It's helpful in 1,20
Instead of doing the whole minecart system you can simply use mud instead of dirt with a hopper underneath, since mud isn't a full block the hopper picks up the item, costs more iron but a lot nicer on the ears not having to hear the cart
Then you will have to use a lot more iron tho
@@LavrentiEmirashviliiron farms lol
@@LavrentiEmirashvili with a simple golem farm you will have lots of iron, got to use it some way
@@LavrentiEmirashvili also much less gold
Why did no one tell me this. I had to go adventure looking for gold instead
Very nice! appreciate the "Required Items" for people who build in survival and need to prepare.
I got a cobble stone generator for observers and pistons, a beach nearby for sand, a lot of bamboo from bonemealing the ones I got from the small jungle and a nether portal with nearby nether wastes biome so I can make one but I want to get better armour first before I go into the nether bc I only got diamond leggings and helmet
@@jenniferlumiqued Just go to the nether it's not that dangerous
literally every tutorial gives that
@@Nolife22nope, they literally dont😂
@@Nelson4207 welp everyone I've seen does it
Small tip.
You can use 1/4 of the observers just by placing redstone connecting the pistons, even less if u can manage repeaters.
Yes, one problem then is, that the bamboo grows really independently. What I mean by this is, that one bamboo can have a size of ten while another one isn't even three blocks high. And if a fast growing bamboo doesn't trigger an observer, it will touch the roof of the farm - and therefore, it won't grow further which leads to a loss of potential resources. The more observers you use, the less is this a problem. My advice would be, that the roof is higher (10-15 blocks) So all the bamboo can grow freely).
Thanks, very simple, yet expandable design. You can easily tinker with rate and piston firing frequency by decreasing/increasing number of observers and the height of the farm. And you can do it as long as you want
awesome guide, and very efficient for its size! thank you
This is great! Thank you, it works perfectly.
I did this and it worked like a charm! Thank you!
This farm is really useful! I needed a 100 scaffolding for a mob farm and this literally saved my life :D
Literally same here😅
Great video! Thanks
thanks bro
pretty simple and quick and affective
love this design thank you
amazing video. it was easy to build thanks
Tip: you can use less powered rails to save materials and change them to normal rails.
amazing tutorial very clear ty
awesome thank you!
Bro I looked at your channel and I saw all the farms you make and that’s a sub you are so underrated
The best thing about this farm in my opinion is that you can make it longer to suit your needs.
Ok bro this is top tier channel if i need help with redstone from now on,
not only he made it step by step, but even explained WHY things need to be the way they are for example with slabs and mobs not spawning there with them, not only i got nice automated farm but i learned new thing, have a sub and like, i will check out some new farms from your channel and make milions in my world muahahaha
Very helpful! I'm looking to make a lot of scaffolding, and this will save me a ton of work! Thanks!
Glad to hear you found this helpful! Thanks for the comment :)
I'm also playing on a modded server, and one of the players has the Red Panda origin so he can only eat bamboo. Again, very hepful design!
dude im a builder terrible at redstone and wow this is impressive! thank u so much!
This is a very clever design. For underground farming, it works flawlessly.
takes less than 30 minutes to build if you have the appropriate materials. very efficient tutorial, ive followed several of your designs in the past!
thanks! glad to hear that 😄
Actually works using sugarcane as well, just need to fit blocks around the bottom to hold water sources. Not sure efficient of course due to the slow growth rate of sugarcane, but the design still works overall
@@Kmond can you make a version that can fit in a chunk? im limited on the server im in to one chunk
Just reduce the length, it’ll still work albeit be slower
Ty great explanation 😊
Works perfectly easy to build tysm
Works for 1.19.4, thank you so much!
this is gonna be the go to farm for 1.20 😎
haha true, kinda crazy that in 1.20 you can farm planks with a bamboo farm
Gonna build this in my survival world. Btw hi from Viro🇪🇪!
Great farm, works like it should
Super helpful, thanks. My redstone skills are limited
Simply and efficiency, i Love
Thank u bro this is really great, easy and effective farm. Thanks
love the music
Pretty easy to turn this into a sugarcane farm. Just put some waterlogged stairs face into the dirt block layer.
You mispelled 1.20 wood farm 😂
Stellar tutorial as always dude 😁
Can't wait to make loads of bamboo farms to save the forests in 1.20
Thanks man! 😄
w vid. keep it up brother.
It's cool to know that wood is renewable in 1.20. 🤣
The bamboo blocks look great but is an inconsistency with the bamboo plant. I hope they will fix it.
Thanks so much for the tutorial Kmond!
haha yes the bamboo blocks look like noodles 😂 Thanks for the comment George!
I can agree with that.
My hopper isnt taking items from the cart. Do you know why?
