad for the environment in the long run.
@DevPack Not the stupidest - companies are realizing this and in the next few years, you will be seeing more hybrid sports cars. Infiniti just released the M35 Hybrid, Fisker, Tesla... so not really stupid at all to tell you the truth. People with money still want to go fast, they just don't want to get 10mpg as an expenses of going fast.
@DevPack Honda CRZ was never intended to be a sports car. Hybrids aren't the answer, but for now & the limited battery tech, it is the answer right at this moment. With more companies building these sports cars with gas mileage in mind (porsche, mercedes to keep the list going) - in the next coming 4 years you will see this shift in car manufacturers finally listening to the end user. Someone that buys a 100K Mercedes S500 doesn't care about gas mileage. Someone buying a 50K Tesla Model S does.
rcnacura frist of all how u put a junk front wheel drive Honda crv in this category?now what Tesla u say is 50k u are way off. Since Tesla Ben out with that one model it's ben a 100,000 dud they just came out with one cheper model that little SUV.and that Roadster sport car is a 150,000 dud u need to go do yo home work for u talk about cars
Back in the days, all the amateur CZcams bloggers and corrupted mainstream auto media thought this Caddy would steal customers from BMW M cars .....oh boy were they NOT wrong enough.... the Caddy is dead as a clam on the beach while BMW rev on to the bank.....
@carguy379 what's with the attitude buddy? Is this not a forum where people can post their comments? I have subscriptions to many of the Auto channels. Just because I can't afford the vehicle doesn't make me a non car guy. Chill out.
wish they would make a "eco" version... people that pay a premium still want to "save the earth" as well. Have Eco, Norm and Sport (best to worst gas mileage). Or maybe I'm all alone...
8+ years later this car is still badass with gobs of HP and torque.
And gets its ass kicked now by a 4 door alfa romeo giulia quadrifoglio
@@tsnaha and the Alfa romeo gets its ass kicked by a fucking ct4 v blackwing
THE O.G. car review show. Thank you John Davis!!
Yea John is the man

I’ll second that. You’ve got to see this car in person to appreciate its beauty, like the wrx sti.
All American!!! Nothing better!
Awesome machine!😁👍
its about time you guys made some vids....i didn't know what was going on....
Great work Sir thank you
i love mine
Nice car
@blueorangelettuce i am not talking about the price tag but the fuel economy. a car like this isnt about how many miles per gallon you can get
All American Bad Ass; This is the American supercoupe for those too tall for a Corvette ZR-1.
And the only American supercoupe with a backseat. Too bad most people can't sit comfortably back there.
Aspirational vehicle. The last truly great Cadillac
Nice...
Sigma chassis was so good

DevPack thanks I thought this car would sit in the driveway and consume gasoline while off
@@liberalweirdo7886 😄
@blueorangelettuce if you are complaining about a car like this not being economical it kind of does.
Badass for a old ppl brand
Think they have enough motor in that little car?
was he reading off a script when he was in the car?
@blueorangelettuce That's why if you can afford it, you won't be worrying about fuel economy :P

I hated the rear of those coupes
weird windows looks feminine actually
My LS3 Corvette is just as fast , but, my Corvette only weighs about 3250 pounds.
Sedans are much better looking
Donalddump sedans have 2 doors too many
Sedan looks like a moms car to me lol
Excellent car but I would still probably take the M3 over it.

70k for 14mpg and with premium gas no less? It's a sweet car, but hardly one that carries consumers into a economically sustainable future.
It's a V8 sports coupe. Did you arrive at this video by mistake?
Its a V8 lol why would it get good gas mileage?
Buy a Prius lol.
In what world would the consumers care about their 560hp supercharged V8 behemoth being able to carry them to an "economically sustainable future"?
Really?😂😂😂😂😂😂 You buy a V8 and worry about fuel economy?😂😂😂😂😂
