Talk Abstract: Teaching puzzle design is hard, when anything can be a puzzle, the challenge becomes determining the best way to constrain your options. Geared towards the novice escape room puzzle designer, Errol humorously shares years of wisdom from designing puzzles. This session is as serious as it is silly, which is quintessential Errol.

This video gives such a generous amount of information. Thank you!
It's a serious knowledge bomb.
Yes!!! This is the one I regret missing live. Such great info for anyone looking to start up.
Huzzah! I'm glad you found it informative!
I did start doing the puzzle with the solution you intended, but stopped halway through when it seemed like nonsense. Then went back and did it again when I realised the middle word of the clue text. Got halfway through THAT before throwing the paper aside with a groan. XD Well, at least I figured out I definitely had it right!
Amazing info! Thanks so much! I'm officially subscribed 😊
Great video. Applicable to any kind of puzzle or game creation. Hopefully this channel gets more attention.
Amazing advice. We've designed three rooms so far and are just in the midst of our fouth. This video has lots of things that we've been considering with our development this far. We log all times of all puzzles and find this information vital in creating and refining the rooms. We aim for 100% completion which we find a good challenge to keep our puzzles accessible and enjoyable.
You have really rickrolled us in that blue puzzle.
Great information, thanks. I have previously done a marketing degree so much of this I already knew but adapting it and rehashing it is helpful.
This is a great video. Thank you!
This is really cool, I just came to learn as I like the idea of puzzles, but I'm not sure how much I actually like puzzles, it's nice to be made to think though.
With your coloured word puzzle, my first thought was to put the words in order, and I found that none of them made coherent understandable sentences.
Then I thought "opposite, maybe focus on the red text?"
That didn't pan out.
So I tried reading the text backwards, which also gave me nothing.
Last I tried typing out the exact opposite of the blue words.
Down - me - take from - coming - always
Up - you - give to - going - never
I still don't know what the heck this is supposed to mean, let alone if I have it correct.
Rick Astley has a wonderful video that will help you from here. ;)

Developers shouldn’t laugh at failure. Many video games have taunted players for being bad.
Yes I find that ridiculous
Whoa black light 😂😂
