Love your videos. I have 2 69’s that you’ve given me so many good ideas for. I’m excited to get them finished. I’ll guess 79.25 hours total
Thanks Jerold! Glad to hear I've given some inspiration! See ya!
I do this every now and then. Average for both sides is 40 + hours. Thanks Monty. I don't need a had, I have my own.
Thanks Brother! We shall see!
I will say 74 hours 15 minutes. I did Detroit Speed minitubs on my 72 Camaro RS. Now I'm running 335's on it. (edited time)
Ha! Love the accuracy of your guess... I can't wait to join the 335 club. Thanks for the comment!
Subscribed! I have the exact kit for my 70 GTO. Happy I found you before starting. Luckily my whole body is off the frame currently.
Nice! Welcome to the family. Body off is certainly easier. Let's gooo!
Love your channel, brother. I guess 32.5 have a blessed day!
Thanks Nicholas! Got your vote... we shall see! And, you too...
Brother, your Goat is going to be so bada$$ when you are "done". I'm guessing 38.5 hours total but I couldn't wait so I went ahead an ordered a hat.
It's going to be tough waiting for the next video. Take care Mike.
Ha! Thanks Brother! We'll see how long it takes...
I’ll guess 37.6 hours to mini-tub your GTO.
Great video Mike, keep up the great work! I’m still amazed at how our car projects are on a parallel course. I’ve been putting off installing mini-tubs in my Chevelle because I didn’t know how to safely remove the inner wheel wells. All the other utube videos I’ve watched always seem to glaze over that part??? I’m not a bodywork person and don’t personally know any.
Please finish this latest project - I’m getting ready to start mine.
Ha! Thanks Chuck, yeah, I'm gonna finish it for ya. Ha, ha... Let's go!
34 hours both sides!
Thanks Jack!
I love the clock. Very cool concept.
Thanks! It's gonna get a lot of use, ha, ha... thanks again!
Great to see your video today
Thanks John!
The clock is a great idea. It would be helpful to have an idea of how long it takes to complete a job. People often ask me how much time I've spent on a project, and I have no idea. I do know that tracking my time, especially the first attempt, would be a crazy high number compared to a professional.
Thanks Mark! Yeah, it always takes longer the first time. Luckily for us, this isn't my first time. :) But, still a good hourly budget tool for everyone else, on all projects moving forward. Thanks again!
Hey Monty, cool project, thanks for taking the time to video it step by step.
Question: I noticed you still have seam sealer after you broke the spot welds. But I remember that your car was acid dipped when u started. I always heard the downside of acid-dipping was that it dissolved the seam sealer. So what’s the backstory with your seam sealer?
Thanks Scott... good memory. Yeah, it was acid dipped. Apparently it doesn't remove ALL of the old sealer. And, I added sealer post dip, so I have both going on... ha, ha... thanks!
I'd love to do this to my 65 chevelle ss. I'm guessing 128.4 hrs. Good luck!
Awesome! thanks Tom!
Good video, good channel. You've got a Mr Rogers or Bob Ross vibe coming across.
I need that clock! Could you post a link or let me know where to get one please. Thanks in advance.
Thanks Jim! (I think?) ha, ha... yeah, here's that timer; www.amazon.com/dp/B01EFMDN20?linkCode=ssc&tag=onamzmikemont-20&creativeASIN=B01EFMDN20&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.33YBKPTEDQRP4&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_d_asin&th=1
It will be Bad Ass when you get it done.
Thanks Gene! It'll never be "done" lol
Do you have a fuel tank with notched corners for tire and Exhaust clearance?
yup, check it out... czcams.com/video/XvVMBhCEKew/video.html
Just found your channel, new subscriber. My guess is 22 hours 38 minutes and 7.25 seconds per side
Welcome to the family! Love the super accurate guess. We shall see!
Looking good not sure about time. Are you putting the rails in also. Heads up on the sacrificial parts. You can use the belt sander to grind the wields out. Learning curve to get there but much quicker and less metal compromised on good panels
Yup, frame rails too. Thanks Robert!
I’ll guess 104 hours start to finish, both sides
Any thoughts on a new project car after this last mod. Start to finish?
Thanks Robert! several projects still to go. :)
Wild guess! 27 hours per side,
Thanks Brian! We'll see!
You gonna have this thing back on the road this summer?
I better! I'm driving to Hot August Nights in Reno, this year. Let's gooooo!
What was the length of your rearend? Original
I have no idea. Ha ha. Why?
@@FastMonty I already mini tubed mine. Curious if I should narrow from original when I buy my 9 inch...going in Mt 65 chevelle. Thanks
@@Lsguy74 Ahhh, got it. The only benefit is it moves your wheel center line closer to center. I'm also curious to see how it looks, when I get my new wheels... So, you'd have to buy new wheels, is the other down side. Hope that helps!
