- Sokani is taking big move into the RGB light space with their new X60 RGB. Building on past experience with their X60 line of tiny Bowens mount lights, the new X60 RGB gives you app control, and about 80 Watts of power, in a very small, affordable package. But how does it really measure up? Let's find out!

Thank you for an excellent review. I really admire your light setup and the brisk pace of the presentation.
Having the DC jack on the bottom seems unorthodox, but I believe it allows the plug to act like Apple's old MagSafe connector, easily coming loose to prevent damage to the jack or light fixture.
Few connectors are suited to carrying any signifcant load, less so if it is dynamic, like a light being justled around. Nanlite's bricks come with wire loops to hang the brick off a point but still has short DC cables, probably due to power loss and cost.
Nice Video Wes
Excellent review. Well done.
Great review Wes. Two things: Do you shoot at 1080P 60fps with the A9 and then upscale to 4K 60fps before uploading to YT? And number two, the URL to your Facebook page is wrong, it's missing an "h" in the URL (photograpHy).
I do the upscale much of the time yeah. But only when I have sufficient hard drive space. Always a bit tight there on my working drives. Too many things on the go.
And thanks for the catch!
I'm confused, is the brightness/lumens greater than the ML60? I get it's more watts, but from what I understand... when a light is bicolor, and even more so when it's rgb, the brightness output gets greatly reduced. Is that the case here?
Put some Loctite thread sealant on the rosette bolts and they will never loosen. 😁 👌
So it has "more power" than the ML 60, but for straight-up daylight brightness/lumens won't it be MUCH less/lower than the ML60 with that small ring of LED's? People complain about the ML60 being not bright enough, but for just* daylight use I can't necessarily see this being better..(unless I'm wrong?)
Pretty good review. Loving tube lights tho. Where may I get those? Any reviews?
Thanks!

@@WesPerry Thank you so much! By any chance,do you have any cheaper recommendations but still having a good quality
For tube lights? They tend to be quite expensive. Godox has some cheaper ones, but they’re much smaller. They honestly don’t get much cheaper than the Pavotubes at that size.
@@WesPerry Alright. Thank you for the response 🙂
Would this make a decent key light? Would like to record some guitar videos where the background has lighting already and just need some light on me and the guitar. Or are there better LED panel alternatives that would be cheaper?
This is definitely a decent key light yeah
The problem with the panels is you’re more or less stuck with a particular size of light, but with a monolight like this, you can but whatever size softbox you want on it.
Generally speaking you can get a cheaper daylight balanced light for your key light, though. This is usually used for more specialized instances light side, accent and background lighting
Doesn't seem to be available on Amazon in the states.
Yeah, it’s still very new to market.
Does this light is compatible with Godox Projection mount SA-17 SA-P ?
I can say for certain, but it should be yes, since it’s Bowen’s mount.
hi there. what do u mean by shadow cracking?
Im very curious, i myself got one, and the shadow caused by the different led inside causes me to see a lot of diff color shadow.
Shadow cracking is when you have different shadow edges of different colours. Which might be what you’re getting?
Yes im quite annoyed by it. How do you solve it?
Just need to diffuse the light even a little bit and it will go away. I have to say, I’d don’t find it much of an issue myself. There are other lights that are much worse for it.
I was unable to find the app l...does anyone know where to find it?
It’s called SS LED now. Not sure why they changed the name.
Can you test the Sokani X25?
First I’ve heard of it! Haha
@@WesPerry It looks really nice. RGB tube light for around $120. And it seems like it uses the same app and can be controlled in groups with the X60
Bruuuuuh you never said the app name
The Sokani App? SS LED
