As an exo-l.. I click this video because of Suho as the thumbnail. But then.. I see Changsub oppa from Btob.. It's also a good thing.

Another moment where you realise that being a good pop singer doesn't make you a good musical actor, and the efforts singers and idols put in for doing musicals! 🔥🔥
Yeah, also, there's a lot of stigma around idol musical actors because they "steal the jobs" from the classically trained actors. The first one was Ock Joohyun from Fin.K.L., She got so much hate when she joined musicals but now she's #1. Because of her, many other idols followed like Kim Junsu (TVXQ), Kyuhyun (Suju), Lina (CSJH), Luna(fx), Ivy (solo). These are all succesful in the musical world now but still face hate sometimes.

@@Jy23CP Musicals isn't only vocals, its acting + theatre presence + charisma + vocalization + pronounciation and at the very end singing. If it only went by vocals, many idols could make it, but obviously not many could and can. Being a good singer does not mean making a good musical actress.
I love it that Changsub started with such a humble expectation of himself. It just show that he is willing to learn and to grow, even though he is already a singer for 9 years, and he already casted in various musicals before. I love it that Director Kim can get to the core of his potential, yanked it out, and give him the right boost for his confidence. Oh how I wish I could see Changsub in one of his musicals some day......
I would love to see Changsub in a musical too! When I was in Korea, he was in the iron mask at the time. There were so many tickets available when his counterparts were performing (someone from Vixx and someone from B1A4), but all of his shows were sold out.
@@Girneosny some said that Omega (changsub's fans) are on another level haha.. even his merchandise always sold out the fastest! And many are re-sold for a sky-rocketting price!

The way even the bosses in the panel are nervous😆. But Director Kim Moonjeong is really charismatic and I think her being strict is what makes these musical actors give out their best
i am an exo-l so i was happy for the suho thumbnail because i miss him terribly; but also as someone who adores btob, i feel so proud watching changsub challenging himself.

I enjoy Changsub’s singing because he’s a REALLY good singer but his technique here isn’t for musicals. But he’s so quick to understand the corrections made, just a proof of his musical talent and ability too. Can’t wait to watch his performance

Although this was back around December/January, it still was a busy schedule since he practiced this Musical during BTOB 4U promotions and had practices for their Concert during the Musical Performances so it was really quite a hectic schedule for Changsub considering he only just got discharged from the Military recently.
And now he has a new Musical which he started practicing for last April alongside their Kingdom shootings, damn what a schedule, I respect him most for this.
seeing this vid makes me realized that being musical actor isn't easy at all. because the thechniques of being musical singer are VERY DIFFERENT from pop singer, we need lot of effort for giving the best performance. That's why I really really222 respect idol who also worked as veteran musical actors/actress. Good job Changsub, and another idol who play musical

@@procyon1 Yes of course, Haena is recently receiving good attention after performing on KBS open music concert. Bada is also very respected and Kyuhyun too, he is hustling this year (Phantom, Dracula, Werther)

Changsub has a great voice. But he is so sweet and nervous. She worked with Leo from VIXX also. Cool. This will be hard on sweet Changsub, but I am sure he will learn. Wonderful. I wish I could see the performance.

although she sounds harsh and strict, but it reasonable because she point out what your mistake and how to improve. Not just let them figure it out alone without any clue and make them helpless. She still guide you to make better improvement. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

It was never easy singing sitting down. As a melody i feel so emotional now. DIdnt know the load he is carrying for both Musical & Btob is this heavy. Hidden by the fact he is always seen training for his musical in the dressing room in a humorous way i didnt expect the pressure that come with it. Thank You Lee Changsub for working so hard! Your talent didnt go unnoticed for sure! Fighting!

The way she coached Changsub on how to emote a musical score makes sense. From the perspective of the audience, I have sat at various locations in the theatre so a major part of how much I engage in the storyline depends on how well the actor/actress vocalize it, particularly when I'm seated far away from the stage.
Finally, i can watch this with eng sub.. Yokshiii uri BTOB is everywhere..

Joining a musical is really difficult for idols but it will actually help them in the long run. Great example is Kim Junsu. His vocals are already outstanding even before joining musicals but as time goes by, his style in singing as a soloist has changed. Like you can see his growth as a singer because you’ll be able to notice how he is able to apply the things that he learned while doing musicals into his solo works. I’m looking forward to Changsub’s growth in the musical industry and to see his solo projects in the future!
Changsub is so underrated. This is so amazing
Director Kim has a sharp discerning ear. She can immediately tell where emphasis is needed, what emotions a vocal tone can convey to the audience. Changsub did great and was able to transition from kpop idol to an amazing musical actor. Solar is lucky to have her as mentor in her first attempt starring in the Matahari musical. Changsub being in the same musical must have made the transition easier for Solar as she needed a friend's support.

But changsubie always has distinct colour and blues-soul techniques, and back in the days uri changsubie is laid-back type, crack voiced almost happen every comeback. I do really hope changsubie can get much much betterrrr than ever. His emotional honey voice is precious. He does really have potential as a great musical actors 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙

lookkk, the way the director praised Changsub that he soaked well the feedback, is the best praise, it's not about being a good singer but it's about wanting to learn more and be good at it.
the first version he sang, I don't quitely agree with his technique, as I was in a choir before, I knew a bit of this but the director not scolding him right away, she gave him what he should fix first and that helps him better to do well because as an idol, he might be clueless with this new method of sing. I'm so proud of Changsub, he really did well and strangely I like his voice in this kind of method sing, more than his pop singing voice :")
Agree with you about the best praise. It is even better than being praised for how well you are! Also I see that Director Kim asked him what he thought of his own singing first, and from what I see, he is sharp and honest in giving opinion about himself. He knows what he lacks of, or what went wrong. That's a good start.

Wow! Changsub sounds much better at the end as compared to before. He's amazing to be able to deliver what was taught by Director Kim. I guess Director Kim was also the one who's responsible for how great vocalist Junmyeon is now. His singing has improved a lot since he did musicals.
