  • Having just completed cycling the Camino de Compostela, a pilgrimage that begins in the French town of Saint Jean Pied de Port and ends in Santiago de Compostela Spain, I talk about the mountain bike that I rode over the 800 kms, and why, as well how I got it back home.
My journey began in Sydney Australia. I lugged my bicycle half way around the world. 20hrs by plane, 8 hrs by bus. Sydney - Dubai - Barcelona - Pamplona - Saint Jean Pied de Port. The bike remained in a box until we arrived in France....phew, what an effort.
After minor assembly, I was ready to go. Over the Pyrenees and across Spain and it's amazing towns. Don't leave this one in your bucket list, start organising yourself now!
Feel free to leave a comment or ask a question. I know how difficult it is to find the right information sometimes. I hope this video has helps.

Great videos, we are hoping to bike this next year. I think dual suspension would have been overkill, dual suspension is for offroad downhill MTB tracks. Agree 29 inch are great, so much more get up and go.

Hey Rod love both the leedup and reviews of the bike and riding the Camino. I'm looking at doing 700ks starting at Pamplona next year. Have walked the 800ks so I know how hard some sections are. You've helped out with my decision on acquiring a bike as didn't see the point/ cost of bike hire. Any chance of a follow-up video of your ride along the different areas?
