do they have virgin drinks etc.. and at the party do everybody wear white
This place was great! I was just there 2 weeks ago. I would say the food is not the greatest but the jerk chicken was so good!!
Everyone raves about the Jerk chicken! 😁
Gracias por tu comentario positivo, Franco 😀 ¡qué disfrutes!
Merci beaucoup pour cette belle vidéo.
De rien! 😀
Fun video with lots of information, but just as a critique you should narrow down your b roll footage to shorten the video. Having multiple clips of the same thing makes the video feel slow and long
We hear you! We’ve started doing just that on our latest videos 😇
Hows AC, temperature control in rooms, some reviews said its too hot or too cold with AC not working properly. Whats your opinion?
nice video thanks for sharing
Glad you liked it 🙂
Are the specialty restaurants like the indian food place and asian food place included or do you pay for the food? Also do they make fruity cocktails for you to drink?
What are free amenities in spa?? Is it hot tub and cold tub?
Is there a good excursion desk to book excursions like to soana island etc if one stays in riu republica?
Thanks for the video. Is the disco opened everyday?
Yes it is, Marianne 🙂
Besides this, what is another party resort that is good?
I am travelling here solo in June. I want to ride the water slides but my concern is. Is there a place where to put your stuff while you ride for example my hotel card?? Since I will be solo there is no one that can hold it for me.
There's not really a place where you can store your belongings (e.g. a locker). We leave our belongings in a chaise lounge just outside the waterpark (within line of sight) and we haven't had any issues doing this. As long as you don't leave anything of value unattended for too long you should be ok. I understand your concern about your room key and maybe a great way to give you peace of mind would be to buy a small beach safe box on amazon like this one: amzn.to/3SjbCxL that you can secure to your chaise lounge.
I stuffed my room key in my bra or bathing suit top. But honestly it would probably be fine. My room key deactivated almost everyday. I always had to make a trip to the front to reactivate it. There is no number on your room key either so if some stole it they wouldn’t know what room it went to.
Someone told me that hotel keys get deactivated if placed near cellphones. Never have it happen to me but makes sense.
@@NittyGrittyTravelers yes, agree the cellphone deactivates it, so we tried to keep it away as much as possible. It happened to us quite a bit. For some reason it would take turns deactivating me and my roommates card.
I'm going there solo on June 21. I can't wait!
Hi!! just wondering if you guys have smoke area??? i will be there soon but worrie about it
Hello Juliette! Thank you for your question; Beforehand, please note that we are not affiliated in any way with the Riu Republica; This is an independent tour and review. We don't remember seeing a dedicated smoking area. However, you can smoke in open areas such as the beach, the pools, and hotel grounds unless otherwise specified.
Please be advised that the only enclosed area where it is allowed to smoke inside is the casino. I hope this helps! =)
I’m going in August.
Have fun!
Did you like it?
In the Al a cart restaurants; I heard no reservations are required and it is first come first served, but could reservations be made if that’s what we wanted to do?
Indeed no reservations are needed, Kim. 🙂 There's no way to make reservations either.
What do u mean the hotel is not very big? It has 1400 rooms lol nice detailed video btw. Thanks
Thanks for watching! I know what you mean about the size of the Riu Republica; we mean it's not very big when compared to other resorts in Punta Cana that are absolute behemoths! 🙂
@@NittyGrittyTravelers like which ones? I like huge hotels
Lopesan Costa Bavaro, Hard Rock Hotel, the Palladium complex are humongous
I had the same thought. This resort looks massive to me! 😅
What in your opinion is the best time to go? I love people, the sun, and fun!!
Hi, Will :) that is a complex question that deserves a complex answer but in a quick way here's what I think. Summer has nice temperatures, and lower prices but it's hurricane season and high seaweed. Winter months are more expensive, it's cooler in Punta Cana (cool for us at least 😋) but seaweed is minimal. Sun, fun, and people are year-round in Punta Cana! Spring break will bring a young crowd to the DR.
