Thank you for putting this information together - great job providing clear and concise explanations. I've used an HRM -Run for 5 years. Yesterday picked up a Pro Plus. Glad to see my numbers mostly fall within normal ranges. Will try upping cadence 5%. Agree most important is to avoid obsessing and just enjoy the sport. Cheers from Taipei

I was just talking to a mate of mine today about his new Garmin watch and all these features. I mentioned the channel to him and a few hours later this vid comes out. Spooky 😱👌

Shouldn’t change much! Taller = usually longer strides but also higher energy demands as well. But for amateur runners it’ll all balance out 👍🏼

Regarding Vertical Oscillation: I've noticed that I tend to lean pretty far forward when I run. It _seems like_ this is causing some kind of stress and pain in my right foot, along the arch area, to the point where I have to slow down to a walk until it goes away. Is this a common problem, or is it likely more a problem with my shoes or something? My assumption was that it was from leaning forward, but my left foot doesn't seem to get this problem. It's like the entire arch of my right foot almost "locks up" like the muscle is clenching.

Hey mate, hard to diagnose purely of this, but it sounds like you have an issue with your plantar fascia. Usually I would try reduce your running volume or make an adjustment to you training schedule, if it is still comfortable to run try and perform intervals within your comfortable distance, and definitely new shoes to see if that helps! I would also introduce foot/ankle strength training into your routine to help settle this down!

@@ThePhysioBros Thanks kindly for the response! I really appreciate the advice. I had been struggling with the pain for a while and I ended up getting a new pair of shoes and some inserts that are meant for semi-flat-footed people. It helped quite a bit, after I got the shoes broken in.
Another thing that helped a lot was increasing my cadence, but reducing how hard my feet hit the ground. It is overall a bit smoother and keeps my feet from cramping mid-run.
Only pain I'm dealing with right now are sore legs after runs! Haha. Thanks again, brother!
