Watch as I (almost) completely destroy this chunk of Olympic potch and colour. Maybe I should’ve carved it 😬.. Still, it should make some nice doublets and inlay..
Oh what a lovely specimen and I think you did very well dissecting the best out of it. But I wonder how it may have turned out carved? I'd be interested in a twisty one like that! Lovely material and love what you do mate. To me the twists are what I'm after and inclusions encourage details. But it could all go to pieces at any time. I dropped a 10ct black opal carving today a finished one! Now it will be two and "that's opal" expect the unexpected . Cheers mate.