Awsome video as always. With all this work would you consider another try at the dragstrip? And as far as this particular project Id say about 40 hours total.
Thanks! Drag racing? If, AND only if, it's a clean track. That last drag video I did tore up my quarter panels. Anyway, got your vote! Thanks!
115.1 hours total
Got it. Thanks!
Ill throw a guess in 120 HRS
Thanks Lonny!
Great job Mike
I would guess about 55 hrs per side
Thanks Joe, got your vote... you can edit it up until the contest is closed. We shall see!
I was doing some random repairs on my wife's minivan. I was out in the driveway for about half a day when my wife came out of the house with my life insurance policy in her hand. Haha! Not this time!
@@brianhaw9398 Ha! Always an excuse to get out... ha, ha... thanks!
Mike
I want to edit my guess to 40 hrs per side 80 hrs total …
Will the frame on a 69 gto fit a 69 Chevelle?
I'm pretty sure they're the same. But, I'm not an expert. Might check a wrecking yard that has a hole bunch of 69 GM A-Body frames to see. Good luck!
23 hrs per side
Thanks Andrew!
Hey I don’t need hats or shirts, but I’m still passing by just on a slim chance I may pick up something I don’t know or haven’t done. Cheers
Thanks for joining the adventure!
55 hours total
Thanks Brother!
Dude, this project is coming together niiiice. How long did it take.... does it really matter to someone who takes the time to mask off the whole car, AND build a mask cave inside the car ((lol that cracked me up)) Your GOAT is going to be BadAss tubbed with the meats, and the Curry. What's left? I think you just may have reached the pinnacle! Good job Mike.
My estimated time guess? 48 hrs. ea. side.
@@Rick-O-Shay60 Roger that. Thanks Rickey!
Ha! Thanks! Lot's still to go after this project.
EDIT: Now, since watching ep.5 into this project, I can understand the time, and labor to complete such a job is much more than I originally estimated. (their is a Lot going on) So, in addition to the orig. 48 hrs. per side, add another 24 hrs per for a total of ((144 hrs. or 6 full days)) I'll say this, Looks like a project that could easily go astray, although with common sense, and thinking things through the project is coming together quite nicely for you. Good job Mike, I'm impressed.
@@Rick-O-Shay60 Edit received... thanks Rickey!
I would guess about 58.00 hours
Thanks Patrick! We shall see!
Ouch, I couldn’t do that to my 70 Z/28. 235-60-15 all around is all I need.😢
Ha! Like a professional drifter!
114 .4 hours total
Thanks Tim! Is that total, or per side?
Total and no coffee breaks added Mike 😂
@@timwoods1611 Ha! Fair!
37 hours
Thanks! We shall see! (I've decided to start leaving Easter Eggs in videos to gauge how long each mini step takes) Let's gooo!
Total time 52 hours
Thanks! We shall see!
I’m going to guess 82 hours. If it was me doing it the measuring unit would be in years. 😂
Thanks for making me laugh... "years" are probably for most "project car" guys. Thanks for the comment!
Both sides - 95 hours all up
Thanks for the hat bid! We shall see!
Yo! You won the Hat contest! Please email me which color hat you'd like, and your shipping address. fastmontysgarage@gmail.com
@FastMonty awesome!!!! As a GM A body owner (65 chevelle) I approve 100%! 😊
@@MrJahoot Thanks Brother! Send me that email, so I can get you your hat. Congrats!
62 hours total for both sides.
Thanks for the guess! We shall see.
34
Thanks Craig!
I'm changing to 64 hours
Thanks Zack! We shall see!
28 hours
Thanks Michael! We shall see!
46 hrs
Thanks Kevin!
35hr
Thanks Mike!
46hr new guess
@@mikemcnamara2943 Got it. Thanks Mike!
Ok, if I’m not too late 96hr.
My new guess
@@mikemcnamara2943 Not too late... Got it Mike! Thanks!
With the rear end out and without commentary, 18.5 hours per side. Average.
What commentary? baahahahaa... thanks for guess, we shall see!
28 hours
Got it. Thanks Doug!
@@FastMonty I have a 65 LeMans that I would like to put bigger slicks on the rear so I watching this with great interest. I currently am running 10.5X 28 MT slicks and would like to upgrade to 12X28's. I would say after the rear end is out 53 hours.
But for me it would take 100+ hours even watching this video as a guide
@@NCMan Awesome! After the series is done, please circle back with Tony at ABC to determine which points are different for 65's. Thanks for the guess, we shall see!
@@NCMan Ha! Trust me, I spent way more time on the passenger side. Haulin ass on the driver's side. Doesn't matter how long it takes, you'll get there. See ya!
