YES! Reactivity is NOT aggression.
My girl is the same way..
@@louissaganira2051 Same! My guy is Uber excited and wants to greet everyone. He also dislikes certain breeds off the bat - especially when leashed. But, he’s never attacked any dogs but he looks like he would when he dramatically pulls or barks. It’s hard!
@@mhapriso exactly....but super friendly...this is why this is my favourite episode
it can lead to aggression though , especially depending on dog it is reacting to
Reactivity CAN be due to aggression. Its not always due to aggression, but its very possible
Props to stains's owner.due to his patience his dog changed fast
Him and his wife seem like really cool owners. Gorgeous dog.
Right?! That’s why this was one of the better episodes of the American version of the show, because he and his wife were very good dog owners. Sure, Shelby had issues with Peanut being super spoiled, but at least she was offended by being told she spoiled him like some have. And Stains was one of the best trained dogs on the show for sure
Australian Shepherds are such smart dogs. Takes only a few tries for them to learn new things. Watching Stains is making me miss my old Aussie.
my aussiedor pup learned sit, stay, come, down, speak, shake, heel, leave it, let go, crate, in 2 months. I barely had to try
At the pet resort, where I work, my boss has two Australian Shepherds that I saw one stay by her side while walking around. They’re a very smart breed.
Oh well, supposedly they are smart, but my 1-year-old is so damn stubborn, he won't do ANYTHING that's asked of him. Though he knows like everything.. we train and train him, us, with the trainer, and a bunch of spent money later he's seemibly getting only worse...
@@SoYulicious bring him to high distraction areas and re-train everything. Praise SUPER WELL for everything good, he’ll learn that whatever is distracting isn’t worth all that praise.
I have a Border Aussie. two such intelligent and active breeds in one dog makes for a handful. But I love my girl, and she is such a character. she has a similar reaction as stains, but more intense and is in response to both dogs and people. I actually think hers is bordering on aggression, though.
High-energy dogs like Stains can be either very good dogs or very bad dogs, depending on how well you handle their boredom. Give them something to do, and they’ll do it all day for you. Give them nothing to do, and they’ll find an outlet for all their energy and intelligence, not always a good one.
That's why I appreciate my Goofy dog. Less effort. Make him do stuff for 5 minutes and 2 long walks a day and he's all set
This is so true, I have a overly hyper boston terrier who I assumed had this "puppy energy" but here we are 3 1/2 years later and doctors want to dope her up on trazadone. Instead I walk her twice a day, play fetch with her, and give her tasks everyday and rewards. When we leave shes perfect and sleeps great. Giving her tasks and praise helps so much!!
Yes you need to do research on a dog like stains to see if he is the right dog for you lifestyle and things like that
it's a working breed
I completely agree I have an Aussie with the same issue as him and when he’s bored he will bark all day as a way of entertainment
OMG I LOVE STAINS He's the one who made the gif of the dog staring in horror
cupcake dog
That dog was abused
@@williamriley-jones I don't think that was the issue. He just gets a fixation on something and stares intensely.
@@williamriley-jones 🤦🏻♀️
It's not even in horror. It's just him staring at the cupcakes and fixating on them. The dog I think of staring in horror is the one when they cut the dog cake.. that dog's reaction is horror lol
You can tell they really tried with stains and just needed a bit of help! Thats great
These are super smart dogs. If you don’t give them a job to do they will make one up. Our late Shepard decided his was to dig out of the yard and herd our elderly neighbors into a tight pack lol. We’d get a call like “hi yes, Tommy has tricked us into a circle again. Can you come get him?” We finally trained it out of him but it was kind of hilarious seeing 4 old people huddled in a circle. How did he get them? Old people in the south like to sit outside on the porch. He would charm the hell out of them or act like there was danger lassie like to lead them all into the road and then do the sheep circling until they were all practically hugging. Lol!
