The only thing that gets me excited for this season is seeing how the rookie draft class performs. Also I want to see Overshown, improve from last year.

Drafting Mazi as a big DT to clog the middle and help with the run game, then making him lose 30lbs was just stupid. So far, picking Mazi ranks up there with Taco Charlton, Shante Carver, and Bobby Carpenter.
Bobby did get that pick against us though. That made it all go down so much better

I would get SERIOUSLY excited if we traded Micah for Draft Picks. We should be able to get some HIGH Draft Picks, like two 1sts, a 2nd, a 3rd and maybe a 5th Rounder. You could rebuild either side of the ball with those Picks.
If Guyton doesn't work, you can slide over Tyler Smith and insert TJ Bass!! There's currently no backup plan after Mazi!! He's now in Seattle!!!
I hear Brian’s point. Guyton could get help from Zeke or Schoonmaker. If Mazi was playing like a first round stud, our defense skyrockets against the teams that beat us every year in the playoffs. Good running teams.
I do agree with Broaddus that Mazi having a great year would be huge. We only need Guyton to be good. Did you see how GB and other teams ran all over the Cowboys?

No. You need your tackle to be good. Better than servicable. But great? No. Our weakness was stopping the opponent's ground game. You fix that and the the biggest weakness you had is solid. That said, it's not just Mazi being great. You need everyone else on Defense to do their job well and the scheme has to improve. That's on Zimmer.

All kidding aside I will be more interested in the Texans than Cowboys this year during the season. If we are in the playoffs I’ll start to care about Dallas
Don't redo any contracts until they expire. Holding onto players and negotiating contracts early for enormous sums of money hasn't worked at all. Not even close to working. Playout their rookie contracts, use the franchise, and use the 5th year option when it works for the team and then move one and continuously rebuild when contracts expire at all position groups including QB. When you win a Super Bowl you can do what you need to do to run it back another year. If they change to this model they can get real free agent help from time to time and keep a generational player when they are lucky enough to find one and wanted to keep they could without breaking the salary cap/bank. To be clear the ONLY player on the team that is a generational talent right now is Parsons. The status quo is only working when it comes to winning regular season games and maybe winning one playoff game. Whatever model they choose when it isn't working acknowledge it then make changes. If the Cowboys aren't playing in the NFC championship every 5 years then they need to rebuild in that 6th year and if they find themselves in a situation where they are with Dak let him walk.

Keep Micah, move on from Dak. Micah is young and can mature in time (this is his biggest issue). Plus he's a generational player. Dak has already had 8-9 years on the team. Good qb in the regular season, but in most big marquee games and especially in the playoffs he's just not trust worthy (tired of still seeing the deer in the headlights look from a veteran of his caliber in these situations). He's reached whatever ceiling he has. I'm ready for them to try their hand with a young qb (with HIGH upside), surround him with talent, and try to coach him up.
Trade all our current young and Great players and start over isn't the Cowboy way and thank God it's not and Thank God non of you guys are calling the shots...
If Dak gets resigned, I'm out rooting for the Cowboys until he's gone.

I'm looking forward to losing as much as we can, to get that high draft position for 2025. Thats where we'll get our Dak replacement FINALLY. Hoping for Georgia's Carson Beck and NOT Sheddur Sanders. Having Sanders would be like Daks greediness x10.
