  • In a recent video, I showed you how to use an oscilliscope to set the gains on car audio systems. I mentioned a $40 Amazon scope in that vid. Well, I orderd one and tried it! it works pretty, check it out!

    What it's that set x1. It's good to keep x1 or to x10 ? I have an oscilloscope dso 152 fnirsi, and i don't know how it's beter x1 or x10. Must to be at 20 v or 10v ?

This test is set at 10v, that gives you a good view of the waveform, as the signal is less than 10 volts. The x1 vs x10 is based on the probe settings, x1 is standard, x10 reduces the signal to 1/10th strength, that is not needed here.

It can be a bit goofy. If you pause the screen, you can see my settings.

You hook up the test leads to the head unit like normal

is there any way on these/any head units to lower the max volume (to 24 in your case) so it thinks max volume is 24 or do you just have to know and not turn it above 24?

@@Reddirtrodz appreciated! been living with it for a while on my head unit and it would be a great feature for these manufacturers

My alpine radio has a vol lv ajuster. If I turn it up or down it seems to act just like a volume knob. My understanding would be turning the volume lvl adjust down by however many numbers until max. Say radios max is 35 but you have distortion at 29 so you would turn it down to -8 so that at 35 your only actually playing 28. If I'm wrong on this assumption pls let me know.