SAME@@trailblazer9754
thank you so much! I tried to do it by myself but i suck with redstone lmfao
haha no problem, glad I could help
since you can plant bamboo on mud, could you also replace hopper minecart system with hoppers? (mud is less than a full block so if it lands on the mud then hopper can collect it.)
only downside id see is would cost more iron and maybe bamboo might get stuck in farm but idk tho
you can simply use 1 observer (as they are not cheap to build)
and kick all the pistons when it gets triggered and the farm wouldn't lose so much efficiency
also. if you dont have a good gold farm, building all that powered rails is going to be hard
just use hoppers instead it's easier to craft them if you have iron farm (which is the first farm you should aim for)
Dont work with hoppers for me idk why..
for me it does, of coures it does
@@banning7951
danke für dfe bambums farm
Hi, great design and works regards to the observer and piston underground and the cart running underneath. But my cart is not collecting the cropped bamboo through the dirt
I've replaced several dirt with hoppers to the rail, now works perfectly
Seems to be good but for some reason. I can't get the minecart to stop completely. The momentum keeps it from staying on top of the hopper. Thus, it stops dropping items and gets powered back on again.
I placed a honey block to stop the minecart and it fixes this problem.
@@HobbyHarvestwow thank you!! it works
Please include rates with your farm tutorials. Thanks
thank u i paly on the donut server and this will help me to get very rich
When the minecart gets to the end of the track, it's just stopping rather than bouncing back. Any ideas on how to fix that? I'm playing on a server so that might be the issue.
Edit: Ok so I figured out that issue but for some reason now I have a different issue. Basically before my redstone torches were 1 block off so the final block that was supposed to be powered wasn't. Now it's bouncing back just fine. However for some reason that being lit up seems to make it so that the one next to it above the hopper that its not connected to will forever stay lit up, so the minecart never stops now. Well, there were two times the repeater turned off, but the minecart bounced back too fast to stop and it just turned on again a couple seconds later, but that's only happened twice on seemingly random occasions. I have no idea what's going on with this.
hey, idk if you'll see this or if anyone could help. i was under the impression the minecart would just stop till its fully unloaded? i followed it piece for piece and didn't mess with repeater settings or anything and it just stops for it to unload like 2 or 3 bamboo then continues endlessly. am i doing something wrong?
Keep going
The powered rails on the chest's end point toward each other no matter what direction I place them.
Ah. Placed an extra temp block for extra track. Because it extended, the two tracks stayed split and I just broke the temp block after getting it laid.
Used the same workaround! I think it depends if you built the farm N/S or E/W
@@44tannertannerhow would i do this?
@@thcsythe3354 placing an extra rail down to attach to then breaking the extra later is the easier than planning your farm directionally, but there's a 50% chance you won't hit this issue depending on orientation. From the wiki:
"powered rail lines up in the north-south direction (but if a rail is later placed to the east or west, the powered rail re-orients itself in the east-west direction even if it is already connected to another rail to the north or south"
@@44tannertanner thank you
Bro this works so smoothly even in pocket
If i want farm bigger i can just add more observers and pistons after and rails i dont need to add anything else right?
It is very good 😍😍😍
Is it really neccessairy for all the rails to be powered rails? Seems like if thw minecart went slightly slower it wouldnt really matter aslong the items dont get to despawn.
Build the whole thing, but every time the bamboo gets harvested, it lays on top of the bottom bamboo, which prevents it from getting picked up by the minecart
Same
I built this farm, exactly as directed. My experience, is that 2/3 of the bamboo falls through like it's supposed to, and get's collected. About a third, gets stuck, as you've described. @Kmond
You could build a Door so you can pick it up.
Could you water log the bamboo to push the pieces to the bottom?
Just started playing and can't get stone for the comparator. If I just connect the first powered rail with the observers to send the Minecart whenever something is pushed, would that work?
Why not let the bamboo grow higher in some spots?
Hello,
I know this video is a bit older but I’m new to Redstone and I was wondering how the comparator stops the minecart. I’d like to understand so I could add it to some other builds. Is it because it recognizes that the chest has items in it causing it to emit a Redstone signal to stop the minecart?? If anyone could answer this I’d be thankful.
Yes, comparators draw power out of a block depending on the state of the block. So when items go into the hopper (not the chest as you stated) the comparator pulls power from the hopper therefore flipping the switch and turning the powered rail off. It’s good for collection systems that are easily overflowed, or when a lot of different items are running through the same collection system.
How large will this design scale? We have a big kelp op coming up lol
i cant believe i blue screened during this tutorial
with this i was able to make a automatic suger cane farm too
although the suger cane is extremly slow but you can make it with the scraps of the bamboo farm
My jaw legit dropped when I noticed the amount of hopper minecarts and iron is a big struggle in the server Im on...
Have you tried to make iron farm?
Can this be extended past 17 blocks long and still work the same way, as long as you add additional redstone torches to power the rails? I'd love to scale this up a bit more if possible.
yes you can scale it up as much as you need
@@fw_saint can I make it higher for more bamboo?