That's a great story! 🤣
Stains is not only a dog, he's a dog lover.🐶💕
I am a big fan of this channel because it helps me learn about dogs

@@Bear-form you’re a sad person...
@@Janae2000 You will never be equal.
Thats Amazing So Do I !
I love stains. He cracks me up. His food obsession is hysterical.
These were good owners, Stains was already partially trained..... smart owners, smart doggo.
In the full episode, Stains is definitely trained, but has a few issues. Mostly this and food. In general it's the impulse control Stains is lacking, but otherwise a great dog. Impulse control is something most owners forget to teach.
It’s also difficult to teach, depending on dog and owner :D I have adhd, so managing my impulsivity and my dog‘s is… uh, hard. But possible! Watching Victoria as definitively helped me with that a lot. :)
@@brightskiesahead At least having ADHD helps you understand just how bad it can be without impulse control. So if anything it really helps you teach impulse control to your dog so they don't have to feel the same.
@@brightskiesahead I didn't expect to relate to a comment this much!😅 My boy knows all the tricks and is very well mannered, but lovessss other dogs so when he sees a friend even though he doesn't react like this dog it is impossible to get him to focus on me...
same thing happens to me and my dog! He loooves other dogs, I taught him not to bark and lunge but now he just quietly stares or sits and it's super hard to get back his attention
For those who don’t know this episode is 10+ years old, it was originally released in 2009 so prob filmed around 2007/2008.
thank you for telling me
I REMEMBER THIS EPISODE. OMGGG
So he's prolly ded thanks for that smh..
@@ballzmckgee3167 you must be fun at parties 😒🙄
Poor Stains!😂 He just wants more friends! He’s also my all time favorite dog on this show. Especially the part with the cupcake!😂
If Stains got 20 minutes of hard running or swimming twice each day he'd be a lot calmer already. The breed is bred to be high energy so they can go all day on a ranch. He needs an outlet. I have the son of a working trial champion. He is as energetic as you'd expect him to be. But he gets energetic frisbee sessions, gets to swim in a nearby pond, gets to take interesting walks in local parks. So when he's home, he's not a tightly wound spring. Without the exercise of body and mind he would be.
Exactly! Thank you for your expertise. Greetings from Germany
We always say a tired dog is a good dog.
I love your channel the techniques you use are harmless and they work perfectly I tried them on my friends dog 😂
Yeah they are really easy to use too, i learned my cat to sit😆

Nice owners. These people are trainable ✌️💙🐕
Stains is so cute. His face is so funny and full of exitement.
“Come, stains!”
your @ makes this comment 20x better 😭😭
Daycare can helps with dogs like this. I couldn’t take my Australian Shepherd for walks because he would growled and lunged at any dogs and people he saw. I took him to dog parks ever since he was a puppy but he became aggressive when he reached maturity. A personal dog behavior trainer told me to try daycare. After 2 months of about 2 times per week daycare, he is super friendly with dogs and humans now. Too friendly, now he wants to play with every dogs he sees. He is a joy to walk and hike with now! Try out daycare.
PLEASE I LOVE HOW THAT LITTLE DOG IS SO CALM
I love that Victoria helps dogs and I wish that I do that too when I’m older! I hank you for making these videos!
My Aussie fav game is flirt pole! She gets to use her heard drive. And then we also play hide and seek with a toy. So much fun!
Props to stains owner due to his patience his dog changed fast...
Good day to you
Mine, also! I have a flirt pole in each hand to encourage him to let go of the one he catches in order to go after the next one!
I just got one for my Aussie but have trouble getting him engaged. Any suggestions??
@@danielafigueroa528 It's a matter of finding out what really turns him on, what gets his juices flowing. Many dogs love flirt poles, but not all of them. Might he like a ball better, or a frisbee? When I'm starting out a dog playing frisbee I throw ground rollers at first so he has an easy time running and grabbing without having to deal with something flying through the air.
