- COMPLETE version of UST Hymn
Seat of Aquinas, majestic enduring
the storms of the ages.
Shrine of our ancient fathers,
Carved in these isles domain
This is the castle imperious.
This is the home of our sages.
Blessed by the Cross of the angels,
Gift of our Mother Spain!
Deep in her echoing chambers
Flames of eternal yearning
Cast their benignant shadows
athwart this beloved land.
Keeping the torches of freedom
and heave forever burning.
Deep in the heart led by the Saviour's
command.
(Chorus)
God of all nations
Merciful Lord of our restless being,
Sweep with your golden lilies;
This fountain of purest light;
Trace with the sails of the galleons
the dream beyond our seeing
Touch with the flame of your kindness
the gloom of our darkest night.
Keep us in beauty and truth and virtues
impassioned embrace
Ever your valiant legions
IMBUED WITH UNENDING GRACE!
Lyrics: Dr. Jose Ma. Hernandez

UP alumnus here. I first heard of the full version of the UST Hymn during one of the Conservatory's events at CCP many years ago. Kami pa nun ng girlfriend ko, who was a Music major. It is more beautiful hearing the hymn in full than just listening to the more familiar "God of all nations, merciful Lord of our restless being" part that is often being played after UAAP games where the UST teams took part.
This should be played again as the official UST hymn. If not played during the baccalaureate mass.
Gift of our Mother Spain
UST hymn sounds like the Russian National Anthem and the Ateneo Hymn sound like the Canadian National Anthem.
I remembered that this particular version was played during my baccalaureate mass (2016), that is the only specific year that they played the hymn, at least to my knowledge. The other baccmass from different time periods played the Short one. All of the university's events until graduation played the Short one. It is rare to hear this at a public event outside the university probably select UST Symphony Orchestra events (but not all).
Only God knows the way of Healing and no one can be judgement by doctor even doctor they never explain the situation of sickness of there own Patient.
Would have been a nice national anthem for the Philippines
my first time to hear full version..i never heard such complete version during my medical school days..or maybe i was engrossed in gross anatomy physiology microbiology parasitology...para makatapos...
UST should've recorded and uploaded a studio recording of this full hymn for its quadricentennial. But they can upload it again anytime.
I know maam Sideno brought you here
Inever tire listening to my alma mater song and the college of the holy spirit college hymn.lagi kayong nasa puso. Rosyjg❤❤❤
Purely awesome! Thank and praise Lord Jesus! In Nomine Patris et Filii et Spiritus Sancti amen Hallelujah
God of all nations
Wow. Thanks for sharing this. Ang ganda rin pala ng full version nito. I'm not from UST but I admire her hymn so much.
I was lucky enough to hear this wonderful full version live in one of the Conservatory of Music's events in CCP. I was surprised when I heard the first lines. Ang swerte ng Music kasi sila lang lagi nakakaexperience makarinig nito. Haha. Nakakaiyak siya pakinggan sa ganda and my friend and I really wished na eto na lang ang ipatugtog lagi sa bacc mass. :( <3
Sarap pakinggan ng paulit ulit. Ito na ata pinakamagandang school hymn na narinig ko lol
Not a Thomasian, but oh, do I feel so proud and honored to hear this.
I finally graduated less than 2 weeks ago after 8 years in UST and I was kinda expecting the complete version to be played at the end of the Solemn Investitures
I'm not thomasian but i love it sarap pAkinggan.
Aghh bakit hindi pa tinuturo toh samen sa jhs... :(( this full version is A R T.
