    Been trying to make my DIY leds for video use but I can't find a cheap floodlight with proper 100w driver.
    I like their form factor as they're small and compact but can work for bounce lights in tight areas. However, I want to use high CRI LEDs and the ones I own don't have a built in driver, which unfortunately seems to be the case with most of these cheaper floodlights with horrible color casts.
    Lot of DIY builds have very odd form factors which make them difficult for production environments, other than flexible light panels.
    I want a cheap LED par or flood light that I can easily swap COBs on!!!

      high cri is a major deciding factor.Look at the MRP of GODOX SL60 W its around 9000 rs u will need atleast 3 for a decent production + added light modifiers and stands a minimum of 55000rs

    Be careful with this setup as you're not confirming if the delivered current is in spec with what the LED can handle. Best to check with a multimeter to see how far you can go. If you go over you'll greatly reduce the LED lifespan.

    • @NeverSuspects
      @NeverSuspects Před 3 měsíci

      LED are diode and have a forward voltage where they just turn 'on'. Using a pot to adj resistance would require not only a pot that can handle that much current would not make much if any difference in brightness. You would want to use a PWM circuit with a mosphet that can handle the current and you would change the duty cycle of the on time to create a perceived difference in brightness. It turns the power off and on very quickly from on 100% of the time for full brightness to something less like 60% on time. This would be a more reliable and probably less expensive but more complicated circuit to give you a brightness control. This is how most led flashlights work and give you the output options.
