There was a clickbait-y article on Facebook about how a kid discovered his dad's ghost times on this game after he died, and I actually started crying because even though my dad's still alive, he gave me his Xbox before we stopped talking altogether and I'd race his ghosts until I got significantly better at this game, it hit wayyyy to close to home. At the time it felt like the only connection I had left with him.
Damn that's heavy, but this game will forever live on in my heart.

Whenever my girlfriend asks me why I won't get rid of the og Xbox, I point to this game. A masterpiece.
Agreed, this and PGR 2 are games I still play when I have access to my OG Xbox. Shame it's not on PC outside emulators.

Best racing game ever, I have spent insane amount of time replaying this one. SHAME on Microsoft for owning this IP and sitting on it without doing anything.
Actually shame on Microsoft for not bringing rallisport 2 to Microsoft Windows.
This to me is still the greatest rally racing game ever made.
It has this perfect blend of being intense as all hell whilst also being easy to get hooked into. A strong roster of cars, tracks, and honestly I find the soundtrack to personally be very memorable. This in all ways is superior to the first game.
This is one of the best GAMES ever, period, not just racing games. I know exactly the forest level you refer to at the beginning lol, truly great graphics. Also, playing it with custom music - I used to put on instrumental TOOL songs and enjoyed just letting the replay run as the song played.

This game not being backwards compatible was the original reason I kept my old xbox when I upgraded to the 360. I still play it from time to time, it's up there with Colin McRae Rally 2.0, 4, and 2005, in my favourite rally games.
hands down the best rally racing game ever. put Dirt 5 and Sega Rally after it

Made by DICE when it was still a legendary studio. Like you said, it really is one of the best racing games ever made. Loved the hill climb races. Pure adrenaline rush!

Loved this game when I was a kid and am happy to see a video on it. I actually got it by accident from gamestop back in 2006 as I was trying to get part 1, happy accident

This game was my childhood so many good memories with my dad playing this
i am so happy i chose to review this. I never knew how many ppl love thia game. I know when MS Game Studios sorta dissolved andbthe XSN branding went away i guess the series went with it. But i love reading all peoples commebts, memories and legit 100% love for this game.
Of modern day rally racing games Dirt 5 is the best

Still the best rally game i ever played. Colin McRae Rally on PS1 is fun but in Rallisport they did everything right. I still can't unlock the vintage Ford Rally car and the other Renault blue one
Currently grinding this game out right now since i beat the first one a while ago. Never played these until like a year ago and man very impressive. I grew up on PGR and midtown madness on the xbox so i never got to try these. I loved your review of the game, you are passionate about it and you sound like a cool guy. For everyones info, DIRT 5 is as close to RSC2 as i think we can get. great game check it out
This game is awesome, there are much content, like cars, Tracks, Game modes, the Physics of the cars, the wheater effects like rain, fog, night, Snow etc, I Love the game, and i still playing today in 2021, As you said it's fun and Challenge if you allow it, the racing games of today they don't compare to this jewel of the past of xbox, we need a remake or remaster Or a reboot, I like your video, keep going 🙂
Rallisport 2 is one of the best rally games ever made, hands down. Microsoft made a serious mistake not bringing the second game onto Microsoft windows, as I consider it more Superior over its predecessor. The amount of awesomeness they put into this game is spectacular, I know there is Colin McRae or Richard burns, but Rallisport 2 is just an underrated classic, OG Xbox emulation needs to progress further so I can finally play this game after years.
dude RALLISPORT 2 IS INSANELY AWESOME. BUT it doesnt tske away from Sega Rally, they are totslly different styles of rally racing

@@KJAY2THOUSAND dude i cant say i have much XP w CMR, though they are very well loved by Rallye gamers. I stick to my heart on RSC2, Dirt 5, and Sega Rally(series, but mainly 1 n Revo)

truthfully i dont know too many, as im more into just the rally racing subgenre. Baja to me means the best mountain dew
This game is incredible, pissed me off it was never backwards compatible & no PC version like the first game. For me probably only topped by Dirt 2 on 360

What do you mean it's a hassle? Do you live outside of the United States? Where copies of the game are harder to get in your native region or finding american copies where you are from?
Out of curiosity, what do you mean? It's a hassle not being sarcastic? I'm being serious. Is there something about this particular game? That makes emulating it a pain in the ass. Or are you talking about emulation? As a whole on the og xbox

@@EliteGamersUnited There is a race where you can get off the road and drive on the sand, on a beach with surfers with their surfer boards. Somewhere, there is a dog walking around and if you stop the car, the dog come beside and piss on you. I think you can unlock this easter egg only once because I tried to re-do it to show to a friend and the damned dog never showed up, I tried it many times.
Today i played Ea sports WRC . I always have RC2 as the best racing and every wrc game i play I'm compare with it . I'm still wondering why they can't make a good wrc game . They have the power of new generation , the knowledge and everything they want and still something missing from the games ..
The OG xbox is really under rated.
In reality I consider the OG xbox to be the successor to the dreamcast due to it's very a clictic library and high quality titles and very high awesome to terrible game ratio
I would say for every 12 games there is one terrible game

I used to play it back in the day, I recently picked up a few OG Xboxes and now I'm collecting OG Xbox games, I put this game on yesterday and start playing and The Nostalgia was overwhelming, I got into the game and I couldn't stop playing..... until the wife starts screaming.... it's late you got to go to work tomorrow. 😂😂😂fak

The to people who gave thumbs down must be fans of garbage racing games
It's a really good racing game however I do have a big problem with it I don't like the color and resolution except for the cars the game tracks and scenery may look good but the color and resolution is dull looking I wish the game would look more vibrant and colorful sharper graphics

Games can look pretty different on modern TVs in comparison to CRT TVs that were used at the time. CRTs had great black levels and contrast, which modern TVs still struggle to match. The nature of CRT also softens the jagged edges, which suits older games. Of course the games were also designed with CRT TVs as the intended output.
Resolution is inevitable for the time, pretty much everything was standard definition, and even if they had designed for high resolution it would inevitably slow everything dramatically (so effects would have to be turned off)
gaming on a crt with games developed after 05/06 was the end of true black levels
This game looks super sharp, you just have to play it on crt tv, as intended. Compared to almost all 6th gen games, this game is really smooth both in terms of great framerate, but also image clarity. Played on CRT it looks like early (but good early) 7th gen game. I have to say this is in technical terms probably the best looking 6th gen racing game ever made (other worthy opponents would be Gran Turismo 3 and 4, Enthusia Professional Racing, Project Gotham Racing 2 - becasue of superb locations, WRC 4 and WRC Rally Evolved and that's pretty much it)
I like the muted colors older games tend to have. Imo it wins in the long run, if you watch Bob Ross for example you can see he never used strong colors and there is a reason for that. But I guess it's different opinions, however you can always just turn up your saturation on your tv if you like. I find modern games to be too bright, colorful and it's annoying how every object have to reflect light blinding you everywhere, not a fan.
