This video shows you how to install a new pitman arm on your 1997-2003 Ford F-150. A bad pitman arm can cause poor steering response, wandering, pulling and uneven tire wear. It can also be dangerous.

You had to cut through the pitman arm. Why did you remove that footage? People need to see the real deal in order to do the job correctly.
PSA: just a small detail now that will help you out later, you only need to bend one tab on the cotter pin. The only purpose is to prevent it from falling out. It will be much easier to get it out next time than if you bend them both. Just bend the longer one straight back and you're golden.
I went straight for cutting the pitman arm. took a while trying to be careful about the shaft but I got it done. Did at the same time as the idler arm so there was plenty of movement of the bar to move things around
For anyone about to attempt this on a truck newer than 98 (frame in the way): 1- a 32mm will fit but it will need to be pushed on with a pry bar (I used an end wrench) 2- the pitman arm will most likely not come off as easy as shown in the video I have the same air hammer turned up 60psi past the rated pressure and it won’t budge, get a puller like an OTC 6496.
lol I like the part where you jump over the part everyone really wants to know, which is how did you actually get it off? Air hammer it once or twice and then jump to the part is way more banged up and burned and even has a grinder cut in it... and of course it comes right off... yeah, right! be much more useful to see all that worked to finally get it off.
I've found a 34mm half in drive to work the best for fitment for anyone having issues

Your missing the dust boot that goes in between keep the shaft from rusting premature seal leaks
Do the gear box have a seal where pitman arm connects to the bottom of gear box
I have 2004 f150 4x4 heritage
I think mine is a 33 mm socket because the 32 didn’t want to go in.
Can I do this without taking the wheel off?
why was the arm replaced? Was it stripped?
8:26 thats why there is such a big range on the spec. you go to the lower one and then tighten it to line up. You over torqued them.
You should've cleaned, and wirebrushed that hub surface. And put some antiseize on it💥so that wheel wil come off easy next time !!!
My steering wheel is crooked. Did I miss 1 of the slots
It’s not nice to be misleading to people, when you go to timestamp 444 to 455, you inform everybody that either using a hammer or a pneumatic hammer is what needed to remove The pivot arm. What you don’t tell everybody and unless you’re paying attention, you had to use an angle grinder in order to cut said pivot arm then you fake out the whole thing to finish taking it off with the air hammer. If you’re gonna give videos like this why don’t you be honest with everybody and show what you really have to do instead of hiding what really needs to be done just so that you can get clicks your messed up you’re wrong.
