    I'm pleased Parham won this game. He's a heck of a nice guy and an excellent player.

    His smile was not an insult action , He smiled because he was suprised that Nepo couldn't analyze this simple tactic , He just couldn't believe that !

    I think Parham thought Nepo would resign after that fork for the bishop so he laughed like he always does, but Nepo continued playing on

      Parham is one of the most passionate chess players I've ever seen. So him laughing is just one of the ways he expresses the enjoyment of the match he had.

      Nepo aimed to checkmate Parham with the bishop on g1 and the rook on h2. However, in any case, Parham's position was better. That's the reason for his mistake

    Hard work no substitute for talent alone. Nepo thinks he should be at or near the top of each tournament he plays in and shakes his head when he’s not as though he’s had very bad luck.

      Black rook was also attacked by white knight...Rooks off the table its impossible for black to hold

    • @unlock01
      @unlock01 Před 7 měsíci

      The black pawn would then be unstoppable if both rooks were gone, the knight would fail to stop it. In that case Nepo would have won instead of losing and of course Parham saw that and did not trade rooks.
      Not just that when Parham checked him with the knight on Nf3, the knight covered the 3rd rank so that he could capture the A pawn on the next move without the black rook defending it. The black rook was eyeing to capture the g3 pawn and also looking to defend his own pawn by the 3rd rank. Parham prevented that by checking with the knight, gaining a tempo and also blocking the rook.
      That was the purpose of the check not a fork and to grab the rook.

    • @chessonline4848
      @chessonline4848 Před 7 měsíci

      @@unlock01 are you mad I mean how nepo win if rooks were traded it was easy win for parham. If rooks were traded or not being 1800 I can also able to beat nepo on that position and I prefer to trading of rook because of symmetrical pawn structure on both side my knight easily take all black pawn.

    • @unlock01
      @unlock01 Před 7 měsíci

      @@chessonline4848 bro I am talking of the instance just before nepo resigned at 8:00 why that Nf3 check. I am 2100 blitz rated on lichess, if white night takes rook and black king takes white rook then outside A pawn of black would be unstoppable, white knight is too far to stop it. I hope you get it.
