- Come and walk around Kathmandu with us during Tihar vlog, it is the festival of lights here in Nepal. We meet lots of locals and try some street food! We love the atmosphere here in Kathmandu and wanted to share it with you!
If you're new here - welcome and so we're happy to have ya here!! We are Lost In Transit aka Tom and Iz - we normally live in a Ford Transit Van and travel around Europe. We recently left our van in a Romanian airport car park and spontaneously booked flights to Nepal to backpack for a while! We are absolutely loving it here, it's incredible, subscribe and join us as we travel into the unknown! It'll be great to have you on the adventure with us!
Who are we? 💁🏼♀️
We're Tom and Iz, a young couple from Cornwall, the UK, who live and travel full time in our van La Bamba. We decided to take a break from the van for a while and go backpacking! We love nature and try to spend as much time as possible wild swimming, hiking and being outdoors! 10 years ago we had a whirlwind summer romance, then went our separate ways to travel and go to university and fast forward 4 years later, we found ourselves back in the same place at the same time as each other and the rest is history.

Many congratulations 🎊 guys its really appreciated.
Happy Diwali Tihar yes we have many cultural verity cultural many thanks guys.
Many thanks guys
This was a beautiful video. The interactions with the kids in the streets were great. Cultures colliding, but with the most positive aspects of social media in common, crossing divides. Wonderful to see. Thank you for sharing.
Nepal is country where u can see living history . I am from pillipines.❤

I'm from Nepal but I worked in UAE so I haven't celebrate TIHAR for 7 years so when I saw your videos the vibes is so real really enjoyed miss my childhood when we used to go outside in the night and we're doing same as the young kids thank you so much for your amazing videos I hope you guys we're enjoying in Nepal and you're fine thank you again 👏👏👏🇳🇵god bless both of you always 🥰
Why?? Diwali is now widely celebrated in UAE
India has one day celebrating diwali
We Nepalese Celebrate 5 days
Proud to be a Nepali
Our religion and culture are very rich
I don't understand why Nepalese try to compare with India 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@lifeislikeanicecreamenjoyb4360 cuz people compare it with diwali and majority of the people thinks diwali and tihar is the same which is NOT. and does it even matter as comparing similar cultures and sharing the differences is always interesting.
@@lifeislikeanicecreamenjoyb4360 SO WHAT HAPPENED BRO... BROTHERS ALWAYS COMPARE ♥ EACH OTHER.... DEFAULT SETTING....EVEN ME AND MY BROTHER....

Many parts of india celbrate 5 days too and just like in nepal they have new year in 4th day too which is lunar calander new year.
Talking , singing and dancing with the kids was fabulous. Love interacting with the youth of the country. 🎉🎉
What a friendly festival with such lovely people. So pleased you're having such a great time. A lifetime of wonderful experiences crammed into a few weeks 😊
The kids were amazing, seemed really confident and happy.
Yeah they are
lucky guys to explore dashain and tihar 2 of the greatest festival in nepal, enjoy guys
♥
You really captured the vibe of the festival. Really good editing I thought. Your vlogs go from strength to strength. Thanks guys. Stay safe.
This so wholesome Tom and Iz - thanks for bringing this special occasion to us all
You are so good with people and especially the children, so heartwarming to see! 🥰
Well done to you both. You should be very proud of yourselves. Fab content. Such respectful visitors to other cultures. I love your channel and your genuine kindness. From the Wild Atlantic Way in Ireland.
It’s really amazing and I love the kids they are so confident when you chat to them and the shops are brilliant love the haggling 👍🏻🇮🇪☘️
Few suggestions:
1. While crossing the road, just give signs to the drivers to slow them down
2. If you want to buy something, ask a local how much would they pay for it, so that you know the actual price and can bargin according.
Tq for your suggestions I . Your first point is absolutely correct but second one u r wrong nepali people never take high price to tourist so don't be judgemental .I hope u make opinion by visiting Nepal not by assumed 🤗
@@sonatimilsina6797 9.30 do you really think a simple cap cost 2k? and you can hear them saying " alik sasto vanna partheyo" which translates to we should've said the price a little lower than that.
@@sonatimilsina6797 nani Nepal maa kun chai hat lai 2k parxa?? I would have bought it in about Rs 300 350 max...its sad there are few people like them sellers ..they are a disgrace
@@sonatimilsina6797 people like this shop owner exist everywhere, so Sona, you don't need to be ashamed as it doesn't defame our country. Pls learn to give right info to the tourist instead of faking, just to make someting look good while it's not.

What a fun festival to join! It's awesome to see you jump in the excitement with the locals These trails to artwork are so cool to see....not to mention the lights everywhere! You two are so inspiring how you fully take in the culture! Thanks for a great share!
What an incredible experience. Love discovering the country and culture with you ❤
The slowmo shot of walking past the Tuktuk with the music is awesome.
During Deusi/Bhailo, children as well as adults visit the houses in their neighbourhood and villages, The songs sung during Deusi/Bhailo are mostly blessings for the house owner. The singers sing about the hardship they endured to reach the house and give blessing to the house owner.
Amazing, thank you for the information!
What a lovely adventure....Keep on exploring Nepal..
There are lot of differences between Neplese tihar and Indian Diwali. But one major difference is that we play vailo or deusi but Indians don't. Vailo or deusi means same like singing carol and dancing. The kids and the youngsters are playing vailo or deusi
and also they dont celebrate bhaitika , kukur tihar , crow puja , mha puja etc
India not doing kukur puja cow n kaag puja but they say Dewali but nepali say depawoli.bhai tika also not doing india.
What about animals worship and bhai tika man
I think indian only celebrate tihar for 1 day only in Laxmi puja and we celebrate it for 5 days and we do verious diiff things
@@darkgaminglive5695 India is much more diverse country so every state celebrate diwali in different way. But in most of the north india it is celebrated five day Dhanteras, narak chaturdashi, Laxmi puja, govardhan puja(cattle worship) and last day is Bhai duj.
For non Nepalese : Tihar is like people enjoying in club but for 5 days straight where the size of club is whole country
Bro it's more than that.
@@preety8651 its more for nepali but for foreigners it wont be more than a club experience cuz that's what they'll relate it to..
@@devendradahal3033 I think you better explain other way.
@@preety8651 like your thinking matters to anyone 😂😂🤔
Thank you again for seeing good talking about positive things rather than the negative aspects... Have a great stay guys!!!
Our Nepalese culture is very Great and Rich ♥️🇳🇵.. other countries don't celebrate festival like Nepal does..we worship and show our respect towards animals & Birds like crow, cow ,dog, ox etc ! Nepali culture is very Rich ♥️🇳🇵 we are so proud 🙏
