We hope our explanation/comparisons wont be misinterpreted negatively. As we know ,cultures are different in each country and thats the beauty of it! We are not looking down on any of the cultures but simply explaining what Liz found to be new to her. We love and respect both Kenya and UK🇬🇧🇰🇪
You don't have to worry at all as We really understand what you mean. Liz❤Trust me you will definitely catch up with the language within three years as you are very bright and open minded to learn new things not only Londoner language but also scouse(Liverpool) Gaelic(Scottish) etc.all you have to learn is how to cool yourself down and relax as Atti your beloved husband dose to catch up with what they are saying and smoothly communicate with everyone on your way.Much love and wishing you all the best from the Northwest UK❤❤
It was entertaining hearing you tells us your culture shocks 😊 I had the almost the same experience except for the accent when I came here to love in Canada. There are so many immigrants living here. However, you look very happy. GOD BLESS YOU BOTH 🙏 ❤
Yes same in Botswana for shoping services. They even help you carry your groceries to the car. What you said about UK Liz I experience that in Ireland while i was visiting Dublin
Yes living in another country is always very different from where you came from because in the Caribbean people are more friendly and concerned more than the US, smoking is hi here for old and young so there are many things that i preserve from the way i was brought up... people also address individuals with more respect in the Caribbean when they greet or hold a conversation with them...i am from a small island where people respect other people's property and stealing is almost non existant and people will offer you a ride in their vehicle if they are going the same direction as you are but yes there is a lot of new and different things to experience in a new country and with time you will survive ...just always glad to see my most favourite youtube couple ....you both are the best and thanks so much for sharing these differences...we love you Liz and Atti....greetings from Bronx NY
Happy weekend to you both,l lived in England for 6 years and 3 years in Scotland and l was lucky to quickly adopt to their culture and their language but you're so right Liz; it's hard to understand the different twangs
I am from the USA!! I am currently in Germany been here 2 years now. It is a cultural shock to all people from different countries!! You will learn to adapt.. Although there are differences you will learn to appreciate the differences. I'm sure your husband felt the same way!! I think he embraced it more!! Would love to here the same video from him!! 😊
Hi my Sis. And brother, I must say I am a born American with a Southern Accent. I must admit I'm in love an fascinated with the British Accent, London England. Loved this video, Thank you, for sharing. ❤️❤❤️
Liz, I had the same culture shock when I went to America, then I came here and it was another culture shock. In some supermarkets in New York , teenagers have the job to pack your bags. Even now, I am still getting used to some things here.
Hahahaha Liz I can relate about the crime, when hubby goes to the shop in the evening I still ask him to lock the door. When I’m driving I still put my bag under my chair, hubby just doesn’t get it. I haven’t experienced any form of racism whatsoever, Wales is absolutely lovely. Even in my workplace, fairness is the order of the day. It’s just great!
Hi my lovely couple,Lizz are true, because is the new country and outside Africa, i love the way Atti let you express alk experience culture and compare it with yours. He let you say all no interrupt you. I love you guys ❤❤
I admire how you pay attention to your new environment, quite alert and smart. In this world its alwsys great to pay sttention to deails anout life. Its educational and it cann serve as a protection for you. When you mention Nitobie town it reminds me do much of downn town Kingston JA. Life ,enjoy you new and intresting environment and all the best to you and hub.
Good morning for California. I love you two, I've been watching since you came to live with your husband Liz. I love how you all exalt Christ in your videos, and it looks like you two love one another. I'm along for the ride and I hope to keep enjoying videos from you all daily/weekly. To God be the glory!
Liz you made my day. 😂😂😂 Your expression on the thumbnail. 😅 DIYs are a thing there. The layering part look crazy, i can't imagine the level of cold during winter. ❄️ Girl you're glowing. The happiness on your faces was worth the wait. 🤍
You two love birds are both glowing, you are looking awesome 😎 you are really happy,I'm so happy for you guys 🥰❤️ from south Africa Limpopo province Tzaneen 💃🏾💃🎉
I love your sweater Liz. I think everyone speaks their native language fast and slang makes "it worser". I watch African movies and they talk extremely fast so I use closed caption sometimes. Don't feel bad though bc I can't understand slang from my own country, USA. Unfortunately racism is worldwide but some ppl hide it better than others. You guys just look so cute together. Love you both. God bless you too ❤
I love Nollywood movies on Netflix. I use the closed-caption on some if them as well, because they speak so fast. The lingo in the states is changing with Gen Z. 😂 I am getting on my daughters nerves because I don’t understand what they’re saying.
Liz, good vlog on your experiences of culture chocks in the UK! # 1-(smoking) Well in the US ( a big country) of course you are going to have smokers & non-smokers. But time has changed a lot and now you have lots of people who use e-cigarettes , many have stopped because of high cases of cancer, and 2nd hand smoke. #2 accents; Oh yes, I live in Miami, Fl, which is a 'melting pot' of different countries, just like the UK.. It can be very challenging in the beginning , but I find the longer you are living there it gets a little easier. I happen to love to hear the people talking in their 'Native' languages, it sounds beautiful to me. #3 cold and grey days, is seen in different parts of the country you live in. Florida has 2 seasons; the wet & rainy season & the dry season. # Do it yourself- In the US you have the options of bagging your own groceries or the clerk/cashiers will do it. It all depends on the Stores & their policies #5 Police - I will tell you (and I don't live in the UK) that your police dept is 'Top Notch' and ranked at the top as one of the best in the world. What really stands out for much of their success are there are cameras everywhere. So you can feel safe. In the US we too can call the police dept to complain on neighbors etc. #6, Yes lots of makeup & lashes in the US. Some women know how to apply makeup, others, 'Not-So-Much'! Make-up & fashion makes us look and feel good, and London is like the US, we love fashion and will do anything to keep up with it. #7 Racism- well I know that will never go away. It is seen all over the world, even racism with in your own country, city & state of people. Now the fact that you have not experienced it yet ( or to a small degree) is great for you. Happy Friday!
Awhh thansks so much for telling me us how it is from your country, i find culture to be so fascinating 😍😍yes so far haven’t experienced racism, if anything, i find people here to be so kind and lovely 🫶🏾🫶🏾
With time you get used and don’t have to layer. 🇩🇪 Germany is colder than UK 🇬🇧 but after a while I can go out with just a pullover and was just discussing with my nephew that when it’s 2 or 3 degrees we say it’s warm 🤣🤣🤣
Noooo..thats not good, dont be judgemental.....they are not bad as such...so long as they are decent and behaving right,,,I don't see the need to judge them...iventually they will stop ✌
I don’t smoke and I am not around to many people that smoke but in America not strange to see teenagers smoke, this has be going on for long like ever, We have self check and pump your own gas because there are just too many people for cashiers to do it all, and pump your gas for you to. And no I do no call my boss sir, never had call them by there first name. So does everybody else. America seems like London everybody in a hurry and people mind there own business.Kenya sounds like and looks like to me like it is in a different time zone, not to be harsh. But it seems like Africa is like in past.like in the 60’s or 70’s .
Yeeeey the accent is different. I am in the UK for 11 months now and I work in the bank. First day at work I heard 20 different English accents in 1 day and I come from South Africa 😂😂😂😂😂🤣 I still can’t differentiate which English accent I’m dealing with. I love it though ❤️❤️ the cold is not as bad as my hubby told me. He wears shorts in the cold I just layer up and have fun ❤️❤️
For me smoking and dunked pple are my nop go zone! But am happy to see u healthy and happy and finally happy to share for us what you are experiencing my guyz