@@NittyGrittyTravelersIs it a lot more mellow in the winter! We’re coming in February and aren’t very into the high energy parties for 20 year olds. Will there be places to swim and hang out away from loud parties in February?
Hi Is there any city center close to the Resort so I can explore city, shooping center bars restaurant's outside Resort? and is the resort have travel agency for booking day trips? thanks
The immediate area surrounding the hotel is not walking-friendly, and there's nothing much to see. Still, it's close to Downtown Punta Cana by car, also El Cortecito and Los Corales neighborhoods. You can book tours and day trips at the resort, BUT we highly recommend booking them online before your arrival for cheaper prices. We have that option on our website: nittygrittytravelers.com/puntacana/ 🙂
Is the nightclub actually decent, trying to go to a resort with a good night life
It's a small disco, good music, a bar inside and a good flow of people. The club itself is nothing special, but the party vibe is there.
@@NittyGrittyTravelers the riu pool partyes are worth it
What do u recommend my man
grand oasis cancun OR riu republica punta cana
We haven’t been to the Grand Oasis Cancún or to Cancun in general so wouldn’t be able to compare them. Sorry I can’t be of more help!
-Ari
Easily Riu Republica, if you are looking for the party vibe. Both are very party but the crowd of that the Riu attracts are always way more lively and outgoing it’s crazy.
Thanks for helping out! 😀
Damn no heavy bag for boxing brah??🇨🇦🇨🇦🇩🇰🇩🇰🥊🥊
No boxing bag no. The gym is pretty basic to be honest
@@NittyGrittyTravelers ohh i see, thanks brah🇨🇦🇨🇦🇩🇰🇩🇰🤙🏼🤙🏼
what were the things you had to pay for while being there?
Everything you saw on this video is included in the price, except the pool tables in the sports bar which we learned after the fact the you have to pay extra to use. 🙂
hi how was the food at the restaurants? ANy dress code for men? Do you need reservations to eat at the restaurants? Thank you.
We go into detail about the food in our review video: czcams.com/video/b34qkT5dJ8M/video.html but I can say that the food at the restaurants we tried was good (Asian and Italian). We tried the Indian on a previous trip and it was bland... No strict dress code in this resort but to play it safe bring closed-toe shoes and long pants (jeans work). You do not need a reservation for most restaurants (the Spanish, Indian and the steak house fill out fast)
-Ari-
Be there in 10 days 😎
Enjoy! 😀 it’s beautiful this time of year
You have to pay for the pool tables. They are super expensive and the sticks are terrible!
Thanks for the info! We weren’t aware of that
-Ari
Trick for the hotels that do this. You ask for empty plastic cups and place them in the holes. Unlimited games after that 😉
@@apex4766 Brilliant idea. Thanks!
@@nickyoung6978 learned this from a group of kids on a trip lol 😆
Wow that resort looks so over crowed
Honestly it didn't feel too crowded in person, especially in important areas like the buffets
It looks empty to me, unless you’re being sarcastic. This is a party hotel and all the videos I see online show hundreds of 20 something’s packed into the pools for crazy parties.
Do not say “ if you fancy?”. People only say “ if you fancy?”, if you are from the UK or a UK territory. In North America, we say “ if you like?”. You sound so odd when you say “ if you fancy?”.
Thanks 🙂
I guess he didn't fancy lol
Is it all boomers and old ppl that go lol when I go in july hopefully there’ll be younger ppl
LOTS of young people at this resort!
I have the opposite concern. I’m going with a group of boomers and I don’t think they realized they booked a crazy party resort. 😂 Look at the other videos online. It’s mostly super wild parties there packed with young people.
@@MK-Hogan depends what young is to you I ended up going and it was mostly late 20s early 30s which is old to me. Basically any ppl with beer bellies means they’re old lol
Adults only? Is this an x rated hotel?
Nothing like that; some hotels are adults only and they don’t cater to children at all. All the activities are thought out for adults, the music, amenities, etc. 🙂
I only go to Adults only resorts. Kids running around is such a buzzkill
Dsd is asking the right questions lol
