@@endemistremere7997 thx, though now it was mentioned that propably the way weapons are stacked wont work anylonger therefor i wonder if this design will (need to) be adjusted.
Railguns can shoot through the gaps of blast door armor when they're lined sideways, they're better than regular heavy armor for railgun armor because they do not deform, and also, they can be arranged in more aesthetically pleasing manners, no need for awkward angles in the ship.
I tried to do this on one of my ships, but after testing found that blast door blocks blocked the rail gun shot... interesting that it works for you. I'll try again and see if I was mislead
Just tested it again, it still worked for me. But tested it with multiple layers and it seems it only works with one layer of blast door armor. Two or more will block your shot. Still, posted a picture on your discord. 😅
Worth noting that my ship has 2 distinct planes on the front where railguns come out of, leading to perhaps 4 different combinations, although it is the same overall shape
The railgun is another one of those projectiles that have a minimum distance dead zone so you can hide it by slapping plate blocks on it The rocket launcher is also like this but not the Gatling or such
I had thought of the third option as it looks like it could be a hanger bay door Maybe it could make the second type of ship that looks exactly the same till doors open, 50/50 chance it be wall of rail guns or small fleet of smaller ships, Alternative just thought of, if you made rail gun wall a module that you can remove or add, you could make it one ship design that when this model added you get rail guns but when you remove them it carrier for other stuffall in one design?
You can move around and it will be fine because railgun rounds inherit your velocity. The only thing that you have to watch out for is turning really fast while you are firing.
While putting welders behind railguns is a good idea, I don't trust welders alone. If you get hit with enough damage, the railgun and the welder behind it will be completely destroyed. And if you are using more than 8 railguns (*cough* alehouse *cough*) you might be S stacking, which makes it nearly impossible to weld all of your railguns efficiently. Also if your opponent times their railgun shot well, they can temporarily disable some of your railguns when you are about to fire them, drastically reducing the effectiveness of your first strike and finally, lugging around an entire battle's worth of components plus all of your ammo is a great way to be slow.
That second design that your friend made is really cool looking, thank you for showing it
anyone has a blueprint for that?

I like railguns on pistons... Just because it's cool to "run out the guns".

i randomly started watching this video and was very surprised to hear you mentioned
That thumbnail made me think: “Congratulations! You reinvented gun ports!”
Can you still shoot when its deformed or do you damage yourself?

*you CAN kinda armor turrets. if you put a welder under them.
"are you sticking out your railgun to shoot me or are you happy to see me?"
Helpful video for the community👍

very nice

2:30 any chance you could provide us with a steam workshop link for that ship of your friend?
What I did was tuck some railgun behind double layer blast doors
0:45 would this still work if the grid was moving? Would the railgun bullet still not hit the armor blocks?

Така проблема можлива тільки з ракетами 😅
I don't need that, my railguns, it's my front Armor. Railguns+ welders : immortal front

Bruh... what's with the audio on this video!? It hurts to listen to.
This is what happens when i don't volume boost the audio
I gotta say, while this is a VERY good fucking guide, the mic quality genuinely hurts my ears. Still a very cool video though, man

Is the second option on the workshop? If not can you share the blueprint?
I made a mdified Projekten but there are a few mod modifikations but not heavly changed.
bad audio, you cut out a lot when talking
It sucks that I can't have nice looking ships thanks to meta bullshit...
