Filling my raised garden bed

This is my attempt at the Hegelkultur method in my raised bed
“Hügelkultur” is a German word that means mound culture or hill culture. A hügelkultur is a sloped and raised planting bed filled with topsoil, wood, and organic materials. German and European people have practiced it as a gardening method for hundreds of years.

hiya just about to do the same with raised beds, does it matter about the the size of the logs, being put in cheers

It depends on if you’re growing root vegetables or not. I decided to move my big logs to one side so that it won’t interfere with the carrots 🥕 that I plan to plant. I like to have at least 12 inches of soil to allow for good root development.