This kind of reminds me of kids today. They sit in front of the video games and don't learn how to socialize face to face with other kids. It's along the same lines I think. If your child is rude and misbehaves when in social situations, they need clear boundaries and to get out more. It's also worth noting that if the human gets conditioned that the dog is going to do this, the human gets tense... dogs can sense this. It can fuel a dog to be like this. My aussie was very easy to tech fetch... and she loves it.
She's so brilliant!
✨🦋Make more episodes pls 🦋✨
They are.
Craig is so committed to Stains thats its really sweet and heartwarming to see.
I've had an aussie for a few months now and I have the same problem. Only problem is my situation is not as bad as Stain's situation, except for the fact that my dog could care less about treats 😓😓
That Samoyed dog though
This is the dog that would take food off the counter. He needed a lot of impulse training.
Wonderful job as always Victoria!
I love you i am a dog trainer i always use your tips
Props to stains owner due to his patience his dog changed fast...
Good day to you
One of my favorite episodes
Such a Beautiful Dog
I love your videos I've learnt so much about dogs and now its kinda easy for me to train my dogs!🙂
im such a huge fan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stains!! My favourite! He's come so far
I was on Victoria’s ig and saw they’re recording a new episode!!!!!
We have a 12 week old Aussie and though we love him to bits he is SO cute, he is nearly unmanageable and we've had 5 other dogs with no problem.
Isn’t this the same couple that had that little dog? Peanut I think was his name?
I didn’t watch the whole thing before commenting 😂 I thought peanut died and they got another dog but nope he made an appearance
Victoria you are the best
Come Stains ! That's a good boy!
7:18 is noone gonna comment on how cute this fuzzball is?
I have a standard Aussie and mini Aussie and they are as different as night and day. King has always been laid back and mellow whereas Atlas is super hyper. It takes a lot of work with these breeds.
1:05 hehe oooolright
My aunt had a blue Merle aussie that looked almost exactly like Stains (she was heterochromatic) She just passed away this year at 16.
Aussies are so intelligent and beautiful. They're one of my favourite dog breeds.
Love u bro❤️❤️
Victoria is like some dog goddess 🐶💕
This is so similar to my Aussie's behavior! He's much better now after a few months of having him (got him from a family at 16 months who rarely took him out) but he is still very reactive to other dogs and when he's in his excited state nothing will get his attention back, not even real chicken!
Same with my puppy ❤️
Victoria is a vampire I swear. She still looks the same from 18 years ago lol
Well this episode was filmed 10+ years ago…
If you watch the newer videos she has from people sending in clips of their animals, she looks a lot older. This is a clip from the show which was recorded like 12 years ago..
I wanted to socialize my German shepherd as a puppy to avoid all of this so i took her to work with me every day. She did great at first, but a particularly terrible coworker ruined all of that by ignoring me and pissing off my dog on purpose because it was "cute and funny" when she growled and barked and got mad. I stopped taking her to work immediately but she's still reactive of strangers and at 70lbs no one thinks it's so cute anymore
Maybe your coworker didn't want your dog at work.
Hey.... I have a question... At what year was this video shooted?
Two long daily walks and some fun training activities would fix this dogs energy level and make him a lot calmer. I've always had high energy dogs, they are really good for sports like bikejoring. A tired dog is a good dog.
When I get older I want the same dog. I don't want it to be like that. I probably won't finish watching this I'll drop a like
My dog is exactly the same.. She is reactive... I struggle with her.. She has two hours of outdoors a day but still so excited.. She is 10 months and I'm worried she won't ever have any doggy friends 😢
I love his name!
I love this 🐕 dog.
this reminds me of my dog
Oh cool
One of my dog does this she's getting better
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us.
Such a clever beautiful boy 😘
Stains is so cute he just needs some Guidance im sure his behaviour will change im thankful his owner has patience and see's the difference he is making
The other dog is liek, "What's wrong wit yo dog?!"
