Two things I love about this video: learning how to depict distant, bare trees in pastel (which is really challenging for me), and seeing pastel pencils wuth erasers! Great video and beautiful painting.

I also love how you aren't afraid to use pure white and black pastels. The results are stunning and negate claims that using straight white and/or black makes for a flat or lifeless painting. This piece has plenty of depth and life.

Your welcome Matt, I got that set of Reeves soft pastels you said for me to get like as a beginner :) I also got some Derwent pastel pencils and some Faber Castell polychromos colour pencils.
I already have prismacolour ones, I've only used them once when i did the secrets course the turtle :) as I've only worked with graphite I do want to experiment with new mediums, those I've just mentioned plus charcoal, I want this to be my most creative year yet.
Plus I'll get back onto your portrait course,I just started that before Christmas then I was ill a lot before and after Christmas with 2 lots of flu viruses and colds and chest infections !!
So I've missed about 2 and half month, its just getting back into the spring of it.
I want to do the tiger you did as well.
All that and some of my own projects which go with the portrait course.
All the best Matt again thanks for all you do for us aspiring artist :)

I HAVE THE 72 FABERCASTEL BRAND, WHICH FOR A STUDENT BRAND WERE ALMOST 60.00 IN MY AREA, I HAD A COUPON WHICH HELPED. I HAVEN'T USED BUT SOME SAY THEY ARE DUSTY.