I mean by placing the observer higher
@@gemmameidia8438 that wont effect much, because it will still grow at the same rate. all you would change is that it will take much more space in your world
@@gemmameidia8438 placing the observer higher wouldn’t really affect the rate because bamboo grows really fast anyway.
Why won’t the rails place straight by the hopper
It worked
the observers don't recognize the bamboo for some reason. Does anyone know how to fix that?
hi proooo nice :>>>>>
😎
everything works besides the minecart for me. the hopper minecarft wont move and slows down when i get it to and just stops, also doesnt collect any bamboo
Love your accent
How can I add more layer in this machine ?
The redstone doesnt work in 1.19.2, the minecart doesnt stop and the hopper just doesnt work
No u just built it wrong
@@masonkolb3908 Facts
I noticed that too
Nvm i am stoopid
I think the block above the one the Repeater is pointing into needs to be air.
the minecraft wont stop at the end for me, i built it in java and the only difference i made was that i didint use all powered rails. how do i fix this?
i have a problem, the pistons wont retract
I cant get the end of the track to stay straight, keeps making the hopper track n the end track turn n connect
This farm is great! 👍👍
But can this farm be extended?
Yes
does the dirt have to be grass?
The minecart rails don’t wanna connect correctly
Incredible Farm 100% recommend. Efficient, cheap and very easy to build.
Your able to use one observer make sure it's in the middle tough
1:02 my powered rails (the one on the hopper and then the one placed next to it) kept connecting and now it doesn’t work
I'm having the same issue 😢
Why can't I get my tracks to stay un connected 🙃 my first powered rail keeps connecting to the last one I place
My minecart won't move after it goes to the other side. It just stays there and doesn't move or collect anything when the pistons cut the bamboo
Do you play on bedrock or java?
@@gemmameidia8438 java
i have a problem the rails at the beginning and end connect what do i do?
1.20 experience:
the minecart doesn't stop, but it still drops the items in the chest, so it works even better being way faster
Amazing tutorial. I built the whole thing exactly, but my minecart doesn't stop on the hopper. Any idea why this is happening?
No Idea why, but got the same Problem, build a solution tho.
Extend the stopping hopper by 1 (So 2 Hoppers instead of 1) and 2 Stopping railways (instead of 1)
On the last Stopping Hopper
(So the Hopper he told in the video) you build another hoper conected above it. Now you got a steep Angle where it Stops and starts again.
You also gotta adjust the Redstone for the Stopping mechanism 1 block upwards✌🏻
You will loose the End 3 Bamboo Spots(because you are now 1 block Higher at the End), but you can build this Farm as Big as you want, so no actual loss.
this solution worked for me! i didnt need 2 hoppers but i extended with the 2 railways and it worked
The 2 rails behind the chest keep connecting and face the chest for me
When I place the rails near the hopper they connect? Why does this happen and how do I fix it?
Why does my minecart just randomly stop? @Kmond pls help
so i did exactly what you did but my minecart isn't stopping any tips
Can i make the farm bigger than 17 blocks wide
can u pls tell where to put lever to turn off the farm
You CAN'T turn it of as long as the bamboo grows and the observers are there they will detect the bamboo and activate the piston. (But if you really want it off you can just destroy the bamboo onside of the farm.)
Edit: Commented on the wrong video, this farm worked great
Original comment:
I built this farm but it doesn't seem to generate any excess kelp blocks, just brake even. Maybe my farm is just too small but IDK. Think it should have some system that only lets fuel through when X amount of kelp is in the furnace
Edit: Actually not even self replenishing for a small farm now that I've checked
kelp?
@@leumas7 Ops, had two tabs open and seem to have commented on the wrong video. Built this one right after, this farm worked great
Built like said but minecart doesn't stop
Is it working for sugar cane
Does this work for bed rock
Hey mate I'm playing on Bedrock edition, unsure if that changes much, but I've set it up exactly as you have, and the comparator part doesn't serve its function. Even if the hopper cart still has items left, it just leaves immediately. Any idea what I could be doing wrong?
I’m having the same problem even with the system off the hopper minecart doesn’t deposit to the chest
@@madpro_98x83 same
As far as i know both the versions work very differently and have very differnt mechanics so i think this farm wont work on bedrock as its meant for java so try any other thats meant for bedrock and always when you search redstone builds and glitches always specify java or bedrock while searching because tbey work differently
Cant u turn bamboo into sticks for fletcher?
Yup make bamboo block then bamboo planks and finally use those planks to make sticks
Are you able to do this with waterlogged stairs and sugarcane?
As far as I'm aware, probably. Just asking as the water doesn't go everywhere which is prevented by the stairs
yes it does work
it doesnt work for me
i have a problem. When everything is working my minecart isnt riding what do i do ?
Will this work with cacti?
rip nevermind