My dog needs to be trained
My aussie is 100% calm cool collected.. doesn't give a crap about other dogs cats etc. Birds are the exception.... he doesn't chase them but he watches them and no barking etc. My mutt doesn't want anything in our yard... on our walks she doesn't care about other dogs etc. The mutt is territorial.. she has a protection background so... i let her do that to protect the house. We just got a mini aussie he is 11 weeks almost and he has never been in our yard due to shots not being complete but he is very calm like my big aussie when we go to the vet.
One of my favourite dogs on the show 😊
how much eps have we watched of shelby? 3 or 2 with peanut
we were so looking forward of getting a dog. After discovering this show i am scared 😱 to get one. 😢
i get that
Get a small bred. Large smart breeds are hard for 1st time owners
There's no need to be scared. There are a lot of great dogs out there needing a home. You can start with an older dog that is already trained, and just follow Victorias' advice, and you will be fine.
Don't get a small breed, they get beat up by large dogs, at least mine does :(
there are a lot of great dogs I am an owner of dogs of 13 years I have not regretted getting my dogs at all I will say that small dogs can be harder to potty train if you decide to get a puppy
I seen a full episode of this
I have 4 of them
What a beautiful dog and great owners!!💗
Hi I think ur content is amazing u like read dogs minds:0
Boy this exactly what my dog does. very reactive. . He's sweet as pie but is very reacttive. I'm going to have to watch this agian make notes.
First best CZcams channel
I have an Aussie and he has the same issue as this one I have been using the same method of training and he has gotten so much better with this issue, he still reacts with cats a lot but with dogs he doesn’t barely react like he used to, also people think he’s aggressive when he barks non stop but it’s just him being a reactive dog and people don’t understand this so many people get scared of him unfortunately
My Aussie is not as lucky, we don't have friends with dogs that can help us with this kind of training🤣
We loves Stains, but he can be a feisty boy
oh no, why did they cut his beautiful coat?
Awww love seeing another Sammy! 😍😍😍
Stains seems to want to say hi. But each approach varies.
He needs more stimulation and other Dogs are so important . I wish I had Stains. I Love all these Dogs.
do you know wear a dog like that would be in canada penhold?
Stains: 👀
Stains is precious 💖
😂. About the only thing that works with my Aussie is letting him blast through an alfalfa field chasing gophers birds and butterflies for an hour or so then hes calm. I bet two days later that Aussie was back to his old habbits
Stains is a beautiful looking dog and a very smart dog they have done so well with him with all there training.
I wish I could take my dog to Victoria to get some help with a dog that wants to play with everyone he see’s because that’s what my dog wants to do all the time and for a pug he is so strong
Can she come to Texas to teach my yorkie not to bark -_-
Every yorkies bark
My friends yorkie barked at me first but just teach them to accept it and eventually they’ll stop :)
@@m4ryy987 That's not true, my Yorkshire Terrier rarely barked. And if she barked it was because she really needed something. Every dog is unique even within a breed.
I remember when this lady was on TV. She is truly amazing! I now have a dog 'Borador', and I really need to learn.
Or the color of a good thank you
Its the cupcake dog!! :D
I found the cause is "the leash", our Aussies have a different temperament on a leash than when off leash (in a dog park with free running dogs). So don't think it's necessarily the dog's energy problem. In a free running dog park, they will interact with the other dogs and even play with them at times. The same behavior differences are apparent with strangers.
Ah the meme doggo I love him
This is the same problem with my dog.
Put you between your dog and the thing scaring them. You are the protector and you will show that and tell them you don’t need their help.
The dog's body form reminds me of a polar bear. Very cute
Even OTHER DOGS are getting his signals way wrong. 😳 He can't contain himself.
LMAO, even when he's "calm" and focused, you can see his back legs just vibrating. He LITERALLY can't contain all of his energy. 😅
My aussie does the same thing
Lol stains
is this how my family feels when they take me outside & I get hyper then start goofing around 🙁
Bro Stains has the mind of a labrador retriever. My dog would never bite other dogs, but she will literally charge at them or people.
