Shes a fancy pigeon, domesticated and bred to have enhanced phenotypes of varying colors and physical atributes. A lot of these fancy pigeons have this foot feather mutation, and its really not all that helpful for the bird. Quite cumbersome and often affects their ability to move/ fly.
@@brentrebrab So true! Breeding pigeons this way causes an unfair burden on the animal that is so hard for them to keep clean and manage. Thank you for pointing this out! It also impairs their mobility.
Love what you do rescuing these pigeons! They are so misunderstood. I also have a wonderful rescue King Pigeon and have rescued many others in the past. I’ve found that because wood is porous, it just absorbs odors and can harbor harmful bacteria. Pigeons don’t really gravitate toward these kinds of branches. They like platforms, and when they are inside, they really prefer soft blankets and cool sheets to sleep and walk on. It’s great because you can wash and dry these things more easily than the natural materials they don’t require as indoor birds. Another great tip is cat trees because of the platforms and height to look out windows and replicate their love of tall buildings in cities. They also love to nest and sleep in soft cat houses. You can spot clean and steam clean to sanitize. They really do love clean nests. I’ve found that they prefer layered fleece, soft pillowcases when it’s warmer, and cushioned areas because they are heavier birds. They have a hard time walking and balancing on thinner branches.
I stand with you ! They aren’t the rats of the sky and they don’t carry all the diseases people use to say around. Pigeons are so magical. Here my city Hamburg Germany during the pandemic the pigeons didn’t have much to eat so before the sun comes out I went to bring food to the pigeons 🐦 so no one could see it. Many times I come to leave food for them. I got proper bird food and feed the little ones 🐦
Beautiful couple! Thank You for sharing their story. I like joking with people saying they are “racist” if they say not nice thing’s about pigeon’s 😅. I then tell them TRUE stories of brave HERO pigeon’s saving soldier’s live’s in the war’s… how intelligent they are etc, I know I’ve changed a few mind’s over the year’s. ❤
I just started feeding wild pigeons and finally see how sweet and silly they are, and their personalities. They are really very lovely creatures. They do poop a lot though.
That's wonderful to hear! Feeding and observing wild pigeons can be a cool experience. They often display unique personalities and behaviors that showcase their sweetness and silliness. 🤩
Finding a friend for your grumpy male ringneck dove is a great idea! Introducing a companion can help improve his social interactions and overall well-being. Take it slow and ensure proper introductions to give them the best chance at becoming friends. Good luck! 🕊️🤞
@Cuddle Buddies Thank you for your help! I just placed a local ad looking for a possible buddy for my lonely guy. 🤞Hoping for a positive response soon!
Absolutely! Pigeons can indeed make wonderful pets. They are intelligent, clean, and curious creatures that can form strong bonds with their human caregivers. Their unique characteristics and behaviors can bring joy and companionship to those who appreciate them.♥️🥰
Everyone deserves a Soul mate. I have pigeons that come to our backyard and roost. They sometimes rest out on my back balcony. I have some seed and a bath out there for them. They seem to enjoy it. Ana and Grumpkin are lucky and I’m glad they have each other. ❤
I’ve never seen a pigeon like Ana with feathers on her feet. She’s so pretty.

Ana’s bird feet feathers are tremendous! She’s a real looker, no wonder Grumpkin couldn’t resist her. Fabulous birds🤍♥️.

👌I have a very grumpy male ringneck dove, and this encourages me to find a friend for him. I was fearful he'd be too mean for a mate. Thank you!

Grumpkin appears to view you as a potential rival for Ana.
His aggressive behavior is protective and meant to be attractive to Ana.
Did you quarantine the sick pigeon and get him better before introducing?
I raise pigeons and that was my first thought. Never bring a sick bird around your healthy ones.
He was in strict quarantine for two months before introducing! :)
How do pigeon eggs taste?
