Gold is the weirdest division there is. You go from playing bad archetypes in gold V to playing blind Despia/Floo players in Gold I
Yeah I legitimately get to plat then play my for fun deck, then try when I drop a bit with what’s good, then play something “based” and tank again. Not really doing it on purpose, kinda just the way it goes if you don’t really want to grind to diamond
Same. I’m in Gold experimenting with a Yang Zing deck I put together and it’s been nothing but one weird deck after another. Yesterday, I played a guy who was running an Exodious The Ultimate Forbidden Lord deck which is about as Jank as it gets. I won but it was bizarre.
despia, branded, adventure and floo are everywhere throughout gold rank.
i rarely see anything that isnt any of those.
wish i would get some jank players now and again to get some easier wins and not just sit through 10 minutes of floo plays then scoop cause i bricked on the draw.

@@uteriel282 yo same, idk where all these jank duelists come from in gold, my gold matches are either the normal meta or ultra cancer floodgate turbo, with a sprinkle of DM and BE players bricking for 10 years straight
This is why staying in lower ranks can be so much fun. You have a much higher chance of getting wild duels like these.
Well as long as you're not playing a good deck, yeah. Then staying in lower is scummy.
@@york7301 There's some people with diamond and plat frames playing on lower rank with tier 1 decks in casual. If they want to play tier 1 deck, just play ranks.

An unexpected Magic Cylinder will get you every time.
I was in Gold III a while ago, thought I got lucky with a Raye, Area Zero, Droplet, Ash, and 2 Limiter Removal in one hand vs a field of 2 backrow and a set monster. Did the Raye + AZ combo for shits and giggles, got Jamming Waves making me feel even luckier. Went to Hayate, popped one of the set backrow, some trap I forget the name of burned me for 2000 for destroying it, dropped the 2 Limiter Removal to boost Hayate to 6000 and swung directly.
He flips Magic Cylinder and I kill myself for exact damage.
I felt a fury previously unknown to me, having been played so hard.
I feel like I have to say this:

I rather want to be on the lower ranks and face against random decks than going to Platinum or Diamond and face against the same thing over and over again.

Where do people find these duelists in Gold? Every duel I have there is full meta decks with optimal ratios and otherwise.

i feel so relieved to see these replays after watching Tear mirror milling each player's entire deck
If you pitch Unification by Duza effect, you can link climb to get knightmares then at the last combo then you get Crimson Nova. It works really well with Grass is Greener. You can end your link climb by making either avramax or accescode. Indiora also a great protection that can get you back up to 3 cubic monsters in gy, it's a good protection since a lot of player don't read its effects. It's not all about Crimson Nova turbo. A good cubic player should know that every card has more than 2 effects and can do alot of utilities.

As a cubic player, this is true. It's important to know how to link climb when necessary and know what everything does so if you somehow get stopped or brick too hard you can stall effectively. By far one of the most fun decks to stall with. Cubic mandala is a bonkers card if you manage to trigger it.
As a skull servant deck user, I was molding at how he was playing this deck, he could easily had way more attack and protection from lady and a link kuriboh, still won so I guess it didn't matter

fun fact no cubic card eff is hard once per turn except the crimson nova brn effect... So no 9k damage on end phase either way lmao
I like low rank duels cus they don't end in a turn and you can actually sometimes get super fun duels
My favorite Magic Cylinder play was against Numeron Dragon. They cleared my whole board but one backrow...then attacked with a 16000 ATK Numeron dragon...
I have been playing a lot of Kozmo, and it is always a deck that shocks people and such. For some reason, I have won an absurd amount against good decks with them, and I think it’s because of how different they play and how rare they are to see. People don’t know how to respond on average
Low-ranked is kind of how I wish YGO still was. Skill mattered more than how many negates you can either set up or power through
As a Toon player exiled to Mid Gold, I can attest that its much more fun here in low rank lol
I win most of my games because the other player bricked or can't read.

@@kauanjos3199 Oh its definitely not a lot of rewards. But still better than nothing and the way master duel works you are better off doing some grinding at the very least so the lower levels of the rank provide a lot of folks a decent enough balance of grinding (low rewards but still better than zero) and being able to use and play against a variety of decks that aren't necessarily meta.
Lower ranks seem so much fun what the fak!! The crazy random stuff happening is so freaking awesome.
I like how coder was thinking both or all 3 cubic deity's would burn its a once per turn effect and cant do both or all 3 but the once.

Mid to low rank duels are so much more fun
Stuff like this makes me wish for a combo locked ban list. Not fully banning certain card but banning cards in certain archetypes based on deck ratio. It'd make weird techs and probably be able to slow the game and make more decks viable by messing with consistency and combo ability without nuking others that need the tech.

Might not have been able to activate the effect at all. Triple Dragon specifically says it can be used to negate a spell/trap or monster effects used during the damage step. Magic Cylinder activates during attack declaration and negates the attack so it happens before the damage step.
The low tiers seem like so much fun. Videos like this make me so jealous. Diamond is actual garbage.

hm gold? every time i play in gold its just 5 soulswords in a row followed by some wierd fusion deck (idk the name) that banishes all my cards and removes them from my hand so i start turn 1 with 2 cards plus it has 5 negates or smth dumb like that.

yeah, low ranks is where the harder players be at. Mainly cause they ain showin an ounce of mercy, simple combo to simply end the match they ain there to play they there to get gems and go
I had buster dragon on the field and my opponent activated zombie world and all the monsters became zombies why?
AFAIK, Buster dragon only effects opponent's monsters while Zombie World actually effects all monsters on the field and both graveyards and seeing as it was activated after BD it takes priority. It could still be that BD's effect was still there but overridden by ZW.
