    Mount the lights on the top of the steering arms so they turn with the wheels and tires. It will not take away from the hole look that started this build but it will make the lights the focal point ant it will give you full steering.

    Looks much better, has a very purpose built race look to it, like it was built for a retro class of racing maybe. Those wide jobs really set it off.

    Most of the time the iron paint I get comes with an activator which you brush/spray on put in plastic bag and it should rust in an hour or so

    11:30 That was super fun to hear. I have had the same issue and just solved it with exectly the samme solutions as you. #d printed adapters ith bearings and some washers etc.... Took me forever to find that solution... fun how another rc hotrod builder have gone the same route... :)

    I really miss your Rat Rod builds.
    I have some hexes I found online that are drilled out and have bearings pressed into them. Don't get me lyin as to where they came from but their either from Bang Good or Amazon. Will get them out later tonight and get some pictures. Another option might be Fomula1 front rims. There is/was rubber tire F1 front rims that take bearings. But their not going to look like vintage or steelies. Really like the tires and rims you got on there now. Very cool.

    @20:46 😂
    Are those the same tires you had on it in that facebook post the other day? Bc it looked sick AF with the fat tires.
    You could always spray that activator into a small cup and apply it with a brush if you don't want to spray the body. 👍👍

    I'm having the exact same issue with my front wheels (similar set up with Tamiya semi front axle). I started with normal depth hex hubs, I can back off the nyloc nut to get wheel spin. But my rig rolls in turns super easy so I want to increase the track width up front to counter that. Added wider hex hub adapters like yours, which don't use a nyloc nut so no way to keep tension on the nut and get wheel spin. Curious if you found any other solutions to this? You mentioned a 3d printed adapter? Do you have a link? What would be perfect is a wide hex adapter with recesses for bearings on both ends... but I don't have the tools or skills to machine that myself.

      There is a 3dprinted part that solves that problem. I had a set I ordered from shapeways but I can not find them anymore.

    Had the same problem with my hex locking up so I took plastic hexs dill out for a bearing to fit inside and a shim or two. problem salved.

    • @RCeveryday
      @RCeveryday  Před 3 lety

      It is 3dprinted. The designer doesn’t have it listed anymore on shapeways. I know I’ve seen the file available somewhere else like cults3d or myminifactory.

      It use to be sold on shapeways by m-customs. Cost about $150 back then.
