It’s because he can’t differentiate between the two, pattern recognition with chess knowledge will get you wins. He has a little pattern recognition and not enough chess knowledge

Yeah. I think the favorite returning players for Pogchamps have been Charlie, Lud, and X but X never practices or studies, Charlie doubts him self too much, and Lud takes a lesson almost every week. X was outpaced by the last Pogchamps and it isn't getting closer. He doesn't really realize how much they've gotten better.

@@igustiaditya6240 Dude he is streaming all the time. We can see that he doesn't practice, and every pogchamps Hikaru mentions that he offered to tutor X and X never got back to him. He's the only pogchamps participant that doesn't take any personal teaching beforehand.

ive been always watching xqc for a few years now and i dont really comment on the videos but i gotta say this chess and hikaru content is what i watch everyday and it's been a while since we got any chess content from xqc, i really like it and i hope x does more chess !

It's so good how xQc spotted a good tatics taking the knight on E3 to then take the bishop with check, but missed the fact that he is getting back rank mated in the end of this line and even got pissed for Hikaru not suggesting that move hahahahaha. It happens at 50:50
This seems like a really fun format for everyone involved, honestly.
Tbh it feels like you’d play worse if someone is telling you pieces to move. Cause obv you won’t see the game on hikarus level and then just end up moving random pieces
But it'll really narrow down the number of moves you have to consider.

You could tell pretty easily tell the bads from the goods ESPECIALLY the last king g6 which completely threw the game even I a 500 would have easily gotten it right

It's odd that he struggles more with an open board than when there's only a few key pieces left.
I don't know about the rest of you guys but I struggle the most when all there's a fuckload of pieces attacking tons of different pieces
when theres many pieces on the board = fewer possible moves for a given piece, some more obvious and easier to spot
few pieces remainin on the board= so much more possible moves for a piece, very hard to find which ones the best
lets say its a rook endgame, that would be really difficult, because the instructions are just king-rook-pawn, it would be SO much harder to find which king/rook move is the best given so many squares on the board

@@dajanacoric5495 yes, it does lmao. That's why they have to implement tablebase in every engine. After a certain point the engine stop calculate and uses what it has memorized because there are simply way too many variations.

7:58 Can someone explain why pushing the bishop , taking a free pawn, with the queen putting king in check in 2 moves and messing up his kings postion and defense wasn't the play ?! Very ametuer here , so i know the obvious move is often a wrong one taken in haste. I just dont see a downfall or trap involved and it does indeed seem like the play at hand. And then after making his move , the oppenent moves the rook from the trapped position, further leading me to believe the bishop should have been pushed with anpossible queen take with the bishop after an annattempt at defense with his knight and two checks. Just would like some insight on this, please. Is this a 5head move or am i oblivious to a trap ?

At 7:59 why isn’t it check mate if he moved his bishop to a3 then he can’t take the bishop cause the queen will take the queen. So then he can just take the pawn at b2 with the queen and then the queen would be protected by the bishop so it will be checkmate.
I think black would play Ng3, blocking the queens pin on the pawn, so white would just have to move the bishop back and black would develop a piece.
at 9:22 he could have moved his bishop to h-6 and got check mate within the next move of moving his queen to g-7 and taking the pawn having the the bishop back his queen- any one else see this ?
Ng6 blocks the pin and attacks E5 pawn forcing bishop back to F4, giving black option to take only bishop and also 2 moves tempo lost.
