If anyone was curious, we had a bit of misinformation in our Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit review. As it's much harder to fix a video after it's gone live, we found it important enough to remove the video and fix the error with a fresh new upload! 🍄 Apologies for this, hope you enjoy the review!
No worries! I was wondering what happened to the review, but I’m glad you took the liberty of providing correct information.
The error was in regards to the way the Kart connects to your Switch. Lots of new tech to talk about here, so we had some things mixed up!

The only let down for me is that I live in a house that is mostly carpeted

But it can drive on carpet, so you can still play
They might come up with wheel replacement for furrier surfaces
It can easily drive through carpets though, if it gets the stuff from the carpet stuck in the tires, you can easily remove the tires and clean them.
That sinches it: Nintendo's next system is an AR Car, and this is the test version.

I'm curious as to how drifting actually works in this game because it's mentioned in this review but never shown in practice.
Just like normal Mario kart games. The kart in real life will gain a small boost after a successful drift
Quite accurate to the games actually, I've been doing it no problem
Mario speed "drift", not drift like Tokyo Drift. It doesn't actually slide.
the drift just make the kart go around corners more slow, but you still get a boost after
My experience with it is by far and away the most memorable and fresh twist on games since I first tried on a VR headset. Driving the car under my couch and building a track with shortcuts and risky jumps all surrounded by Christmas lights was so awesome.
An empty Kart that you could put amiibos into would be amazing. Finally give use to them and gives you so many character choices

It's hard to make loopings and other crazy track designs like that with some cardboards though... ;)
TOO MUCH S P E E D
Allowing video recording in the game might also affect performance - the Switch is likely using its dedicated video decoding hardware for the camera feed, and piling on top of that recording probably wouldn't work so well. I imagine the CPU and GPU are all tied up with the AR and rendering, there's a lot going on to make it all work. Video / screenshot recording are a pretty minor feature, though.
I wonder if you can size up the vehicles with a power wheel...take the electronic out of the small kart and put it into 12 volt power wheel?
The motion sickness comment is something I didn't see/hear on other reviews and a great warning! Thanks for including that!

There’s no way they could get 100$ a piece for a game. This doesn’t even come with a cartridge. It’s a free download you could get right now with no download code.
@@ripneighborhoodniprip8303 They’d sell a ton more copies of $60 Mario Kart Maker than the comparatively minuscule number of copies of $100 remote control cars. Hence, far more money. Huuuuge missed opportunity here in terms of profit.
I love everything mk and sadky don't care about this game simply because I don't have a huge american house to play like this and I'm too lazy to move my ass. But you gotta give nintendo credit for always coming up with cool stuff like this. It feels nintendo is the only one actually fucking trying in the game industry whole others just power and improve graphics thinking their half assed games would cut it
Well those half ass games are affordable and playable by everyone, this and Ring Fit Adventure is just some stupid ass novelty bullshit toys for rich kids.

I wonder how long the kart will work when you drive around on a carpet which you walk around on with your shoes.
I could see this being a hit at parties. Your friend with the biggest house hosts while you and your friends bring over your Switches and cars.
Or huge neat tracks at conventions.
I can see Nintendo adding a virtual car option, where you and a friend link up and he plays your race course with a virtual car while your real car interacts with his via software-based collision detection.
That would stimulate the kind of creative race course building that can make this a game-changer, literally.

I kind of like the concept, but I'm all into normal Mario Kart, since my house isn't big enough to create a track good enough.
Honestly been loving the game so far. I love both AR and VR, so a game like this is awesome for me
My major question is if it works on the old MKWii Knex track. I would love to make tracks easily with them.
What happens if you crash into the cardboards?
I’d get this if my house didn’t still have 70s shag carpet.
People can complain about the price but it’s honestly extremely impressive how much tech is packed into the game. I couldn’t have even imagined this when I was kid playing Double Dash in the early-2000s.

I have both Switch, Switch Lite, Mario and Luigi also. My Switch Lite doesn’t give me the option to choose multiplayer at all, only single player. It doesn’t work. Is anyone else having this issue?
The set costs around 172 USD in my region (converted using Google's currency ex rate). That's the same price I paid for my switch lite this year.
It's 99.99 in Us dollars... That's probably an ripoff.

So you need to be connected via WiFi in order for it to work? What if you fire a Red Shell at another RC Car in multiplayer? Will the Car slow down or how would it work?
NOO you sont need wifi, asli yeah the car stops if u get hit by a shell or something

Good review however it seems to lack more video content about what is being said. Why didn’t you record the 2 or 4 player experience? Or circuits that cross the road, or specially working with man-made slopes . A kid will surely try all of this and Im not sure if you didn’t try enough in order to have a prompt review.

Wouldnt be compatible. No camera, maybe not compatible with switch, may only have one speed output.

I just hope it has a pvp offline mode that’s for 1 car and 1 console. Not everyone has multiple switches and can afford multiple cars @ 100$ a piece. I have two switches but I’m not looking forward to having to buy 2 cars to play with my son.
So I want the new Mario kart live but I think they did a few things wrong over at Nintendo. It should have been a 360 camera. Have it only needing for you to drive the course once. Then you can upload your course and play it with friends.

I thought I was the only person that felt sick watching videos of Mario Kart live. It looks like a good toy but for some reason I just can't watch game plays of the game because it just makes my head hurt. It also makes my stomach not feel the greatest. I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt this.
Can't wait to make some water stages in this game.

I know this is a Nintendo channel but this thing is unplayable. I took the cart into 3 different areas and made a small round circuit. The cart can’t get more than 6 feet from the switch and it gets disconnected. I can’t even finish a race because it disconnects.
What is your internet speed? I just got this so I am wondering if the wifi speed is a big factor.
It really sounds like this game should have a Balloon Battle-Mode.

Yes. I believe you only need internet to download the app. I could be wrong tho

oh shit I think I got motion sickness from watching this video. This might mean it's a no go for me.
Marketing make the game design so limiting why just 4 gates when you can make more. Why cant we change character in a software perspective instead of a hardware perspective. Just make the character in the real kart removable. Hori-wheel support? Labo support?Knowing I can't do shit about their decision, I'll still buy it, just to try it with the kids.
As someone that loves video games, loves Mario Kart, and gets motion sick: yes, sadly this video does give me motion sickness after a few minutes. Makes sense. Looks fun.

This looks really cool. Price tag is off-putting however. This costs more than Mario Kart 8 and this game isn't as good as Mario Kart 8 because let's face it, you are limited by the space you have in your room that you are playing the game in and I just feel like it's a lot of money for something you are gonna become bored with over time.
It’s $100.. and you get the car/game and track markers. Most games are $80 just for the game... try again!

@@gabyparra8199 A bit more replay value then. The room always looks the same. Normal Mariokart has snow, mountains, castles etc.
If the room is not so big, you don't have a lot of options. You're not gonna move a closet, big couch or the TV stand just for making a different environment to race in.
