I bought a 99 Dakota with a 5.2 V8 magnum with 152,000 original miles...easy to work on, and worth all of the 3k i spent for it. Very tough truck, and good luck finding a newer mid size truck with a 6.4 ft bed let alone a V8. So, yep its a keeper.🤓🤙

They are fantastic trucks. Last forever if you keep up with the maintenance. I have the 2003 Dodge Dakota Club Cab 3.9L V6.
Yours should be the 3.7L V6. My truck has the towing package. I really enjoy it. You bought one of the best Trucks ever made. The new Ram trucks today are built to fail at 70,000 miles. The trans will fail most likely 1st on the new trucks. Our engine and transmission, should last 350,000 to 400,000 at least. Welcome to the Club. Oh, one more thing. Up north, you will have rust issues on all Dodge trucks, knock rust off, undercoat ASAP. I live in Florida, my truck body and frame still looks like it just pulled off the factory floor. Few scratches in the paint. If you go fast around turns, you will wear out the bearings.

Fix it up. They don't make trucks like these anymore and pretty soon all they'll make is ev trucks....
