The engine sound is something else. Also all those tiny bits of extra wings and aerodynamic surfaces are kinda wild. It's a bit sad that FIA does not allow something like that anymore, cause it invited car manifacturers to think outside the box here and there and come up with crazy stuff.
They look way more modern that current cars. Right now the design trend in the auto industry is aggressive design, and thosr 2008 cars looked so aggressive. In contrast the current cars are just big, heavy and look regressive
@@R9naldo I actually like the look of the 2023 cars, certainly a modern look in my eyes, but the cars in the 90s had a neat straight-forwardness about their aero setup that I love and the cars in '08 combined that look with interesting greyzones to add bits of extra wing here and there. Not that "cheesegrater washboard"-look of the 2019 cars, I hated those. Not as bad a look as some others, like those seasons where F1 cars ran supper narrow rear wings or when they had this weird step in the nose, those cars were ugly as sin. Now, let's hope FIA will eventually churn out a design that gets rid of DRS. DRS is almost as cancerous as "Fan Boost" and "Attack Mode" in FE.
@@h.a.9880 I would say reduce length and see from there. Also the initial reaction to the halo proves that it's design is very poor. Obviously keep it until a new design is found too. And I agree with DRS. Would also say remove the hybrid system because the negatives outweigh the positive
The back end snap that used to happen on high speed corners during 2008 was so scary. unpredictable and too hard to catch. Maybe a aerodynamic issue of that season? Idk!🤔
Hey i see that some of your clips are from practice sessions, I happen to have all of them from 2009-2017 but I'm missing the ones from 2007 and 08. They don't seem to be able to be found on the Internet so if you have them then maybe you could share them with me, that would be great and I'd be very thankful!
Hi there! I there is a website with clips called darcyf1.com where you find all motosport clips For f1 you need a rank 2 account (liking a video and commenting) Make sure to check it out
@@sebaboimotosport5679 oh thanks for the answer, I assume they only have some highlights but that could work! The reason I'm looking for these is to make compilation videos like you btw, specifically rn a compilation of car control among the wdcs :)
The green substance in the tyres? It was designed by the tyre suplier, Bridgestone, to separate the soft tyres (with green stripes) from hards They made a similiar design for ‘09 and ‘10 tyres by putting stripes on the side of the rims, between the side and the top of the tyres
At the ‘08 Japanese GP (Fuji), all of the tyres used that weekend had green stripes in the grooves - It was to promote Bridgestones ‘Make cars green’ campaign. It was only for that one weekend of the season though
Adrian Newey car. They had a reputation for being fragile. Also didn't help that nearly every time we seen it it was getting thumped by someone else. Remember how dodgy the aero was that year too

The curbs are so dangerous during 2008
Always have been (Alex 2019 Monza f2)
nothing compared to todays sausage curbs
And this was the first year without traction control
Yet today we have sausage kerbs that launch the cars way higher. Well done 👏
I really miss irresponsible track design like the Singapore chicane of death. Bring that back

That's what happens when you drive like an idiot and ram someone
0:33 Damn that curb
Minor inconvenience
Honda, Jenson Button and front wings what a combination
One of the best battles of the year. Seeing who broke more front wings, the Honda team or Nakajima alone

So just to make it clear, Coulthard's car self-destructed in Malaysia?
But how many incidents had DC that year?😂
Best of F1 2008: bumper cars edition.
2007-2008...those were the days.
0:53 Hamilton was so damn lucky he didn't break his hands here.
Car was very light and they remove traction first year
Engine: VROOOOOEMMM VROEMM

I remember those redbulls falling apart a few times in 08
It's like an online f1 lobby
0:56 Hamilton hitting Alonso 2 times lmao
He was definetly commited to hit that ass
They still had beef 💀
he wants his Monaco win back :skull:
That red bull car literally folded like paper
Massa and Nakajima are liabilities out there! I can't believe how many crashes there were.
Yet Massa managed to almost win the championship
5:34 Poor Bird🕊😔
Does anyone know at the chinese grand prix? The tires had a green substance in the groves what’s this used for? Were those the intermidiates tyres?

It was only for that one weekend of the season though

Was the RedBull literally made of cardboard that year? Why did it get destroyed so easily?
I was wondering this, thing flew apart every time a swarm of flies hit it.

2008. I don't remember any year with more fails on all drivers. Even Alonso, who is famous for no commit fails, made a few.

These cars basically couldn't overtake at all. Nothing happened between the pitstops because they were so full of small aero devices
